11 Mother?

It has been 5 days since Maria landed in the North Island. Every day, Maria would spend her time checking local beaches and checking the tracker. During this time, she tried to contact York, but she didn't answer. Maria was able to contact Booth, but he was a bit salty after having his arm stapled for no good reason. It is currently 4:30 and Maria is getting a call. The call wakes her up and she answers.

"Hello?" Maria struggles to mutter out.

"I HAVE NEWS!" She recognizes Booth's voice.

"Is it about Null?" Maria rubs her eyes. "Please tell me it is."

"YES!" Booth says excitingly. "Do you want to hear the good news or the bad news?"

"Tell me in chronological order." Maria tries to sound excited, but is too tired to put effort into her voice.

"Okay so," Booth explains. "I woke up at 3 am-"

"What does 'am' mean?" Maria asks.

"In the morning." Booth responds. "Anyway, so I decided to-"

"Why were you up at 3 in the first place." Maria groans.

"I'm sorry I can't control my narcolepsy!" Booth exclaims. "Anyways, If you'd let me finish, I decided to check on the tracker and Null was on Whar... War... Wha... A nearby beach."

"Oh shit." Maria stretches. "I'll be on my way."

"DON'T!" Booth shouts at his phone. "I checked the beach and I found a turtle with the tracker on it. Poor thing was stabbed with it pretty hard."

"Did you help it?" Maria asks. "I mean- Do you think Null is near?"

"Help the turtle?" Booth ponders. "Umm, sure... You could call it help. About Null, I think he could be on the island, so you should get over here."

"Okay," Maria gets out of her bed. "I'll be there as soon as I can." She hangs up.

Maria gets out of bed and then heads to her kitchen, which is just a fridge and a table. She thinks about it and realises that she doesn't have the time to eat. She doesn't have the time to change out of her long, black and white striped PJs. She doesn't have the time to get ready.

She slips on some slippers and quickly opens her door. When she looks out the door, she sees herself waving at her. First, she was confused. Why does this person look like me, but something quickly changed that.

"Hello, mother." The copy greeted themself. With this Maria knew what was going on and she slammed the door. Maria struggled to lock the door and continued to panic.

"That wasn't very nice of you, Maria." The copy says in the voice of Francesco. Maria identifies the copy as null without even seeing it.

Maria didn't respond and pondered what to do. Null doesn't seem to be trying to break in, so Maria calls Booth back.

"Hello?" Booth answers.

"GET. HERE. NOW!" Maria demands.

"Calm down." Booth yawns. "What is it?"

"NULL. HERE. OUTSIDE!"

"On my way." Booth says before hanging up.

"I can hear you, ya know." Null goes back to their Maria impression. "You don't have to be this mean."

"I won't if you stop killing people." Maria sassed back.

"Or I could just kill you." Null adds.

Maria looks around for any other options. "Why would you do that?" Maria says to stall Null.

"I think it would be fun." Null explains. "You know, 'I put you into this, I can take you out' but instead of take you into this world... uhhh... hold on. You... put me into- into this world, but I will take you out. Not taking you out like on a date, that would be weird."

While Null was saying this, Maria jumped out her kitchen window. Once she lands, she rips off a pipe attached to her motel and runs.

Null realized this after a few seconds and chased after her. Null catches up with Maria and grabs her by the collar. Null drops the disguise.

"Enough playing around." Null lifts up Maria, who is trying to break out of its grasp. "I have something to show you."

"THIS IS STUPID!" Maria shouts at Null while it drags her along a sidewalk.

Null walked past a group of 10 soldiers that were sent to take it down, then the soldiers noticed.

"OI!" One of the soldiers threw a rock at Null.

Null sets down Maria. "Stay here." Null demands.

As Null rushes toward the soldiers, Maria picks up her pipe and hides behind a nearby building.

Null punches through one of the soldiers and throws the body at the other soldiers. One soldier hit Null with the butt of their rifle, which pushed Null back a bit. Null promptly ripped off their head.

As Null rips through the other soldiers, Maria is taking her time to think up a strategy. After considering her options, she leaps out of cover and strikes Null on the back of its head. Null gets knocked to the floor for a couple of seconds, then it gets back up.

"Is this a joke?" Null said in an upset manner. "If so, I was not programmed to understand it. So tell me, is this supposed to be funny?"

Maria did not respond.

Before anything else could happen, an orange colored helicopter speed toward the 2 of them. It has 6 heavily armored people fast rope down and reveal their arms.

"Hello again." One of the armored people says to the 2. "Maria, Null, I apologize for being late."

