3 Chapter 3

When I woke up it took time for my eyes to adjust to my surroundings and even then I felt pretty drowsy. Where the hell am I? Sitting up slowly, I looked around. It was cold, damp, and the smell; musty. There was a staircase off to my right side. A basement? I tried to think back on what happened and that's when it hit me like a train.

Shit.

I was in a car crash.

Immediately I started checking my body for any injuries. My shirt was torn to smithereens so I removed what was left of it. My pants, well, I don't think they qualify as 'pants' anymore. Pushing myself off the floor I found a mirror and looked at my reflection. I stood there dumbfounded at my new appearance. I had very tan skin. My hair was black and wavy instead of the messy dirty blonde mop I used to have. But the most bizarre change was my eyes. They had changed from blue to golden yellow. I was ripped; newly found abs and muscles that I know I didn't have before. Not to mention I didn't have a scratch on me. Impossible, I had to be dreaming. I couldn't be alive. My eyes drifted off to a corner where I saw Jacob in a heap on the floor. Panic and fear flowed through my body. Did I kill my best friend?

"Jacob!" I yelled. It came out in more of a roar which suprised me.

Nothing.

I ran over to him and went to check his pulse when a female voice called from the top of the stairs.

"Don't worry, he's alive," she looked me up and down, "You healed well."

What the hell did that mean?

One minute she was at the top of the stairs and the next she appeared in front of me. She stood with her arms crossed over her chest. She inhaled through her nose deeply.

"You have their scent," Sadness clouded her eyes for a millisecond and then went back to normal.

I have 3 words for this situation.

What. The. Fuck.

"How did you... what do you mean their scent?" Thats when I stopped and looked more closely. There was no mistaking the oddly dressed, very tall, and black haired woman standing before me.

It was the girl from the convenience store.
