Ordinary High School Life

It's a beautiful day outside.

Birds are singing.

Flowers are blooming…

On days like these, it's a great day to start.

For a sunlight to shine through a window can someone wake up.

A teenage boy woke up and started his day by rubbing its eyes. Following to stand up, he went into the bathroom for him to wash his face.

Next, he starts cooking his breakfast.

A pan making a frying sound as he cooks bacon and egg.

Toasting the bread and putting butter in it.

Pouring miso soup after heating up.

After fully preparing the food, he starts eating it in the living room.

The house has a dining room, but he chose to eat in the living room instead. The reason was he wanted to watch TV while eating.

And then after eating, he takes a bath next.

After taking a bath, he wore clothes that he's supposed to be wearing.

Reflecting at the mirror was…

A school uniform.

A particular school uniform is made of the finest materials and is extremely fashionable. A long-sleeved white polo with a necktie is worn over a navy color blazer with white edging on certain areas, such as the cuffs.

The reason he woke up early was indeed for school. He's a high school student, 1st year to be exact.

"Alright, time to go."

DING-DONG!

To the sound of the bell.

In a snow that fully melted, a pinkish scenery has manifested.

Walking to a wide brick road that is fully surrounded by a bloom of prune trees.

The sight of cherry blossoms was delightful. Plus, adding the breeze of the wind, blowing the pink petals around, makes it more eye-catching.

This beautiful scenery.

We can say it's really already spring.

"Wow, pretty…"

For the students who on their way to school were fascinated by the scenery.

Some students were trying to take a pic, while some were just sitting at the bench and enjoying the view.

But their viewing has come to an end when a church bell sound is heard from afar.

"Shoot, we're already late."

While a ding-dong sound echoing through the blue sky, the students that left behind to gaze at the pink atmosphere start running.

Following the brick road, rushing their way to school as the sound of the bell gets louder.

The sound was coming from the school.

And after some long ringing, it finally stops.

"Okay, everyone, go to your seat, the class is starting."

The teacher started the class by checking the attendance.

Calling each student by their seat arrangement.

Aligning the row of seats that alternates from boy and girl, called by their family's name, they answered politely.

"Tanaka."

"Present."

"Katou."

"Present."

"Kobe."

…

"Kobe?..."

For someone not to respond, and the seat was empty, means the person is not there.

"Seems she's absent… then carry on."

And just like that, with someone being absent, the teacher only marks the attendance nothing more and just continues the roll call.

In most schools, it's normal to have absent students per class. It was ordinary to have 1 to 5 or more so.

"Andou."

"Present."

"Hashimoto."

"Present."

"Ogawa."

"Present."

"Ishii."

"Present."

"Kono."

…no one answered.

"Kono?..."

Looking at the seat, it was empty as well.

"Hmm, another one is absent…"

"P-Present!"

With a loud voice, a teenage boy enters the room.

Sweating and looking exhausted, as if he sprinted all the way there.

Fortunately, he made it. However, the teacher already marked him as absent.

"Alright, Kono Kouji is here. Come in."

But thankfully the teacher was nice and let him in.

"Um… I'm here too."

Following Kono, a girl in his back spoke.

"Oh, Kobe is here as well. Come in already, the class is starting."

Then for Kono and Kobe going to their seats, the class starts. It appears that Kono was the last one in the attendance list.

And so on, the teacher teaches the class.

Students were listening, however like always, there were some either sleeping or not listening to the class like looking out the window, talking with friends, and some were fiddling with their phone.

Anyhow, they get found out and scolded.

Although that's just how high school life is.

Finally, when an hour passes, a new teacher will switch over with a new subject. So a new thing to learn for every teacher that comes in each hour.

The teacher teaches.

The student listens.

That's what they do, nothing more.

Well… It's not technically all studying. There are things that are different, such as break and P. E.

"Okay class! Tomorrow, we're going to have a test, so prepare for it.

"Alright, Kiiro-sensei."

"Now, the class is dismissed."

At 4 pm, school ends.

The time for the students to go home.

Clearing their own table.

And leaving the school with friends or alone.

Except, there are some who stay behind for club activities.

While those who don't have clubs, they go home straight.

Other than that, there are some who have plans such as hanging with friends in the arcade, karaoke, or cram school.

Furthermore, the above-mentioned of the students who went home.

Arriving in their house safely.

Getting welcome by their parents.

Going back to their usual things, for instance, watching TV, playing games, or reviewing their studies.

And when the night comes.

At 6 pm, when the sun is setting, It's time for the school club's activities to end.

So for those who stay in the school, they can finally get home.

At the same time, to those who don't have clubs and hang out with their friends, they just got home.

For them to not get home after school, they get scolded.

Getting home safely.

As the sun was already gone.

It was time to eat dinner.

Arranging the dishes on the table.

Sitting at the table.

A mother.

A father.

And a son or daughter.

Together with the whole family, they eat dinner.

Eating the food that mother cooked.

Having a conversation as they consume the meals.

Asking, "How's school? How's the class?"

"The usual."

The expected answer, that always gives.

A normal day in school.

After eating dinner, the student, a youngster, either watches TV in the living room or reviews their studies in their room.

And lastly, at the end, they sleep and wake up for a new day.

That's the daily life of high schoolers.
