Chapter 73: Li Rang and Qiao An

Qiao An was getting vexed by Li Rang who seemed to have no intention to get away from her and Amy Shen.

She had spent her morning trying to get rid of Jin and any other male from trying to join their outing. Having Li Rang, whom Qiao An did not even want to see, hanging around them, made Qiao An lose her composure.

If Qiao An wanted man to tag along with her 'girls outing', she could just invite Shen Jun Shan or Jin to come with her. She knew both men and it would be a hundred times better than having the ex.

Li Rang was like a leech, he did not want to leave the girls alone even though Qiao An had been giving him a cold reception. That made Qiao An think about whether Li Rang had always been that shameless.

Amy Shen did not know about Li Rang being the ex-boyfriend of Qiao An but she knew that Qiao An felt uncomfortable with the man around. Amy Shen felt uneasy too because the man whom Qiao An called Li Rang was looking at her in a way that made her hair stood up.

"Ah! The earring!" Amy Shen gathered her things and lifted her handbag. "The earring you asked them to carve your initials. I think it should be done by now."

Amy Shen could not shot Qiao An a knowing look because Li Rang had his eyes on her the whole time but she tried hard to make her expression real like she was really just remembered about the earring.

"Oh my god! I almost forgot about it." Qiao An shot Amy Shen a thankful look. It was easier for her to do so since Li Rang did not pay attention to her. "The jewelry shop will close in about…" Qiao An pretended to look at her watch. "Ten minutes."

Of course, Li Rang knew that the girls were just bluffing. It was obvious that they wanted to dine in when he came to approach them but since he sat down, suddenly they wanted to go somewhere. He is not that dense to not know about cheap tricks like this.

He smiled and did not press further as it was not him who will starve out of hunger. If the girls can go so far to avoid him, then be it. He can always find them later on. With that in mind, Li Rang stood up. His girlfriend should be done in the hair salon by now.

"Then you must go as the jewelry of Miss Qiao An should not be an ordinary one." Li Rang dragged the word ordinary on his lips. That sentence from him earned him a curious look from both Qiao An and Amy Shen. "To go as far as carving on earring, it must be special."

Amy Shen knew she messed up. People do not really carve their earring but that was what came out to her mind in her desperate attempt to help Qiao An escaped from the man.

Qiao An paid no attention to Li Rang. She pulled Amy Shen away without looking back at Li Rang.

"See you around." Li Rang shouted at Qiao An and Amy Shen but the girls never turn back to look at him.

Li Rang smiled mockingly. After all these times, Qiao An still acted the same way as a few years ago. She never turned back to look at anyone. Even when he sent her back to her hostel building, Qiao An never once turned her back to look at him before entering the building.

He thought that girls usually feel reluctant to part away with their boyfriend. Therefore, they could not help but turned around to look at their loved ones when they were about to part way, but Qiao An never did.

That was one of the reasons why Li Rang readily took the money that had been offered to him. Since he could not make sure whether Qiao An was really in love with him or not. Another reason was that there was another girl, a rich girl who was interested in him.

If only he knew about Qiao An's background, he will continue to stay by her side no matter how cold she is. At least, she is beautiful enough for him to flaunt to her friends and family. Not to mention, she is rich.

When Li Rang knew about Qiao An's background, he was furious at first. He thought that Qiao An purposely deprived him of the knowledge about her true identity. It made him feel lose out to access of wealth that he might gain if he ever got married to Qiao An.

Now that Qiao An is in front of him again, he was not in love with her anymore. Cold girl with poker face was not really his style now. Li Rang prefers a beautiful girl with a warm smile like the girl with Qiao An just now.

Even so, he could not just forget the fact that he felt cheated by Qiao An and he felt insulted by Qiao An's brother. But he did not have to do it this time. Li Rang thinks about Joel who will do his bid and smiled while walking towards the hair salon where his girlfriend was.

"An An, that is…" Amy Shen could finally ask Qiao An when they were far enough from the man who came unannounced to their table.

"Ex-boyfriend." Qiao An answered swiftly.

Amy Shen looked back to see that the man disappeared. Of course, compared to her brother, the man could not rival her brother's look. But why did Qiao An feel uncomfortable? Is it because she still has feelings for that guy?

As if knowing was on Amy Shen's mind, Qiao An had to elaborate more. "I never realized this before but his gaze is making me edgy. Just the fact that he looks at you with such intensity and slyness, it makes me uneasy."

Amy Shen agreed with Qiao An.

"He must have some design on you." Qiao An snorted, and it made Amy Shen laughed because it was so unlike Qiao An to snort because of man.

As both of them walked towards the jewelry store, Qiao An's phone rang. Thinking it would be Shen Jun Shan who was yet to appear, Qiao An pressed the answer button without even looking at the caller's ID.

"You're late. We are going to eat without you." Qiao An tried to sound like she was upset. She was about to say more but the too-familiar chuckling sound coming from the caller made her shiver in cold.

"I didn't know you are waiting for me. I guess I'll see you around then." The caller hung up before Qiao An could say anything.

Right after the call got disconnected, Qiao An snapped her head back, trying to see if anyone she knows was tailing her and Amy Shen. The laughing sound she used to love in the past few years made her goosebumps now.

Li Rang must be a stalker or he might be a goddamn hacker. Qiao An changed her numbers last year. There is no way Li Rang would be able to know her number now.

Qiao An could not pinpoint her own feeling but she felt a sinister aura coming from the chuckling sound she heard; and it made her terrified for some unknown reason.

"We better go home." Qiao An grabbed Amy Shen's hand and led her towards the exit.
