43 Chapter 43: Amy and Ling Qi

It was three more weeks until Lei Xiao's wedding. Qiao An had been trying so hard to tone down her body. She never skips even a day of running in the park.

Shen Jun Shan was with Qiao An every day. However, since Qiao An could not still figure out why Shen Jun Shan kissed the back of her hand, having him around her was suffocating.

Shen Jun Shan said nothing about last night. He was acting as he usually did. Sometimes, a small smile crept onto his lips. It made Qiao An suspicious, but she did not ask why. If Shen Jun Shan wanted to act as if everything is normal, then there is no reason she could not do so too.

Like usual, both Shen Jun Shan and Qiao An will walk together to their apartment complex after they are done with jogging.

"So, dinner?" Shen Jun Shan spoke nonchalantly. The fact that he had dinner with Qiao An for two days straight made him confident.

"I have a plan." Qiao An stopped walking. She was contemplating whether she should tell Shen Jun Shan that she will be having dinner with another man.

Her thought made it seemed as if Qiao An was trying to cheat on Shen Jun Shan. She felt terrible, but when she rethink her action, it was not as if she had to tell everything to Shen Jun Shan, right?

"Maybe next time." Qiao An decided not to say anything about it with to Shen Jun Shan.

Shen Jun Shan was a tad disappointed, but he could not force someone who had made a plan earlier just to accompany him to eat.

When Shen Jun Shan reached his home, Amy Shen was getting ready to go out. She wore a sleeveless floral print jacquard knee-length dinner dress in pink. Amy Shen had minimal makeup on, and she curled her hair.

"A date? With who?" Shen Jun Shan looked at his sister. The number of times his sister dressed up to go out was not that many.

"Ling Qi." Amy Shen took her purse and looked at her brother. "Ling Qi will pick me up. You will have dinner with An An, right?"

Shen Jun Shan shook his head without saying anything. "Go on."

Amy Shen did not think much about her brother and Qiao An. She felt that while it is good for them to develop their relationship, they still need time alone for themselves too.

As Amy Shen went down, she found that her date of the night waited for her in the parking lot.

Amy Shen's date of the night was Ling Qi. Ling Qi is the newly hired manager in the Shen siblings' company. Amy Shen has spent a few lunches with Ling Qi, and she thought that Ling Qi is a good man.

Ling Qi is a handsome man. Some of the girls in the company were eyeing him the moment he entered the company. Amy Shen found him cute too, and kind. But what she felt for Ling Qi at the moment was not love, but the feeling can be cultivated.

Amy Shen did not know much about Ling Qi's background, but from what she can see, Ling Qi came from a well-off family. It was not as if Amy needed to know everything about the man anyway.

As Amy entered Ling Qi's car, she realised that someone was standing at the dark corner where she used to feed the kittens. From the silhouette of the man in the dark, Amy Shen could see that the man is handsome.

Since when this apartment complex housed a lot of handsome men? Amy Shen squinted her eyes to see better. Ling Qi did not realise that Amy Shen was trying to look at the man in the corner, so he started the car and drove away.

Before the apartment complex was out of her sight, Amy Shen saw Qiao An came down, and the man from the dark emerged to the light to meet Qiao An.

Ling Qi brought Amy Shen to the Misty Bar and Club near the jetty of City L. The romantic ambiance of the sunset lounge is popular with guests. Ling Qi purposely brought Amy Shen there be. He wanted to court her.

Amy Shen was having a great time with the atmosphere. She likes watching the sunset the most, and the food in the Misty bar is excellent too. Amy Shen was all smiling the whole time, unlike someone who was watching her from the corner.

It was rare for Jin to ask Wu Chen and Jin to hang out with him. Jin and Wu Chen were childhood friends, but they rarely hang out together since Wu Chen did not go out often due to work. Even more so after Wu Chen got married, it was tough for Jin to ask Wu Chen to hang out together.

Jin usually hangout with Jun Liu, the man who got married to Wu Chen's cousin. He felt that it was easier to talk with Jun Liu compared to Wu Chen even though he knew Wu Chen longer.

This time, since Jin was lonely, he asked Wu Chen and Jun Liu to drink with him. They agreed, but their wife wanted to come too. Jin was familiar with Chong NaNa; they were kind of a childhood friend also. But, Shen Yi Fei -No, not her.

At first, Jin refused because Wu Chen's wife gave him a strange vibe. But since Wu Chen told him that Shen Yi Fei would be inside the bar to play with the adopted cat there, Jin agreed half-heartedly.

"You know the lady? You keep on watching her?" Wu Chen raised his glass to drink his wine.

"Just someone I know…" Jin looked at the smiling Amy Shen from afar.

Is that why she let me be alone? Because she had a date with the guy from last time in the restaurant? Jin did not take his eyes off Amy Shen.

A small calico cat walked around leisurely, and the calico cat approached Amy Shen's leg and rubbed its head against the leg. Jin's heart froze for a second, thinking that Amy Shen might kick the cat.

Jin was proved wrong when Amy Shen picked up the cat and started petting it. Of course, Amy Shen is not Cleo. Why would he thought that Amy would kick the cat?

"You are very weird right now. Even your smile makes me skeptical." Jun Liu, who was silent all the time, started speaking.

Jin ignored those two men and looked again towards Amy Shen.

Eh? When did Wu Chen's wife come to Amy Shen's table? Jin did not know when or how, but suddenly, Wu Chen's wife was talking with Amy Shen on her table.

Shen Yi Fei was holding on to the calico cat and talked with Amy Shen like they knew each other for a long time. Shen Yi Fei suddenly turned back, and she made a gesture to the waiter. Not long after that, the waiter sent a bottle of wine to Amy Shen's table.

The waiter opened the bottle of wine and poured it on the glasses for Shen Yi Fei, Amy Shen, and Ling Qi. Ling Qi was uncomfortable at the intrusion at first, but since Amy Shen did not mind about it, he also let it off.

"For cats!" Shen Yi Fei, Amy Shen, and Ling Qi toasted their glasses.

"Wait here." Wu Chen stood up quickly. "This idiot."

Jin saw how Wu Chen reached his wife in only a few seconds. He took the wine glass from her. His wife gave a mean look, and they exchanged a few words. Wu Chen pointed to Jin's direction, and suddenly all of them turned their head to the table where Jin was seated.

Amy Shen waved her hand, so Jin had to wave back.

Ah, he was busted!

After confiscating the wine from his wife, Wu Chen returned to their table with his wife beside him. Jun Liu had a knowing smile, but he did not say anything since he knew that his wife was inside the bar playing with cats.

Jin quite liked the fact that Shen Yi Fei was in Amy Shen's table. He was a bit disappointed that she returned too early to their table.

Jin felt that Wu Chen's wife should stay there and disturbed Amy Shen's date more.
