8 Gaining Another Level, Reaching Level Two

He noticed that the more he was immersed in using his skills repeatedly, the more critical damage he would gain. After doing this round, killing four more monsters, he had emptied half of his Stm meter, leaving him more relaxed in dealing with the remaining five monsters.

The five monsters were moving chaotically, all around the place, trying to hit him with horns in their heads, while their tails acted like whips, attacking him out of nowhere.

Amidst the previous round, he had suffered some attacks, losing half of his Hp. It wasn't that serious, but he decided to act safely. So , he used slice skill, moved in an oblique course, sheathing his two swords, and emptying one Hp potion in one gulp.

His Hp regained its full state at once, while he unsheathed his sword, and continued his second round of attacks.

"Stab."

"Stab."

"Slice."

"Stab."

"Ground breaker."

"Stab."

"Stab."

"Slice."

"Stab."

"Ground breaker."

"Stab."

Monsters started to fall one by one under the barrage of his two swords. He was now fighting to his heart's content, with his Stm meter was now lower than ten percent, and with it the last monster fell on the ground.

Just as he was panting, a green flash of light descended upon him, making him level up again, followed by two system notifications. He hurriedly opened the list of notifications, finding nine similar ones, and the last two that came with his leveling up.

"System alert: player has killed level two monster. player has gained thirty Xp."

"System alert: player has killed level two monster. player has gained thirty Xp."

"System alert: player has killed level two monster. player has gained thirty Xp."

.

.

.

"System alert: player has killed level two monster. player has gained thirty Xp."

"System alert: player has leveled up."

"System alert: player has gained five Fps, one Sp, and one Tp."

Ten monsters, each gave him thirty Xp, making him gain three hundred Xp, added to the fifty he already had, he was enough to rise to the next level.

"Wow, never imagined I would reach level two this fast," he cheered up while checking the Xp needed for the next level, to find it being doubled. He needed seven hundred Xp for the next level.

"Sigh, I think I won't be this lucky ever again."

He shook his head, knowing the Xp would continue to soar from here on. killing a group or two of monsters wouldn't be enough to raise him one level, as he would need to kill at least thirty monsters, higher than his level with one level at least.

"Let's think about it another time, now I choose to unlock the gathering skill," he said, as he decided to open this main skill, and start gathering materials from these monsters.

"System alert: Collecting skill is now unlocked."

"Collecting skill: Active skill. Lifestyle skill. allows the player to collect materials from monsters equal, lower, or three levels higher than him. for higher leveled monsters, please upgrade the skill. Cooldown: ten seconds."

"Nice," he cheered, as he had this essential skill. He then distributed his points, one to Resilience as well, making his Stm meter reach forty points, and the other two went to his Strn, making it reach fifty five points.

"Next time I would upgrade my Vit and Str together," he muttered, as he closed his character page, before looking down towards the bodies of these monsters, with that infinity mark floating over them.

"Let's have some materials."

He then went ahead, and started using his collecting skill one time after another.

"Collecting skill."

"System alert: you have collected level one monster tail."

"Collecting skill."

"System alert: you have collected level one monster fur."

"Collecting skill."

"System alert: you have collected level one monster horn."

"Collecting skill."

"System alert: you have collected level one monster hooves."

"Collecting skill."

"System alert: you have collected level one monster teeth."

"Collecting skill."

"System alert: there is nothing else to collect from this monster. the monster's body will vanish in one minute."

A system prompt came telling him he couldn't take any more materials from this dead mammoth. Each monster had a fixed number of materials based on his level.

All materials taken from normal monsters like these ones would be classified by the system according to their levels. He didn't wait and went to the next monster, and started collecting the five materials of it.

When he finished, he had ten materials each of the five main materials he collected from this monster. He thought about going to that tiger, but he just dismissed the idea. He didn't want to face these tigers now, so he decided to wait until he reached level four, unlocked his desired talent, then go back and teach these tigers a lesson.

He was now ready to move to the next spot. He didn't need to run for much time, as after two minutes' distance of walking from the mammoths, he found apes, hard to deal with monsters.

"Investigation skill," he muttered.

"Ape monster: level four monster."

He knew he could take level four monsters if he wanted, but dealing with an agile based monster wasn't the perfect choice for him. He decided to skip them, and headed towards another monster group. They were a bunch of crocodile-like monsters, with eight thick and long legs, and a huge agile tail that ended with a forked end.

"Investigation skill."

"Crocodile monster: level three monster."

It was good for him, as he didn't want to aim higher than one level difference, and he definitely didn't want to fight a monster at his level or lower.

He checked his Stm meter again, making sure it was fully restored now after running these minutes, then he walked in, heading towards one rear monster.
