28 Chapter 28: Realization

After dinner, Qiao An brought the plate to the sink. Since she did not help much in cooking, she felt as if she needed to do the dishes at least.

Shen Jun Shan came and stood beside Qiao An. "Let me help you."

Qiao An said nothing, she just smiled.

"Have you eaten the cake I gave you yesterday?" Shen Jun Shan wanted to ask that question while they walked but from jogging, but they were interrupted by Yu Jing.

"Not yet. I will eat it after this. I put it in the fridge" Qiao An stopped rinsing the plate and turned to Shen Jun Shan. "You didn't do anything to it, right? No black magic or love potion whatsoever?"

It was too random; Shen Jun Shan could not even find the words to reply to her. So he laughed heartily. Why was Qiao An so suspicious of food when someone gave her for free?

Qiao An did not ask her, but Yu Jing decided that she will wait for Qiao An to go upstairs together later. She sat in the living room with Amy Shen. While Yu Jing was talking with Amy, her eyes were trained on Shen Jun Shan and Qiao An in the kitchen.

"Jun Shan is so happy. What could they possibly talk about?" Yu Jing mumbled to Amy. She looked at the pair at the sink and talked louder, "Hey, what are the two of you talking…"

"Yu Jing!" Amy clapped her hand. "Where is this yoga studio you are opening?"

That clap took the attention of Yu Jing. She forgot about Shen Jun Shan and Qiao An and proceeded to talk about her yoga studio that will open soon. Amy Shen could see that Yu Jing was indeed a yoga instructor, as she could not stop talking about yoga to Amy Shen.

Meanwhile, the two persons at the sink were oblivious to whatever was happening with Amy Shen and Yu Jing. They did not even hear Yu Jing when she tried to ask what they were doing just now.

"I know another shop that serves good cakes and coffee, but the shop is quite far from here. I'll take you there next time" Shen Jun Shan stopped laughing, his face got serious all of a sudden. "I don't need black magic or love potion… Because I am sure I can win your heart if you let me".

Qiao An blinked a few times before the realization of Shen Jun Shan flirted with her came to her. She turned her head away from Shen Jun Shan and continued rinsing the plate.

"Pretend you don't hear anything. Pretend you don't hear anything". Qiao An recited the mantra inside her heart, but she could not do anything about her flushed face. It was just too bad that when she turned away from Shen Jun Shan, she did not manage to see the sparkle in Shen Jun Shan's eyes when he looked at her.

"So, coffee and cake?" Shen Jun Shan asked again because he did not get any response for Qiao An. Qiao An nodded without a word. Shen Jun Shan had a big smile on his face.

As it reached eight o'clock, as usual, Qiao An returned to her house. Yu Jing was right behind her, obviously having a good time from the Shen siblings' home. Like usual, Qiao An was quiet the whole way up.

As Qiao An reached her door, Yu Jing stopped in her track. Qiao An turned to look at Yu Jing, and she looked like she had a lot to say but hesitating.

"Do you have anything to say?" Qiao An spoke directly. There were five more minutes to eight. She could not afford to waste time talking with Yu Jing.

"Erm…Qiao An, are you a couple with Shen Jun Shan?" Yu Jing hesitated, but she asked anyway. "Don't get me wrong. I am just curious,".

"No. Anything else?" Qiao An looked at her wristwatch, four minutes before eight.

Yu Jing's face lighted up when she heard the response from Qiao An.

"I am interested in Shen Jun Shan. I see that your relationship with him is quite good. Can you help me out? I would like to get to know him better" Yu Jing inched closer to Qiao An and took her hand. She swung their hand together and acted coquettishly towards Qiao An.

Qiao An looked at their joined hand, and she was not happy about it. She hated it when people are initiating unnecessary skinship with her. She did not like people touching her for no reason.

"No. I can't help you". Qiao An retracted her hand from Yu Jing. "I don't think I can ever help you with this matter."

To meet someone who declined her straightaway when she asked for help was rare for Yu Jing. At least people will beat around the bush and not rejected her on the spot. But Qiao An did. And she cannot do anything about it.

Yu Jing did not take it to heart. She knew that she was too hasty in this matter, especially when she saw how Shen Jun Shan and Qiao An seemed to be in their own world. A world no one can ever invade.

To say that she likes Shen Jun Shan might be an exaggeration. Yu Jing is interested in Shen Jun Shan, that is for sure. But it has not reached the point where she is crazy about him. That was why Yu Jing felt that maybe she could try to deepen her relationship with him by getting to know him first.

By the time Qiao An entered her house, it was a minute past eight. Honestly, she had a lot to say to Yu Jing regarding her request, but since time is running out, she had to cut short all her words. Qiao An hoped Yu Jing understood her.

Qiao An went to her fridge and took out the box Shen Jun Shan gave her yesterday. She wanted to eat the cake last night, but she was too full to eat another piece of cake.

She set the cake on the table next to her favorite reading spot and put a spoonful of cake inside her mouth. The chocolate cake tasted sweeter than the one she ate yesterday. She put down the spoon and patted her cheek in bliss.

Maybe, just maybe, Shen Jun Shan did sprinkle a few drops of love potion to the cake.
