1 1. The Nightmare

"Excuse me! , excuse me!..... are you listening?" the boy asked the old man.

"y-you should not be here, go.... GO!! I say" the old man shouted in an afraid manner.

"but w-why ?" boy frightened. He tries to touch the old man but he turns into black smoke, suddenly, everything around him- buildings, cars, trashcans, even floor- starts to turn into black smoke. He is totally confused and frightened. Black spreads everywhere, he is unable to see a thing.

"you should not be here, hehehehe!!" a horrible voice whispers.

"who are you ?, show yourself" the boy shouted.

Suddenly he realized that floor beneath his feet has vanished but it's a miracle, he is not falling. He is hanging in the air.

"W-what's happening? it's, it's unbelievable! " he said to himself.

"Josephhh..... " the unknown voice whispers again but this time very cold.

The boy suddenly falls,

" Aaaaaaa....." but he is not hitting the ground, he is gradually falling deeper and more deeper, it's becoming darker and more darker.

"Josephh... " the unknown voice whispers.

"Josephhh, Josephhh, Josephhh..... " the unknown voice continues to whisper again and again.

The boy sees a light coming from a hole, spreading slowly around him.

"JOSEPH !!! " He hears the unknown voice last time but in a very high pitch.

"STOP IT.... " the boy says loudly while closing his eyes. As he opens his eyes he found himself sitting on a desk. He gasps and hears laughter. A man of around thirty with French beard wearing square black framed spectacles is standing by his desk with his arms folded.

"Good morning, Joseph." the man says while staring at him through his spectacles.

"Thank god! , that's just a dream. " Joseph says to himself but the man heard it.

"Oh!, you were dreaming, so sorry to disturb you. " the man jeered Joseph.

Then Joseph suddenly realizes that he is in the classroom and was sleeping.

" I'm so s-s-orry teacher, I don't know how I slept" Joseph apologized.

"Joseph, get--out. " teacher said seriously.

"But---"

"Get OUT " this time more furiously.

Joseph goes out of the class and stood by the wall opposite to the classroom.

Joseph Cansdale is a high school student at Albany, New York. A middle age teenager with curly hairs which make him more handsome, black eyes and hairs and a lean body, but still everyone says him a ghoul because of his teeth which gives him a vampire look.

*school bell rings*

It's half past two and time to departure. Joseph took his bag and ready to go home.

"Joseph!!..... stop. " the teacher orders. "You are coming with me. "

"But, where? " Joseph asked.

"To the principal's office. "teacher answered with a big smile on his face.

"Seriously!!! , just because I was sleeping. Argh!! " Joseph says with disgust.

They both went to office.

"Excuse me sir. " teacher said swiftly.

"Yes Mr. Barthwick, any trouble? "the principal asks politely.

Mr. Barthwick orders Joseph to sit outside the office and went in. Joseph was anxious and eager at the same time to know what's happening inside. Is he gonna suspended? or they will punish him? or they will kick him off the school. His thoughts were getting more and more worse that suddenly he heard -

"Mr. Cansdale. " it's the call of principal. Joseph's heartbeat rate increases. He enters the office, Mr. Barthwick was looking at him with a big smile on his face like he had done what he wanted, kick him off the school.

"sit."

Joseph sits. "y-yes Sir, " he gasps.

"we were talking about your grades which are decreasing continuously from last two months and we need to talk to your mother. Today, at quarter past four Mr. Barthwick is coming to your house. "

"But---"

"no buts, he is coming to your house and that's it. Now you can leave"

He leaves the office takes his bag and went to main gate of the school where a girl was waiting for someone probably for Joseph.

"what happened in the office?, what did they say?, What---"

"He is coming to my home today. " he said sadly.

"Wait, what?, I mean, really. Son of a bitch. " she said furiously.

"Mia, calm down. " Joseph said while exhaling a deep breath."Don't worry about it, I can handle it. "

"I'm coming with you." Mia said worriedly.

"But, what you will say to your mom? "

"That I am at staying at Christian's place tonight. "

"If she called her, then? "

"I will tell Christiana to make an excuse."

Joseph stares at her for a while then they both start laughing.

They reach Joseph's house which was half an kilometer away from the school.

"We are home mom. " He says loudly.

"I think nobody is at home." Mia whispers to Joseph.

"Think so. "

They both went to Joseph's room. As he opens the door-

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Mia."

A girl and a boy shouts. The room was decorated with balloons and ribbons.

"Oh my god, " Mia hugs Joseph then the boy and then the girl. "Thank you so much Josh, Sam and Li. "

" I thought you all forgot my birthday." She says surprisingly.

"now don't get sentimental, cut the cake. I've been waiting for you Mia to come and cut it. " Sam says eagerly.

" Happy birthday to you Mia....." they sing along as Mia cuts the cake.
