9 Visiting the Mysterious Garden - 3

Hello, my name is Rayner, Ray in brief and I just celebrated my 5th birthday not that long ago.

I know, I know my name sounds like a fantasy decor hero's name, but trust me, I'm not Or so I believe.

And why is that, because I think most heroes start their lives from a humble bottom emerging from difficulties.

As for me, my background is anything but humble. I am the prince of one of the greatest kingdom, albeit only in name.

That's not all, my mother is an archangel, and also the Priestess of the Twin Goddess Temple.

I was born with above average intelligence and even though I try to act as childish as I can, but for some reason people around me started circulating rumours about me having an unprecedented intelligence.

But if that wasn't it, I triggered my magic awakening not too long ago and results were shocking. My talent in magic is second to none in the entire world.

This would be a blessing for others, but not for me and why is that, let me tell you why.

My mother is what we call a overly protective and obsessive type. Normally I like this side of my mom, but lately it's been causing me some trouble.

Not long ago I became too fixated on learning the sword and when I asked my mother if I could learn using the sword, she said I should wait until I awaken my magic.

I could say she was just making reason of keeping me from learning the sword.

But her restrictions got even more escalated when I awaked magic.

On top of the fact that I still am not allowed to learn swordsmanship I also got a bodyguard who monitors me all the time.She even faked my the test result when the royal family tried to check my magic power.

The only good things about this that the bodyguard is a maid sister.

At first, I had no idea why my mother was doing this, but eventually I realized she was doing all this to protect me.

Being a prince the more attention I attract, the more people will covet me or attempt to get rid of me.

Though I don't think that not learning the sword or hiding my power was the solution, but I still decided to do what my mother says.

But eventually I couldn't handle my curiosity for sword so I came up with a plan that I thought was perfect, but then I realized I was stupid.

Ray was sitting under a tree with off mood

'Waaah...no..... How I can be such a fool. '

' It was already lunch time and the arena should be nearly empty by now, so now there was no reason for me to visit. '

' To fall asleep when I had such an important mission, I'm really dumb. '

After screwing up his whole plan Ray wasn't in the best of his mood.

He was just sitting under a tree and couldn't figure out what to do now.

Looking at Ray, Valerina realized he looked kind of sad.

She had no idea what caused it, but if she has to guess it has something to do with him falling asleep.

But she wasn't much concerned because she had just the thing needed to cheer him up.

"Young master, we are all set for lunch. "

Hearing Valarina call him for lunch, he got up and made his way to the tent.

Looking at the huge tent with a table underneath it Ray wasn't even surprised

It's just that he thinks it's foolish to set up such huge tents and camps when you're not even going to spend more than a few hours here.

' But considering Sister Rina can set it up in as little as 5 minutes maybe it's just fine. '

As soon as Ray arrived at the tent, he saw her setting up the table, so he pulled his skirt and asked.

" Sister Rina what do we have for lunch "

Valarina had just finished setting the table, so she rolled over and lowering herself to Ray's level, she said.

"Since young master said that he wanted to have a picnic, I had my mother put together something special for the picnic. "

As she said that, she pulled her palm in front of him, channeling mana through her body she cast a magic spell.

Surprisingly, she cast the spell without pronouncing a single word and immediately a magical circles appear in front of her hand.

*Woosh..!* * Woosh..! *

Suddenly Ray had felt cold water gushing over his body followed by gusty winds and before knowing his entire body with his clothes were clean.

She then picked him up and placed him on the chair.

" Here is your crispy golden shrimp sandwich "

Saying that she placed the plate infront of him .

The sandwich loaded incredibly tasty, it was loaded with shrimp and oozing with gravy and it smelled amazing.

Seeing the food, Ray started drooling uncontrollably.

" Eat slow and make sure you keep some room for blueberry cheesecake. "

" Cheesecake? "

" Yes, Madam baked some just this morning "

"Mama made it... Yaaaaaaa "

*growling...! *

Unable to control his hunger anymore Ray started eat .

" Mmmm.... lili..cious "

Ray wanted to say delecious but with his mouth filled to brim he couldn't even speak properly .

" Young master, no talking while eating. "

" Mmm"

Ray nodded while gobbling up food.

After finishing the lunch he went back to sitting under the tree .

" Ugh... I think I overeat my stomach is full to the brim. "

" Well it's not my fault the sandwich and the cheesecake were too tasty "

While Ray was resting beneath the tree, Valerina quickly had her lunch.

After tidying up the table, she quickly unfolded the tent and put everything back in her spatial pocket.

Completing the ongoing work Valerina took her pocket watch to take a look at the time. Then she watched the dark clouds soaring in the sky.

" Hum... We still have some time before we go back. "

She then went to the tree where Ray was seated.

Realizing that someone had come close to him, Ray turned around.

Looking at Valerina Ray said.

" Sister Rina, why don't we play some game. "

On hearing his request, Valerina smiled softly at him and replied.

" Sure, which game the young master wants to play. "

Ray just knew what he wanted to play.

" Hide and seek, let's play hide and seek. "

Although he said it was a game of hide-and-seek, but what he really wanted was to test himself against an Assassin's skill.

" Okay, I'll hide and young master will find me. "

It wasn't the first time she played hide-and-seek with him, so as usual, she decided to let be the seeker.

" No, I'll hide and Sister Rina will find me. "

Even though she never told Ray about her an assassin under training but he was still having an idea of her not being a normal maid.

" Young master Are you sure "

He was going to have a great deal of trouble hiding from her, but he still decided to do it.

" Don't go too far away and make sure to stay away from the forest."

After receiving another lengthy lesson from Valerina regarding security, Ray asked.

" Sister Rina, it's time to start playing. "

" Ok than I will count till hundred till then young master should go and hide "

She turned around and began counting.

" One...two....three...."

' Run '

Ray began to run towards one direction.

Once Ray reached some distance, he stopped.

"hAhuh...huh...hAhuh

" This..... this should be far enough "

" I hope it works like this last time "

Leaning on a tree just in case he messed up Ray begin channeling mana into his legs.

All of a sudden, the wind began to blow around her legs, and as if the air under his legs began to harden, he was floating in the air.

" Woohoo....I am flying "

Too bad his excitement wasn't long lived.

Using magic, he couldn't get more than three feet up in the air.

" Maybe not, it's like walking through the air instead of flying. "

" At least it works out the way I wanted it to. "

" Well gossips aside let's run "

He changed direction and started racing in another direction.
