[Flashback of prev chapter]

'Well that's enough for now. Why don't you just have fun for the rest of the night? I hope you will find your mate, and don't worry, I believe your mate will be strong and be able to protect the pack along with you.'

'Thanks dad but... why didn't you just tell me this tomorrow?'

'Well... I won't be able to. Your mother and I will be leaving at midnight.'

Our mind link broke and I just ended up staring at him, my mouth agape but I couldn't utter a word.

They're leaving... There might be a war that would finish us off... and Ulrika is coming.

All of the new information was clashing in my mind but one stood out in particular.

'Rose... she's as beautiful yet as fragile as a flower, would she be able to stand as my Luna? I... don't want her to get hurt.'

[Rose P.O.V.]

Kristie, Olivia, and I have been hiding behind this counter for quite some time now waiting for Devon's conversation with his father to be over and truthfully, my back is aching like hell now. Try being scrunched up / squatting behind a counter knowing that even if a hair is sticking out, you're busted!!! And now, imagine it doing so while making sure your really short dress does not reveal anything!!!

Ugh! It's killing me. The other two look just fine though even if they were wearing really high heels... why doesn't that surprise me?

[Kristie P.O.V.]

God!!! We have been standing here for who knows how long!!! My feet are killing me!!! Well it is thanks to my heels that my back isn't hurting right now. It is actually easier to squat with heels, you should try it sometime.

Anyway, back to the topic. It looks just about time for their conversation to end. Alpha Claude ruffled Dev's hair as if to brighten the moon. He then opened his arms and both shared a manly hug, as if they were already saying goodbye... why though?

Oh~ maybe it's actually a congratulatory hug! =) yeah that's it.

When Alpha Claude finally left, we all went to approach him but guess what? Conner and the others were also making their way towards him~ how wooonderfull~ {note the deadly sarcasm}

'CANT WE JUST HAVE ONE MOMENT OF SILANCE TO CLARIFY A VEEERY IMPORTANT MATTER?!!! YEASH!!!'

Dev and Connor shared a glance, Obviously talking to him using the mind link and thus the obvious nod of the head by Connor.

'Urggg!!! Just one moment! Please moon goddess just like, five minutes. Can't you give it to us?'

"Hey hey hey~ Kris-kris, Oli-pops. Come with us for a while, its important."

... the nicknames? Seriously?... those nicknames... *sigh*

"Sure thing Marky ~ " I gave a smile and proceeded to follow him, as soon as he turned around Nuntis decided to let out a murderous aura. But as soon as Connor turned around once more with a surprised look on his face, I was able to suppress it, of course with a little help from Sköll.

Oh yeah just to make things clear Connor's name is actually Markeous Connor Evans. Haha I love Mrs. Evans and all but she's horrible at guy names. She's pretty good at girl names though. Like her daughters, Rochelle Evans and Adeline Louise Evans... now that I think about it I don't really know Rose's full name...

"What is it?" I asked, in the most innocent voice and smile I could muster. For a while I saw him blushing? Ehh, must have been the lights playing with my eyes.

"Oh no nothing, I guess I was just mistaken"

"Hmmm~"

"And... stop calling me by that name! Only my mom is allowed to call me that."

"Sure thing mommas' boy"

[Connor P.O.V.]

For a moment there I thought I felt day energy. But in the split second I checked, it was gone. It was either they had somehow infiltrated us already, or just the nerves playing on me. God- ever since last night when my father told me about the upcoming war... and the coming of the great wolf, I had been wrecked with nerves!!!

What will happen to our pack now that the alpha is leaving?! Man, I know that Dev's gonna be turned alpha today but how would he be able to manage the pack without the help from his father when he can't even manage the girls he plays. Trust me, if I hadn't been there to keep them away, the pack house should have been raided by them years ago!

Well, he did tone down his 'playtime' this past few months... maybe he's finally maturing for his mate.

God everything would be so much easier if that were the case.

"So, why'd you bring us here momma's boy?" I heard the sweetest voice in the world say and droned out a bit before I realized who it belonged to... oh god why?! What is happening to me?!

I looked around and found that we were already in the kitchen, wow, didn't realize I had zoned out for so long...

"Well Kristie you get this" I got the cake which I have no idea where it came from and face Olivia before saying "Olivia you hold this." I handed to her the popping confetti thing I had in my pocket before getting out another one

"Now come on, follow me then on my signal you pop the confetti then you give the cake to me and spray this on him." I pointed to Olivia then Kristie accordingly. Then got out whipping crème to show them and shoved it back into my back pocket. Btw (by the way) just in case you were wondering, I'm wearing regular jeans, the black tux jacket thing, and a white polo shirt. Oh yeah and also my black vans.

"Why'd you get whipping crème?" Kristie asked

"Why?... shouldn't it be whipping crème?..."

"you are sooo- *sigh*. No you idiot, it should be either spray cheese or the spray yarn thing, but mostly the spray yarn thing... why did you think it to be whipping crème?"

"Sooo it's all in cans right? Then it's fine!"

"*sigh* seriously, how in the world do you maintain in the top 5 rank in your class is a wonder."

"hehehe it's just the same as how you manage to stay in the honors class~ wait now that I think about it you never really told us what your rank is."

"She's top —" Olivia spoke but a hand covered her mouth before she was able to continue... wait what?! I looked at the cake that Kristie was supposed to be holding in my hands... how'd it get there?

"Hey how'd you?" I looked at Kristie again but saw her glare at me. Awww she looks so cute pissed off~ wait... no... no she is not.

"Nevermind." I gave her back the cake and waves my hand

"To the birthday boy we go~"
