22 Chapter 22 : Jin and Amy 2

Jin insisted on staying for a while with Qiao An because he had something to talk to her. The Shen siblings understood the underlying meaning of his words, so they went back to their own house first – leaving the siblings to deal with whatever they needed to deal with.

Qiao An sat the opposite of Jin. "Yes? What do you want to tell me?"

Jin looked at his sister, whom he tried to protect sincerely. Even though both of them are not blood-related, Jin genuinely cares for Qiao An.

"Xiao An, I'm not going to sugarcoat things here. Amy is okay, but you need to be careful with her brother. I think this Shen Jun Shan guy had some design on you" Jin sighed.

"You said all the time. Whenever there is a man near me, you'll say that they have some motives over me even when they don't". Qiao An moved to sit next to Jin. "Brother, I am an adult. And for once, I am pleased that I have other friends apart from Yee Ling, Su Na and Lei Xiao.

Jin's lips twitched when he heard Qiao An mentioned the three names – the three little devils. He always caught the three when they tried to corrupt his innocent little sisters. If he could, he would rather have Qiao An befriended other girls, but Qiao An was stuck with them.

It was not as if he hated those little devils, one of them is quite alright, but the other two are pure evil – corrupted and perverted mind.

"Alright, then. Up to you. If anything, just let me know. I'll regularly come to check out on you". Jin stood up, ready to leave. "How about we have dinner with Cleo tomorrow? She'll go back to City K the day after tomorrow."

Qiao An had no idea that Jin will pop out the question out of the blue. While she did not want to go, she cannot refuse Jin outright as not to hurt his feeling. She could only give some excuses, hoping that Jin will get the hint and let her off.

"I have something to do tomorrow" Qiao An paused. "Are you serious with her?"

Again.

Qiao An asked him that question again – whether he was serious with Cleo or not - Whether he is in love with Cleo or just a crush. Since the charity dinner, Jin has been asking himself the question, but he could not answer it for good.

Jin stood up and walked to the door. He waved without turning back and close the door behind him.

When Jin reached his car, he saw a silhouette in the dark at the corner where the lamplight did not shine. Maybe because Jin had a light step, the owner of the silhouette did not hear him. As Jin's eyes adapting to the light, he could see vaguely that the silhouette belonged to Amy Shen.

"I am going to ask people to adopt you, don't be sad. For now, eat this kibbles" Amy Shen poured the kibbles onto something.

Jin approached her quietly. For some reason, he did not want to startle Amy.

"Snowy, you eat this side. Let Orange eats that side. I have plenty here, don't fight". Jin could hear that Amy poured more kibbles for the kitten.

So, Amy is the type of girl who talks with an animal? Jin felt amused. His sister and stepmother also speak to the animal like they were talking to a human.

"I cannot adopt you since this apartment complex does not allow a pet. Be strong, though. I'll find someone to take care of you. Until then, don't let yourselves get caught. Understand?" Amy petted the cat slowly, not realising that someone was watching her.

When he became closer, Jin saw that Amy poured the kibbles onto a white melamine plate. The realisation came to Jin when he heard the last sentences from Amy and the melamine plate. No wonder he felt that Amy's backside was familiar. He actually saw her during his university year.

"Are you feeding the cats?" Jin decided not to be secretive anymore. He crouched down next to the cats and petted them.

The kittens ran away when Jin petted them. Tch. Stingy kitten!

"An An told me about these babies a few days ago. The mother is nowhere to be seen but thank God they are big enough to eat kibbles" Amy stood up. "Are you going back? Be careful then." Amy walked away while waving her hand.

Jin stood up to and waved towards Amy, but Amy was nowhere to be seen. Jin looked at his hand mid-air. This would be the second time his hand left hanging by a girl. He chuckled and went to his car.

People said that animals could tell bad people from good people. Jin felt relieved to know that Qiao An has a good friend around her.

Six years ago.

Jin studied at TMI University, one of the private universities in the country. Supposedly, TMI university has the best lecturers in Engineering course and Business Management Course. The tuition fee was super expensive, so only the rich can afford to study there.

Jin went back to his hostel with a bag of food on his hand. He was out for dinner, but still, he ordered for takeaway since he was planning to pull an all-nighter tonight. He knew he would need a lot of food because he was stressed out as there was something wrong with his coding.

TMI University has a few hostels around. The one where Jin was staying was the opposite of the female hostel. Since both male and female hostel was near, they shared the same parking lot.

Jin came out of his car and at the end of the parking lot where the light of the streetlamp could not reach, he saw a small silhouette crouching down. Jin approached the silhouette since he had to walk past there to get to his dorm. He could not see the face of the silhouette, but from the side profile, the silhouette was quite a beautiful girl.

JIn paid no attention to the silhouette, but he heard a tiny voice came from there; most probably belonged to the person crouching down.

"Eat a lot. Don't fight for food. I have a lot here."

Then Jin heard something being poured onto a plastic surface.

The next morning, Jin and his dormmate who was afraid of a cat went down to the parking lot, ready to go to class when his dormmate suddenly stopped, and he was looking at something.

"I hope it's not what I think it is. There should be no cat here. I am afraid of cats".

Jin looked at the direction where his dormmate was looking – the end of the parking lot. There was a small white melamine plate there.

Since then, Jin always heard from his friends who were staying in the same hostel as him that every evening, there will be a beautiful angel who will come and feed the stray cats at the parking lot. It became their guilty pleasure to watch her feed the cat secretly since nobody dared to approach the girl.

Jin saw her almost every day after that, but that suddenly stopped one day. Nobody knew what happened, but Jin figured out that someone might have adopted the cats.

He never gets to know her name or seen her face, but Jin will always remember the backside of the silhouette, the beautiful side profile and the white melamine plate.