"Booth?" Maria identifies the individual suited in heavy armor.

The helicopter lands and a man exits the co-pilot seat. This man is Mckinley.

"Excuse me," Maria somehow utters. "I just woke up 10 minutes ago and I'd like to ask WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!"

"I can explain!" Booth exclaims. "A couple days ago I- wait, hold on." Booth pulls out a shotgun attached to his back and shoots Null in the leg. "Anyway, when I was looking for that bitch, I got an offer from this Ronald Mckinley guy and he said he wanted to help us in taking down Null."

"He wants to recycle Null." Maria explains. "It'll cause this to happen again, and again, and again."

"Recycling is good." Booth says back. "I think you're just paranoid."

"Maybe a bit," She agrees. "But Null killed peopl-"

"Excuse me," Null looks up from looking at its legs. "I'm not going to kill anyone. I came here to talk."

Booth stares at the machine before being motioned to stand down by Mckinley.

"Speak." Kindle says behind the armed men.

"I know that I got off with you all on the wrong foot," Null starts. "but I found something you might think is interesting."

"Only if you let Maria go." Mckinley demands.

Null shoves Maria toward the group and then motions for them to follow it. As they follow Null, Maria talks to Booth.

"You really did just betray me?" Maria asks.

"Am I gonna listen to the person who indirectly gave me Narcolepsy or the person who gave me this badass yet heavy armor?"

"Null is going to kill all of us." She tells him.

"We are equipped to handle it-" He tells her back.

"No, we aren't." She shuts him down. "I thought that back in Rio de Janeiro, in Dublin, and in the Falklands. Were we? No! We had the backup of a nation's military and still lost. We are not equipped."

Booth doesn't respond.

They continue to walk for a good while before Null stops at a small hill.

"It's just a hill." Mckinley says in confusion.

"Can we destroy it now?" Booth asks.

"Wait a minute, Brick Brain." Null glares down at Booth. "I'm sure the crazy violent South American cultist didn't lie to me."

"What?" McKindley asks.

"It's a long story." Booth says. "Now get on with it."

"I think they said something about 'Difemanim'." Null thinks aloud.

As it says this, the hill slowly opens up, leading to a dungeon like hall.

"Well I'll be damned." McKinley's metaphorical jaw dropped. "I guess that's it then. Alright Null, you're coming with us."

"Not so fast." Null kneels down to McKinley's height. "I came here for something in there and you might wanna see it."

"I thought this would've taken longer, so I guess I have time." McKinley said. "What do you think, Maria?"

Maria isn't saying anything. Just grumbling to herself and scratching her thumb.

"I'll take that as a 'sure'." McKinley answers for her. "Let's go."

Null waits for the group to walk in the hallway. Maria glares at Null before moving forward. Once everyone else made their way inside, Null followed them.

As the group walked down the hall, Null scanned one of the armed men. They continued until the group encountered someone who appeared to be a starved monk blocking a doorway. Null walked in front of the group to talk to the man.

"¿Por qué viniste aquí?" The Monk asks.

"Te arrancaré miembro a miembro y aplastaré tu maldita alma si no nos dejas pasar." Null leans toward the Monk.

"Una bestia impía como tú no puede hacerle nada a mi alma." The Monk gets closer to Null. "Mátame, no te servirá de nada a largo plazo."

Null grabbed the monk and tossed him to the side. "He is not a threat, continue." Null tells the group.

As they walk through the doorway, Null waits for the group to move past it and then squats down.

"Difemanim no es una herramienta." The Monk tells Null. "Él te matará si siquiera piensas en-"

Null steps on the Monk's head, crushing it instantly. "Difemanim puede besar mi trasero." Null says to the corpse. Null kicks the corpse before following the group.

As Null walks in, he sees that the room has a mummified corpse holding a strange glowing orb. Mckinley holds his hand back as he approaches the corpse.

"Do you know what this is?" McKinley asks Null.

"I'd assume this is Cartone." Null says as he walks closer to the corpse then McKinley. "But I could've sworn that the 'Almighty' Difemanim would be here as well.

"Maybe it's the orb." Maria sarcastically says.

"Maybe," Null thinks aloud. "but I wouldn't touch it."

McKinley elbows one of the armed men. "Go grab that orb." McKinley whispers.

The man walks toward the orb before Null steps in the way.

"I've been stalling for long enough." Null blocks the armed man. "So I would say I'm sorry, but that would be a lie."

Before he could ask, Null grabs him by the neck and tosses it toward the rest of the group.

