Prologue

"CRASH!!!". The truck crashed into the ash grey SUV, flipping the car onto its side. The truck driver, startled awake from the sudden collision, took a minute to realise what he had just done. He quickly put the car in reverse and backed away from the side turned car, the lack of support causing the car to fall upright. The driver quickly got out of the truck to look inside the car seeing four bloodied figures in the front and backseat and was instantly petrified.

He had been driving for 9 hours in a row on a delivery shift and accidentally dozed off for a second without realising it when he suddenly crashed into the oncoming SUV. Other cars driving at the intersection also stopped seeing the crash sight, some got out to take a look, others remained in the safety of their cars, and a few were making calls, probably to 9-1-1, the driver realised.

The next hour was a blur to the driver who was taken away by the police after the ambulance checked him for injuries but found none. He did see the people who had been in the car getting pulled out by the EMT's one by one, their bodies bloodied and wounded from the accident.

Five lives were changed that day in the busy San Diego, California streets, the truck driver, James Collin, and the four passengers of the SUV, Ahn Daehyun, Ahn Sooho, Kim Eunae, and Kim Jinsol.

The day had been a blur to Kim Jinsol. She still had a hard time believing that she had actually gone through with the procedure. What was even more shocking was the fact that Ahn Daehyun, her older sister's ex fiance, had shown up to the fertility clinic. To say that he was enraged would be an understatement. Although some of that anger was pointed towards her direction for agreeing to the childish couples request, a larger portion of that anger was pointed towards her older sister and her husband, Ahn Sooho, who also happened to be his younger brother.

Ahn Daehyun had received a call from his younger brother informing him about the couple's plan, at first he had been baffled by how the couple had managed to come up with such a stupid plan. Then he was even more stupefied to learn of the fact that Kim Jinsol had actually agreed to his crazy ex fiance and stupid brothers proposal.

The Kim Jinsol that he knew was always so calm and coolheaded, and intelligent, not to mention the complete opposite of her crazy sister. He had immediately booked a flight to America after getting the news, he didn't dare to tell his parents in fear of what would happen.

Unfortunately, by the time Ahn Daehyun had reached the fertility clinic in San Diego, Kim Jinsol had already finished the procedure and was resting in the room while he was faced with the two smiling idiots waiting in the hall. He would have yelled at them right then and there if not for the fact that they were in public.

"HH…H..Hyung, don't be angry. When did you get here?" Ahn Sooho stumbled to ask. His older brother's current expression was too dark and scary for him to bear.

"Right Daehyun oppa, why didn't let us know, we could have come to pick you up at the airport." Kim Eunae followed up her husband.

Ahn Daehyun spoke through gritted teeth,"Can you promise you two wouldn't have run away and hid if I had told you?"

"Eunae, go and get Jinsol out. We are leaving right now."

"But, she's supposed to rest after the Embryo Transfer process. What if the transfer isn't successful?" Eaunae rushed to speak.

"Kim Eunae. Now!" Ahn Daehyun raised his voice, almost yelling. He could feel his anger rising with each word.

Kim Eunae almost sprinted to get into the room. "Jinsol, hurry you have to get up, Daehyun oppa is really mad, he told us to go. Can you talk to him? Tell him it's not our fault. Just tell him not to be too mad. You know he doesn't get angry at you."

"Unnie, you know that's not true. But is oppa really that mad?" Kim Jinsol asked while getting dressed quickly."

Eunae could only nod.

Once they came out of the room everyone followed Ahn Daehyun in silence. "I took a taxi here, where's your car?"

"Over there hyung." Ahn Sooho spoke. He even opened the door for Ahn Daehyun flatteringly. Ahn Daehyun ignored him,he helped Jinsol into the backseat behind him and got into the passenger seat silently. Ahn Sooho exchanged shaky glances with Kim Eunae before getting into the driver's seat. Kim Eunae sat beside her sister in the back seat. They drove in trepid silence before Kim Jinsol slowly spoke up to defuse the tension in the air. The car stopped at a red light waiting.

"Oppa don't be angry at Unnie and Sooho oppa, I agreed to do it." She whispered, still embarrassed at seeing him after such a procedure.

"You still dare to say you agreed to do it! Have you gone stupid after hanging out with the two of them? You're still an unmarried college girl and actually dare to go and have a child!! Do your parents know about this?! Have you considered the consequences for being a surrogate?!" Ahn Daehyun finally burst out into full blown anger. Kim Jinsol winced at his anger and at the words he spoke, because he was right about all of them.

She had been impulsive in the decision but she had her reasons for making it.

Ahn Sooho started driving at the green light after sneaking a scared glance at his brother.

"I…" Before Jinsol could finish speaking she heard her sisters scream and the world turned on its side with the heavy sound of metal hitting metal.

All she could remember was seeing red everywhere, everyone was covered in blood. She could barely keep herself conscious. Her older sister's bleeding body lay on her lap with a metal frame impaling her abdomen. She fainted after hearing a quiet groan come from the front seat.
