1 My Baby

After years of struggling to hear the cry of a baby in their house,they were finally blessed with a baby girl on a Sunday afternoon. Little did they know no one holds the future. Their precious baby was going to be left alone someday. This is the ruling of Mother Earth unfortunately no one can predict time. The question is was it worthy it to bring her on this earth. Is there a chance to give her some siblings? It was all the beginning of Miracle's unknown story. She was named Miracle because her mom , Ivy had several miscarriages for 15 years. Way before the miscarriages Ivy was impregnated by her boyfriend, Rhodes, at the age of 13.

Back then,they were still living in a small village called Tuzuka near the boader post of Mozambique. The place was very hot and too cultural. Ivy being pregnant at the age of 13 was recognised as an abomination to her family. Her mother couldn't take it and she sent her away from the house. She went to her uncle's house to hide there until the uncle helped her to reach her boyfriend's family. This was a tragedy for her, the worst nightmare of her life. Rhode's parents didn't not approve of the pregnancy at first and they didn't welcome Ivy in their home. But they always say love conquers everything. Rhodes loved Ivy so much, he fought until his parents came to understand that their son had made a choice. Ivy was welcomed into Rhodes family although lobola wasn't yet paid for. Still Ivy's mother felt betrayed and she didn't want to hear anything about her. It was difficult for Ivy she had no one to share with her problems,she only had her supporting boyfriend who was still finishing his O levels at that time. She gave birth to a baby boy they named him Norma. Rhodes asked his parents to help him with lobola , they went to Ivy's family to pay their honour and to formally ask a hand in marriage. This is the time she started talking to her mom.

When her baby Norma was a year old she went back to school to finish her O level studies. As if it wasn't enough one day , on her last exam she came back home as usual, only to find her son sick. It didn't last hours Ivy and Rhodes lost their son at the age of 2. It was the most painful moment of their lives. But these two were so in love , their love was the only thing that kept them going. As it is said African villages are filled with witchcraft, it was all a myth the cause of death of their baby. They chose to ignored it and moved on with their lives. Rhodes got a job in the city were he moved 2years after loosing their baby. Ivy was left behind for sometime until her husband now, Rhodes decided to take to town too. This was it their sad love story, from this time until 15years later they were trying to have a baby. Right on the verge of giving up , Miracle came into picture.

Miracle brought light, hope and joy in their lives. When Ivy got pregnant to this baby, Rhodes stopped drinking alcohol. He started going to church , he promised to be the best father ever. Ivy was overwhelmed. The two did everything they could for their baby. Fortunately the baby grew up as an intelligent and smart kid. This even made them more proud. They put high expectations on Miracle and became overprotective. This in-turn made Miracle a different child. She was trained to face the challenges of the world at tender age. She was reminded to be her own boss. Miracle was sent to a girls boarding school were she learnt to be independent too. This was also the beginning of her journey. She met friends and explored a lot. She passé with good grades and went to University.

Miracle wasn't involved in any relationship in her teenage phases. In all her mind was business, hustling and gaming. So mostly she enjoyed being around male friends to which her parents weren't comfortable. They became more stricter on her. This created a distance relationship between her and her parents. Instead of seeing love, she felt suffocated. She started lying to her parents in order to get her freedom. Until one morning she woke up and sit her parents down. Right in her second year in University when their relationship was being modified back Ivy and Rhodes were involved in a car accident. They died on spot. Right before Miracle graduates, before seeing their grandchildren before seeing the life they ever wished for. Miracle was left alone in this cruel world. Was it worth to be on this earth, a question Ivy and Rhodes left for Miracle. They left her vulnerable, with no purpose,so broken and empty.
