Gracie screamed in shock when she saw Zion's form and helped Nyx tending him. She kept a few medicines and bandages on her corner table with a fresh pair of clothes for both of them since Nyx's dress was covered with Zion's blood.

Nyx was sure that even though his wounds will remain free from infections but he is prone to get a fever. It happens to him when he is badly beaten up - but no matter how much Nyx tries to keep him away from the ring, he ends up getting closer to it. This was infuriating, and Nyx wished that this cycle of torture will come to an end.

She removed his shirt and continued to put medicine on his bruises on the stomach. She checked his temperature and as she had anticipated, he was burning with fever. Nyx rushed to get his phone and dialed her doctor. She was no professional and could help Zion this much only. She didn't want to give him the wrong medicine.

After informing her doctor to come to her house immediately, she sat beside Zion on her bed and stared at him. His unresponsiveness troubled her. The bruises on his skin didn't ease her worried mind and she could barely suppress the tears that threaten to leave her eyes.

"Why do you do this to yourself, Zion?" she says, more like talking to herself since she knew that Zion wouldn't reply.

She stared at his flawless face, wishing that those enchanting hazel eyes will stare back at her and a smile will grace his face. But he laid there, with a frown on his face and a body covered with wounds.

Nyx knew she had to act fast to get him out of these vicious street fights since she knew that one day, it might be the end of him. Imagining a world with Zion broke her heart and she buried that thought deep inside her mind. Zion will always come back for her - he promised that he would never leave her alone.

Nyx internally laughed - the Queen was in a dire need of her knight. The Queen who trusted no man and feared no bitch was scared of losing her knight. But that it what love is - if you aren't terrified of the mere thought of waking up to see your beloved gone then you aren't in love, you are just infatuated with the person.

Nyx knew this was absolutely confusing and terrifying since she belonged to Zion but she was having sex with Jason. Her body craved for the day when Zion would lie on top of her, thrusting deep into her core and her screaming his name on top of her lungs. A blush formed on her face as her imagination started to run wild but she suppressed it, remembering that she had more important matters to deal with. There was no denying that she wanted more with him, perhaps she will leave this elite life of hers to settle down with a simple one with him.

Zion despised the life of the rich, he wasn't the one for all those balls organized among the rich or even discussing business all the time. He wanted a life that was far from the eyes of the media and the dirty eyes of some elites.

Nyx wouldn't say that she disliked her life, in fact, she loved many aspects of it. She lived for the power she held in her hands and the success she tasted every single day of her life. Leaving all this glamour behind would be difficult, but then this glamour of elites is just a suffocating mist at times which could ruin a person. She didn't want to end up like her mother, although she had the most respect for her.

The doorbell rang and Nyx walked out of her room to check on the visitor. Thankfully, Gracie had opened the door and Nyx's personal doctor - Ted Matthews walked in.

"Hello, Miss Knight. You sounded urgent on the phone so I came as soon as I can." the man says.

Mr. Matthews was a kind man and an excellent doctor. Initially, he used to help Nyx if she fell ill but in recent times, he attended to Zion more. Mr. Matthews wasn't aware of the story behind Zion's injuries but he helped, anyway.

"Yes. Please follow me, doc. It's critical." she says.

Nyx took him to Zion. When they reached him, Mr. Matthews started examining his condition and Nyx helped him when he started treating Zion. He gave her a list of medicines to ease Zion's pain.

"These are some painkillers. Make sure to give them on time. Also, I know it's not my place to say so, but Miss Knight, whatever Zion is doing... he has to stop. This can't continue forever. He has broken his ribs, there are bruises on his body and his temperature is high. His body is protesting from all this torture. If this continues, then he would find himself in a hospital one day..." the doctor says.

Nyx simply nods since she knew that what the man was saying was absolutely true. She had to do something, fast.

The doctor takes his leave after giving instructions to Nyx. Zion would be waking up soon enough, the medicine given to him by Mr. Matthews should start working on him soon enough.

Nyx simply laid down beside him, waiting for his eyes to flutter open. She scrolled down her Instagram feed aimlessly as she waited but her patience was running out. She wanted to hear his heavenly voice again.

She played with the strands of his hair as he continued to sleep. She couldn't stop her fingers from running through his face, tracing them softly. She sighed as she realized that she would have to fight with him when he wakes up, somehow convince him to give up. But there seemed no end to this.

Gosh, how much she wished to tell him that she will be there for him to help him. She wanted him to know that he was and will never be alone, she will fight the world for him if it comes to that. He was her oxygen - without him, her heart will stop beating.

But some words remained unsaid and some feelings will remain a secret - she didn't want to ruin what they have. More importantly, she was scared of the rejection she might face if she ever confessed to him. She knew she wouldn't be able to handle it. Her heart was broken once when her mother died, and now Zion was the glue that was holding it from falling apart again. Without that glue, she would be ruined.

Time passed by as she continued to stare at him, waiting.

But the tiredness of the day started to get to her, her eyes giving away. She laid her head on his shoulder and snuggled into him, being careful of not touching his wounds.

And soon enough, she welcomed sleep.
