Flying to Berk

(Zoya's POV)

"Just five more minutes" I groaned as I felt something pushing me. Slowly I stood up and looked at Astrid. "We need to go now or else we won't make it before it gets dark you know" She said.

She wanted to take off immediately but I convinced her to at least eat something. Somehow I have to remind her to eat or else she would have starved to death already.

I ate as much as I could eat. Even after I was full I forced myself to eat a few more fish because I didn't exactly know how long the flight will take. I hope that I won't get hungry when we are too far away from any island.

(Time skip)

"It's time to go now" Astrid stretched herself and walked towards me. I walked to a place were I thought I would have an easy time to take off and waited for Astrid to get on my back. She leaned forward "Thank you for helping me" She whispered in my ear.

After that we took of I flew a last time around the island. " I think I will miss this place" Speaking of it according to the text Astrid showed me this island is like a secret restaurant for dragons because it has the best fish. But does that mean that every other fish tastes worse than the ones I ate up until now?"

Suddenly I remembered the taste of raw fish from when I was still a human. After making one final turn I flew above the clouds and was once again happy I was never scared of heights. There was a tremendous tailwind above the clouds probably making the rest of the flight way easier for me.

Astrid leaned a bit to the side correcting my course and then we just flew in silence. Even if we wanted to talk it would be really hard because it's hard to write while flying.

As I stared at the clouds I closed my eyes a bit. My vison got a bit blurry and after I focused enough I could see red and blue colored air. "What does that mean?" I asked myself. The answer of that question answered itself. I flew through a bright red zone and I felt something pressing my wings up. "I can see wind currents? That makes it 100 times easier to fly long distances!" I can just use upwind (don't know if that word exists) to keep flying. I won't even have to move my wings!"

I felt like a paraglider and a rocket with wings. After we reached a spot with no clouds I saw how fast we actually were and I felt like I could co even faster.

(Astrid's POV)

"SO this is how Hiccup feels?" It's definitely different from riding a Deadly nadder. Zoya's Movements are much more elegant and gentle than Stormfly's. She only has to twist her wings a little and we already go into a completely different direction.

Maybe the reason for that is that a Night fury's wings are way bigger in comparison to a Deadly nadder. Zoya flew so smooth and fast but I think I still like Stormfly's way of flying more.

(Zoya's POV)

As I flew I suddenly felt Astrid's body leaning forward until she was basically lying on my back. "Are you asleep?" I asked. Even though she can't understand me I still expected an reaction but I didn't get one. "Well then now I am alone"

That's how Dad's must feel when they have to focus on the road and the rest of the family is just doing things like sleeping, reading, eating, gaming and he just has to stare on the road.

My thoughts shifted to an image of my little brother and my parents driving the car. I'm sure he's happy now. "After your stupid sister is gone you finally have all the attention for yourself. enjoy it!" I imagined screaming at him. It was a joyful daydream. Well... until my parents walked in and screamed at me.

"Shut it!" I screamed at myself shaking my head. If you fall asleep while flying I don't want to know where we will end so FOCUS!"

From now on it's going to be a long flight.

(time skip (and a long one at that))

(Astrid's POV)

I woke up after I felt drops of water on my neck. I looked up. "How long did I sleep?" I spoke to myself. "Oh shit" I said as I saw that we were approaching a big ass storm. I looked around and saw a statue. "Wait... Does that mean that Berk is IN that storm?"

That made our situation worse. "We have to go back above the clouds" I said and immediately Zoya gained height. We flew for minutes over the big black clouds. "Do you really want to land there?" I asked her and she nodded.

"Ok then I'll better hold tight." I said. After that Zoya folded her wings so that the wind only had about 3/5 of the surface and then she dove down. Rain hit us right after we clashed in the clouds.

After we flew through the clouds we could see Berk. We continued and approached the great hall very quickly.

(Zoya's POV)

Astrid hopped off my back even before we landed and covered her face with her hands. I spread my wings to land but a gust of wind blew at me throwing me directly in the forest. I could hear Astrid screaming my name before I blacked out.
