2 First Quest

What Boeros saw didn't look anything like rabbits, calling them monsters would have been more appropriate since they truly looked demonic. Red eyes, long claws, and white fur that for once, didn't prompt Boeros to want to pet them. The other thing was that while normal rabbits would slowly chomp on grass and plants, these creatures were actually devouring the vegetation. This led Fang to believe that it was the rabbits who had ravaged this forest, which, should have been luxurious since it was on Elven territories.

Before starting to fight these monsters, he remembered that he could inspect the rabbits to get more information.

<Lvl.1 White Rabbit (Grey-Common) 10/10 HP>

Seeing the low health of the critters, Boeros thought it would be an easy task to hunt a few. When he started thinking of a plan to kill the first one in his sight, Boeros remembered a critical thing : "I don't have any skills!". Feeling a bit exasperated with himself, he still decided to give it a try; he went to the rabbit and started to hit it with his wand.

The first few hits being successful made Fang extremely happy, that being until he actually got scraped back by the rabbit's claw, "I feel pain ?", feeling a bit shocked, he let himself get clawed another time before he dodged the next one and backed off a few meters. Even though Boeros felt stinging pain, he didn't see any wounds and so decided to finish his fight with the small and vicious beast. Enraged, he ran forward and hit the rabbit with his full strength.

-4 (Critical hit)

<Kill 10 rabbits (1/10) and bring them to Ike, the encampment's senior adventurer>

After he managed to kill it, the rabbit turned into a small token classified as a Quest-Item, that Boeros quickly placed inside his inventory, guessing he would need to bring these to the senior adventurer. The XP rewarded for fighting the rabbit was also pretty generous, giving him 8% of his total XP bar.

"That'll teach him," Boeros had a smug look on his face until he realized that what he killed was only a rabbit. Still, being pretty excited about the kill, he went directly to the next rabbit on the right and unleashed a similar full-strength attack, only for the rabbit to evade it. The creature, unhappy to be bothered, tried to hit Fang back. Fang, having learned from his mistake actually managed to avoid getting hit this time around. He then counterattacked and, after a few hits, managed to kill the second rabbit. This one also transformed into a token and gave him a similar amount of XP.

Now a bit more experienced in the fighting mechanics of the game, Boeros managed to kill enough rabbits to complete the quest. On his last rabbit though, something peculiar happened, he actually received the <Idiot Mage> title. He first thought that the system was playing a joke on him, but, as it turns out, this title was one that would be gained if a mage killed his first 10 enemies without using his wits.

<Idiot Mage : +10% to your Strength stat, -10% to your Intelligence>

"What a bad title for me", he sighed. At least, through this whole exhausting fight, Fang managed to get his very first piece of loot, a shoulder guard.

[White Fur Guards]

[Grey-Uncommon]

[Defense : 1]

[-Makes all rabbits feel threatened by you]

"What kind of effect is that ?!", truly saddened by his own bad luck, Boeros started heading back to the encampment.

After a while, he managed to get back and found Ike, the encampment's senior adventurer. Ike, compared to Sharlus, truly looked like an elf, he was tall, had blonde hair, and a pair of greenish eyes. He even had the typical air of arrogance that elves often seem to have.

"What are you here for?" Ike coldly asked.

"I was told by Sharlus that you were the one that would accept these rabbit tokens," replied Fang.

"Why would I need those?"

"Shouldn't I get an adventurer plate for giving those to you?" asked Boeros a bit confused.

"Humph, such trivial matters, here then, there's your 1-star Adventurer Plate" answered Ike, in a mocking tone.

Seeing how childish this supposed senior was, Fang quickly took the bronze plate which was covered by a single star.

After getting a few new blue notifications, Fang decided that he would allocate his free skills point to the Intelligence stat, considering that he planned to be a true, magic-only, magician.

Now that he had gotten the status of an Adventurer, he truly was only missing a magic skill to be considered a true Oak's Will player. To get a skill, Fang figured he would walk around the camp a bit to find a merchant. He saw a few vendors and even a player who was shouting "Selling White Rabbit's Fur, a great Tailor Material, only 10 copper each !". Seeing all these merchants, Boeros took a look at his money pouch, only to see a meager 8 copper, the money he had gained from killing the 10 rabbits. A bit later, Fang finally stumbled upon what seemed to be some kind of mage shop. The one tending the shop was a surprisingly young-looking elf, who also had a pair of glasses that seemed way too big for his face.

"Hey, are you selling magician skill books by any chance ?", Fang asked the vendor.

"Ah hello there, I didn't notice you, what kind of skill would you be interested in, sir?", he answered, seemingly surprised by Fang's appearance.

"Well, I only have 8 copper, so whatever Magician skill is fine by me"

"Hm, how about this, seeing as you just got your 1-Star Adventurer's Plate, I'll make you a free skill book to start off with?" before Fang could answer back, the young vendor made a very simple array in the air using Mana, to Boeros though, who happened to see magic in VR for the first time, this experience was unforgettable. After a minute or so, the elf imprinted the magic array that he made in the air on a book and then offered it to Fang, "Here take a look".

[Earthen Shard]

[Grey-Uncommon]

[Attack Power : Intelligence + 2]

[Has a tiny chance to stun small creature]

"Thank you, I shall treasure it" happily answered Fang, while slightly bowing, still in deep awe of that beautiful array the young elf made. With everything now dealt with, it was time for Boeros to go and find his first Adventurer's Quest on the encampment's board.