The armed men open fire as Maria and McKinley try to escape. While Maria makes it out of the room, McKinley was too close to Null to get away. Null holds up McKinley as the armed men riddle him with bullets.

"I guess he just picked some random people off the street." Null taunts the group.

Null does the same thing it did a few seconds before and toss the body he was holding again. This time, Null follows it up with tackling one of the men. With this, there are 3 more armed men left... and Booth.

One man runs to Null's right as another runs to Nulls left. They both try to do a coordinated attack with one having a shotgun and another having a rotary grenade launcher. Null crushes the arm of the one with the grenade launcher and then headbutts the one with the shotgun.

The shotgun man gets back up and punches Null. This hurts the man's hand and Null follows it up with putting its fist in their mouth and spreading it's fingers out, penetrating the roof and floor of his mouth.

Null turns it's head to the final grunt. The grunt puts his hands up.

"Look man, I'll let you do you if you let me go." The man pleads.

"There's always a coward." Null shakes its head. "Go on then, fuck off."

The grunt runs to the opposite end of the Null, picks up a dropped shotgun, and rushes Null. The grunt blasts Null in the abdomen, knocking it down. Null pushes itself back up from the ground and snaps the grunts gun. Before the grunt could react, Null shoves a piece of the shotgun down his throat and kicks him in the stomach.

"Why am I not surprised." Null tells the beaten man. "I'll leave you to suffocate or something, I have one more person to take care of-"

Booth shoots Null in the back, knocking it back down. Null tries to get back up, but Booth shoots it again.

"You talk too much." Booth mocks Null.

"James," Null transforms into one of the armed men he scanned from before. "Listen, I know I gave you a bunch of brain damage and you've been stalking me with some weird tracking device like the dirty boy you are, but we can talk this out."

Null looked up at where Booth was and didn't see him. Booth passed out while Null was saying whatever it was trying to say and Null just noticed this. Null got up and looked at him.

"Huh." Null gives Booth a light kick to the chest. "That was disappointing. That should be everyone, but I feel like I forgot something."

Maria runs back into the room and hits Null in the back of its head with the pipe from earlier.

"Shit." Null whispers in a faked panicked whisper. "Wh- what are you doing?"

Maria holds up the pipe to in a show of power and a bit of a threat.

"Ma'am, the robot got away." Null conutines to fake its voice. "Put the weapon down. I have a family."

"Shhh." Maria leans over Null. "That facade isn't going to work. Your killing spree ends here."

"So yours can continue?" Null distracts her. "You and Null have killed a similar amount of people."

"What do you mean?" Maria asks, frustrated.

"Shipman, these men, McKinley, the soldiers in the Falklands, the Queen." Null lists. "All of these people have been indirectly killed by you. And for what?"

"So I can stop you." Maria snaps back.

"But Maria," Null halts her. "You created Null. Nulls kills are your kills. It's just that I'm your first direct kill. Killing me will start the conformation of you being a murder."

"I killed nobody." Maria lowers her hand. "YOU'RE LYING!"

"Either way," Null smirks with the stolen face it uses. "Killing me will make that a lie. So are you going to kill a bystander and become a murder or help me find that monster you made."

Maria stares at Null for a while. She knows that Null isn't some random american merc, but a killer. But staring down this defeated man, it makes her feel uncomfortable. It makes her feel like she is the killer.

Maria drops the pipe. "I hate you." She mumbles.

Null slowly gets back up and quickly tosses the pipe at the mummy holding the orb. "I want to say you are an idiot, but you are just a human. A human who feels guilty, a flaw in which I do not have."

"Then what are you going to do?" Maria asks. "Take the glowy orb and kill me? What will you do after that?"

"With the 'orb'," Null answers. "I can leave this world and fine targets that are more fun to hunt." Null grabs the orb.

"You have killed many I see." The Orb tells Null. "I am-"

"Difemanim, I heard." Null finishes the orb's sentence. "You know what I want. But not yet."

"I am the stronges-" Difemanim tries to threaten Null.

"Yeah," Null squeezes Difemanim. "I heard. Now shut up. We won't leave until I tell my mother something."

Difemanim stops talking.

"If you're gonna leave, why did you have to kill so many people?" Maria asks.

"Number one, I like to kill people." Null clarifies. "Number two, I will come back here after a while. Take that time to get ready up. I'd assume that it would take a month in this universe for me to come back. Once I do, we can play again."

"No." That was the only word that Maria could slip out.

"Goodbye, mother." Null says as it fades away. "I'll see you soon."
