38 Chapter 38: Jin and house

Amy Shen went to the supermarket to buy groceries for herself. Since her brother will be going out much often from now on, Amy Shen figured out that she could not eat out every day. She had to cook for herself.

As Amy browsed the poultry section, she saw from afar someone who looked familiar to her. At that time, her mind suddenly thinks of Jin. She smiled happily towards the man and thought that fate had a way of uniting them, the lone ranger.

When she drew near the man, she realized that the man was not Jin. She turned around and returned to the poultry section.

"You see, if we keep on bumping into each other, I would have to believe that fate is playing cupid for us, the lonely sibling."

A voice sounded from the back. Amy Shen turned around and saw a broad smiled Jin with a shopping basket. This time, there was milk and bread in it instead of beer.

"You are here." Amy Shen could not believe herself that Jin was actually in the supermarket. The one she saw from earlier was not Jin, but for some strange fate, Jin was really at the same time as her.

"I guess we eat together then?" Jin saw that Amy put quite a lot of groceries on her shopping basket. "Or are you eating alone at home?"

Thinking that since she happened to meet Jin in the supermarket, it would be better if they eat dinner together. After all, they are the lonely sibling.

Jin and Amy went to the Lucky Star Restaurant; they did not have to think much about it. They practically had a tacit understanding of each other.

"I think we should be eating together a lot in the future. Might as well we exchange each other's contact number for saving us the problem." Jin knew that Qiao An would be going out with Shen Jun Shan a lot, so he proposed that idea to Amy Shen. Amy Shen agreed, and they exchanged numbers.

As they were eating, a group of young men came into the restaurant. They were all very loud at first, but when they came near Jin and Amy's table, they stopped.

"Hey, boss! And a beautiful girl?" The men stopped. They looked at Jin as if Jin had betrayed them.

Jin nodded and said nothing. Amy Shen smiled towards the men, but she too said nothing to the men.

The men walked away and settled in a big table, a few feet away from Jin. They looked at Jin begrudgingly. They are the staff from Jin's studio. Last time, one of them asked Jin to introduce Amy Shen to them, but Jin refused them.

No wonder Jin did not want to introduce the beautiful girl to them. Jin wanted to covet the beauty for himself. The men whined in their hearts.

"Do you know them? They look at you like you owe them one million." Amy Shen glanced towards the men.

"They are my staff. Let them be. They might be jealous that I get a beautiful lady to accompany me for eating." Jin spoke like it was not a big deal.

Getting praised by someone good looking made Amy Shen pleased. Both of them were eating peacefully, ignoring the jealous look thrown by the men from the other table.

After eating, Amy let Jin send her back to the apartment complex since Jin said that he wanted to see the kittens. When they reached the parking lot, they could see that someone was crouching near the dark corner where they feed the kittens.

Both of them approached the silhouette and found out that it was the security guard of the apartment complex. He took the kittens each on his hand and tried to lift it. The kittens struggled and scratched the guard's hand. The guard threw the kittens, and he stood up abruptly.

"What are you trying to do?" Amy Shen walked hurriedly towards the guard. There was a hint of anger in her voice.

"I received a complaint that someone is feeding stray cats in this apartment. I was tasked to catch the kittens. Are you possibly the one who feeds them? You know the rules of this residence, right?"

The guard explained politely, and this made Amy Shen blushed in embarrassment. Of course, she knew the rules. The management of the apartment complex does not allow a pet. That was why Amy tried to find people who want to adopt the kittens.

"Can you let the cat off this time? I am trying to find people who want to adopt them. I'll ask around a few more times. Please?" Amy begged the guard with her best act.

Almost every man could not stand it when a beautiful girl is begging them about something. But it happened that the guard was an exception. He crouched down to try to catch the kittens once again.

Jin saw everything. He looked at Amy Shen, but Amy Shen never looks at him even once. Usually, the girls Jin knows will ask help from people around them. Jin thought that maybe he was not reliable in Amy Shen's eyes.

"I'll take them in." Jin proposed. Maybe he still had some guilt from last time when Cleo kicked the cat in Misty Bar. Or maybe Jin could not stand it anymore in case the guard will throw the kittens to the ground again.

Since someone decided to take away the kittens, the guard left them there to catch the kittens themselves. Since they did not have any cage to keep the kittens, Amy volunteered to keep hold of the cat until they reach Jin's place.

On their way back, Jin stopped by the pet shop to buy a cage and necessary things to raise kittens. Jin told Amy to stay in the car since the kittens were sitting on Amy's lap.

Amy did not think much of it at first, but the realization came on to her when they reached Jin's house. Jin's home is an exquisite looking bungalow, and Amy felt in love with it at first sight. Amy felt that if she stepped in, she might not want to go out anymore.

"Come in." Jin opened the door for Amy. Seeing that Amy had a wary look at Jin, he laughed. "I'm not going to do anything to you. Don't worry."

Amy Shen thought that she was not worried about Jin. She was worried that she might not want to leave the house if she entered it.

But for the sake of the kittens, she entered anyway.
