52 Chapter 52: Hug

"Sorry you have to see that." Qiao An took a deep breath and went to Amy Shen's room.

Shen Jun Shan glanced at Amy Shen. All of it was too sudden. He did not even know where to start. Both of them were startled that things escalated that way.

Qiao An came out of her room with her house keys. "I don't think you have first aid kit here. I am going up to take mine. Amy's bleeding." Qiao An pointed towards Amy scraped elbow.

"I'll go with you." Shen Jun Shan volunteered.

Shen Jun Shan took the house keys from Qiao An and walked in front of Qiao An. When they reached D2006, Shen Jun Shan entered the house first to make sure nothing dangerous was lurking inside the house.

Qiao An entered the house, and she could not help but check if something was different from the things inside the house.

Nothing changed. Nobody had entered her house.

Qiao An sighed in relief and entered her room. Shen Jun Shan tailed behind her. While Qiao An rummaged her wardrobe, Shen Jun Shan took the chance to look at his surroundings.

Qiao An's room was exactly like how he imagined it to be. The room did not scream 'I am a rich girl' – simple and minimalistic. Shen Jun Shan was busy looking at every detail in the place when he heard a sigh.

"Arghh, this is so annoying!" Qiao An suddenly stopped rummaging. "So aggravating!"

Shen Jun Shan thought that Qiao An was getting impatient because she could not find the first aid kit. He was about to suggest that they should just buy antiseptic and some plaster from the nearby pharmacy, but he stopped when he saw Qiao An clenched her fingers so hard, they looked pale.

"What is it?" Shen Jun Shan approached Qiao An. "What made you so angry all of a sudden?"

Shen Jun Shan took Qiao An's hand and tried to pry open the clenching finger one by one.

"I don't even know what I did wrong to that Cleopatra. Why is she doing this to me?" Qiao An's lips quivered, tears welled up in her eyes.

Shen Jun Shan engulfed Qiao An in a hug. Well, it's understandable why Qiao An would feel disheartened. Imagine doing your own thing, not caring about other people, and not disturbing other people's lives, and then suddenly, you get all the hate for no reason at all.

People get frustrated when they get hated on, even more so when people get physical with you.

Both of them stayed in that position for some time. After some time, Qiao An struggled to get away from Shen Jun Shan, but Shen Jun Shan did not let her go.

"Jun Shan, I'm fine." Qiao An stopped struggling.

"I know, but I'm not fine. Let's just stay like this for a little bit more." Shen Jun Shan refused to let go of Qiao An.

Qiao An stood still until Shen Jun Shan let her go. She was about to complain that Shen Jun Shan has no reason to be not okay. After all, the one with a damaged car was her. The one scolded as an outsider was also her.

Without looking at Qiao An, Shen Jun Shan brushed past her, pretending as if he did nothing shameless just now. "Now, let's get the first aid kit. Amy is bleeding."

Jin was playing with Snowy and Orange when his phone rang. When he saw the caller, he smiled. Qiao An rarely called him. Today, his sister called him twice. Jin was quite happy.

Jin thought that Qiao An called to complain to him that she is not used to staying with the Shen siblings and asking him to return to City L as soon as possible. But when he answered the phone, his imagination crashed down.

"You are paying for my car. I'll send the receipt to you when it's done." Qiao An spoke directly to the point.

Jin could not respond straight away since he was trying to understand why he needed to pay for Qiao An's car. Qiao An never asked him for money before. Is this what it feels like when the younger sibling depends on you?

The thought made Jin feel good. He felt as if he is someone dependable. Qiao An never asks him for help or money; he never gets the chance to show off how responsible and reliable he is.

"Your ex-girlfriend scratched my car because she thought I manipulate you to break up with her. Partly this is your fault." Qiao An continued explaining since Jin was not responding to her.

"Ex? Which one?" Jin had been in a few relationships before. So, unless Qiao An mentioned a name, he will not know which one was causing his sister a problem.

Qiao An sighed. Her brother is taking things too lightly. "The Queen of Egypt."

"Who's that?" Jin paused for a bit. He is not good at detecting sarcasm. "Cleopatra?... Oh, you mean Cleo? What's with her?"

"Get yourself together, will you? If you want to dump your girlfriend, do it cleanly. Don't involve other people." Qiao An started nagging.

Amy Shen was sitting in her dressing table, trying to apply moisturizer to her face when she heard Qiao An nagged on the phone. When Qiao An nagged, her left hand was moving along to exaggerate her nagging.

Amy Shen remembered the teachers during her middle and high school. When the teachers were scolding or nagging them, their hands moved according to their words as if to intensify the scolding more.

She tried hard to hold her laughter in case Qiao An got offended. A teacher is always a teacher. They made nagging and scolding sounded excellent and comfortable. Like you won't even feel bad when you got nagged. Instead, you will feel much better.

Weird, but it's true.

Even though Amy Shen could not listen to what the person at the other end was saying, Amy Shen knew that Qiao An was talking to Jin. After all, Qiao An did not have a lot of friends that she could speak with.

When Qiao An finished scolding Jin, she went to lie on the bed. Since Amy's bed is a king-size bed, there is a lot of space for the two of them on it. Qiao An sighed and closed her eyes.

Amy Shen lay beside her. "Don't get mad too much at your brother. He doesn't know anything."

Qiao An opened her eyes and looked at Amy Shen.

"Don't take his side too much. He won't learn anything if nobody scolded him. This time, your elbow got scraped, and my car got scratched. Both of us have nothing to do with Jin and Chloe, but we got involved anyway."

Amy Shen shook her head and told Qiao An that it was nothing. Also, her elbow got scrapped because she tried to involve herself and not because Jin involved her.

"Amy, I took back my word." Qiao An closed her eyes again after Amy told her that she was okay. "Don't be my brother's girlfriend. You are too good for him."

Amy Shen laughed when she heard that. She never had the intention of falling in love with Jin. Having Qiao An said that made it seemed like a funny thing to think about. Amy Shen closed her eyes too.

"An An, what do you think about my brother?" Amy Shen asked. This would be the second time she asked Qiao An the same question. She wanted to know if anything changed from last time.

Amy Shen waited for some time, but Qiao An never replies to her. When she opened her eyes, Qiao An had fallen asleep.
