25 Chapter 25: Budding friendship 2

Qiao An had no cooking ingredients left in her house. Therefore, she could only eat outside for the day until she goes for groceries shopping.

Like usual, Shen Jun Shan tagged along. He insisted that he will drive Qiao An since they are going to eat dinner together. Qiao An was too lazy to reason it out with him, so she allowed him to tag along.

Qiao An likes the lamb chop in the coffee shop near their apartment complex, so she suggested that they stopped there to eat dinner. Qiao An likes the shop since they served decent western food at a reasonable price plus the cakes and coffee are to die for.

"This is not right. I should be eating clean after all those running. Eating cakes here makes me feel like I'm back to square one" Qiao An looked at all the food on the table.

"It's okay. I can help you to finish this if you can't. Let's eat". Seeing how Qiao An was feeling guilty because of food, Shen Jun Shan did what he always did with his sister.

Qiao An smiled, nodded and picked up her fork to eat the cakes first instead of the lamb chop she ordered. The cake made Qiao An delighted. As they were eating, Qiao An talked a lot.

"Eh, isn't this Mr Shen" Two older women came to Qiao An and Shen Jun Shan's table. "Nice to see you here, Mr Shen and nice to meet you here too, Mr Shen's girlfriend".

Qiao An stopped munching when she heard the words 'Mr. Shen's girlfriend'. Her puffed-up cheek makes her look like a hamster but with a perplexed face.

Shen Jun Shan smiled at the older ladies. "Nice to meet you two here. This is Qiao An. Are you two here for dinner too?"

The older ladies and Shen Jun Shan exchanged a few words before the older ladies sat down a few tables away from Shen Jun Shan. Qiao An continued munching right after the older ladies walked away. Seeing how the cake on Qiao An's plate was almost gone, Shen Jun Shan pushed his cake towards Qiao An.

The two older women were the clerk working in Shen Jun Shan and Amy Shen's company. They have been working with the Shen siblings since the start of the company and people could not blame them for having mistaken Qiao An as their boss's girlfriend. After all, they never saw or heard about their boss going out alone with a woman other than his sister.

It was relatively easy for Qiao An and Shen Jun Shan to be mistaken as a couple. Both of them were wearing sports attire and equally attractive. Seeing how their boss took care of Qiao An by giving her more food, the two ladies were sure that the two were on a date.

The fact that Shen Jun Shan did not deny or confirmed to their question previously made it even more apparent.

There were a lot of single ladies in the company who would be more than happy to go out with Shen Jun Shan, but Shen Jun Shan never pay them any attention. The same with Amy Shen – there were a lot of single and attractive male workers in the company, but Amy Shen treats them like a regular colleague.

Some rumours have been circulating in the inner circle of the company. Some of them were harmless, and some were plain stupid. For example, rumour has it that Shen Jun Shan was in an incest relationship with his sister. Or, that Shen Jun Shan was gay, meanwhile Amy Shen was a lesbian.

That was why when Amy Shen agreed to go out with the newly hired manager of the company, people, especially the male workers were happy because now they knew that Amy Shen was not a lesbian after all. She just did not want to go out with them. The newly hired manager was handsome and decent; the male worker felt that they could not compete with him.

Now that the ladies saw Shen Jun Shan with another girl that is not Amy Shen, the ladies were happy for Shen Jun Shan too. All the years they have been working in the company, they could see that Shen Jun Shan was a nice guy.

As the ladies could not resist the temptation to gossip, they posted the news of their boss having a date on their group chat. Many of their colleagues did not buy the story and asked the ladies to snap a picture as proof, but the ladies declined, saying that they should respect the boss's privacy.

Meanwhile, Jin and Amy were sitting in one of Amy's favourite restaurant – the Lucky Star Restaurant. She likes fish soup there.

Jin and Amy sat the opposite of each other. There were a lot of foods in front of them.

"Are you sure you can eat all of this?" Jin pointed to the food. "Like…literally, all of them?" He found it very hard to believe that Amy Shen could finish all the meal.

Amy nodded excitedly, but Jin did not believe her. How could a slim lady like Amy Shen finish all the food on the table? Also, shouldn't she a bit reserved? After all, she was eating with a company. Moreover, the company is a man.

Since Amy answered the phone call in the supermarket, she felt thrilled, and she thought that she could eat a lot. Hence, all the food on the table. She gobbled up the food happily without caring about all the looks she received from the next table.

Jin eyes her with an amused look. He forgot all his sorrow from earlier. Still maintaining his elegant self, Jin took some bites too. Sometimes later, Jin's doubt came to life.

"Brother Jin…" Amy looked at Jin guiltily. "I cannot finish this".

Without waiting for Jin to respond, Amy pushed the food to Jin. Jin took the food begrudgingly. He knew it! How could a petite lady like Amy Shen finish all the meal? She must have been starving when she ordered the food; thus, her judgment was clouded.

Jin did not want to take the responsibility to clean up the food but considering that Amy Shen did accompany him indirectly, Jin finished everything given to him.

Their cars were parked side to side, so they walked together to the parking lot. Neither of them talked, but Jin did not feel awkward at all.

"Thank you for accompanying me for dinner. I should have pay for my food, but in the end, you paid for mine too. I'll treat you to a meal next time" Amy Shen unlocked her car and was about to enter her vehicle but she turned back towards Jin. "And don't drink too much. Tomorrow is not the weekend yet".

Jin was confused at first, but then he remembered how Amy Shen had been looking at the beer that he put in his basket earlier. "Oh, I didn't buy it. I don't think I need it anymore. With all the food I ate on your behalf, it would be a miracle if I can still drink after this".

Amy Shen's laugh rang on his ear, and Jin felt that it was one of the most beautiful sounds he had ever heard since he came to City L.

"Bye. See you again". Amy Shen entered her car and drove away, leaving Jin to stand alone at the parking lot.

Jin looked at the car. How come Amy Shen always walk away first without waiting for him to say anything else?

Jin entered his car and drove away with a broad smile on his face.
