39 Chapter 39: Pure girl

The interior of the house is exactly like how Amy Shen imagined it would be - Symmetrical and straightforward detailing with deep warm neutral colours that are not too dark.

Comparing Qiao An and Jin's house, one was bright, and one was dark. The characteristics were too different, Amy Shen could not think of how Jin and Qiao An could get along well as siblings.

JIn brought all the things he brought from the pet shop to a room on the first floor and set up the cage on the corner of the room. Amy Shen tailed behind Jin and went inside the room while still hugging both kittens.

"Cage, food and water. This should be enough for now. Anything else, I will get it tomorrow." Jin finished setting up the cage and put water and food onto the cat bowls he purchased together with the cage.

Amy Shen set down her handbag and put down the kittens. The kittens knocked down the bag and ran away to hide behind the cage.

Amy Shen was too busy looking over at the kittens that she did not realize her lipstick tube rolled away from the half-zipped handbag.

"This place is new to them. They'll need time to adapt to their surrounding."

Jin nodded and looked at Amy Shen, whose blouse was dirty from carrying the kittens. Of course, Jin could not do anything about it. It would be weird if he asked Amy Shen to remove her dirty shirt and changed into a clean one.

"I'll get the housekeeping auntie to clean them tomorrow. Thank you for helping out." Jin was very grateful for Amy Shen.

"No. Thank you. They can have a home because of you. Snowy and Orange must be the happiest kittens in the world tonight. You save two souls." Amy Shen talked while looking at the kittens that were wary of their surroundings.

The words from Amy Shen left a trace of joy in Jin's heart. Her words and actions come from a place that is not tainted by evils in this world. While people will not care about stray animals, she spared her time looking after those voiceless creatures.

Usually, whenever his friends asked him about his preference in a girl, Jin always answered that he likes pure girl. But what is the real definition of pure anyway?

Previously, Jin associated the word pure with someone like Cleo. Someone whom he thought was kind and innocent and sometimes acted coquettishly that made him want to spoil her more.

Now, his definition of pure seemed to change a bit by bit into someone in the form of Amy Shen. She always tries to make this world a better place.

Just like this, right now. Amy Shen is always kind just like this. Since her university day, she is still kind until now.

At this moment, Jin wanted to pat Amy Shen's head to praise her of her kindness. Jin always sees his auntie patted Qiao An's head whenever Qiao An did well in her study. But he knew better not to touch someone, especially a person of the opposite sex when they have no family relationship with him.

Misunderstanding will occur, and the last thing Jin wanted was a misunderstanding with people he considered a friend.

"It's getting late. I should go now. My brother will be worried if I come home late." Amy Shen looked at her wristwatch. It was fifteen minutes after nine.

Jin laughed. "You have a schedule too? I thought only Xiao An planned her time."

Amy Shen knew what Jin was trying to say. To be able to plan and stick to a plan was very hard, but Qiao An was able to follow her schedule diligently. That earned her much respect from the Shen sibling.

"Not really. I just feel weird being in a stranger's house at night." Amy Shen meant well when she said so but seeing how Jin frowned when she mentioned 'stranger's house', Amy Shen felt that she needed to explain more so that Jin will not misunderstand.

"I mean, I don't enter someone's house alone. You see, I spend most of my time with my brother, so I never enter a man's house alone. Don't get me wrong. We are a friend, of course."

Jin has a lot of friends, but most of his friends were in City T. He had some friends in City L, but they are not the kind of friends that he could ask to hang out together. Most of his friends in City L are married, so they are not always available to hang out with him whenever he wanted to.

He thought of Amy Shen as one of his friends. That was why Jin felt a bit offended when Amy Shen stressed on the 'stranger's house' just now. But since she explained to him, Jin sees no reason why he should feel offended anymore.

On their way back, Jin and Amy talked a lot about the kittens and the items necessary to raise a cat. Again in his house in City T, Qiao An and her mother raised three cats. So Jin knew a little bit of how to raise them. Even though he was sure that he would do well in raising cats, Jin still asked for Amy Shen's opinion.

When they reached the parking lot, Jin saw that Shen Jun Shan's car was parked in the parking spot. Jin was quite happy because even though Shen Jun Shan wanted to court his sister, he was decent enough to go back before ten.

"Brother Jin, thank you for today. Please take care of Snowy and Orange. I'm going to miss them a lot. Drive safely." Amy Shen opened the door of the car, but Jin's held her wrist to stop her.

"Yes?" Amy Shen turned around.

"You can come anytime to visit the kittens." Jin let go of the wrist. The heat from Amy Shen seemed to burn his skin. He wondered why.

Amy Shen smiled and went out of the car. She waved towards Jin before heading upstairs.

Jin looked at his hand, which was holding into Amy Shen's wrist. Why would he stop her? He can always say something without touching Amy Shen. Why would he touch her?

As Amy opened the door, Shen Jun Shan was sitting on the sofa watching television.

"Where are you from? Why is your shirt so dirty?" Shen Jun Shan had a broad smile on his face. He is obviously in a good mood.

Amy Shen and Shen Jun Shan rarely keep secret from each other. So Amy Shen told her brother of what happened with Jin and the kittens.

"It's not safe to go into a man's house alone at night. No matter how good people said he is, he could harbour some ill intention towards you. My sister is so beautiful; I need to be wary of people." Shen Jun Shan said jokingly.

"Why? Are you speaking from your experience? Like you have evil intentions towards An An? You keep on smiling from the moment I entered this house. Something good must have happened" Amy Shen wanted to know.

To her disappointment, Shen Jun Shan stood up, switched off the television and went towards his room without saying anything.

Shen Jun Shan always do this when something has happened, but he did not want to tell.

"Brother, what is it? Tell me. I want to know too." Amy Shen followed behind Shen Jun Shan to pressure him into speaking, but all she got was a door shut into her face.
