20 Chapter 20: Chloe and Jin

Jin came after an hour, and Chloe was tired of waiting. By the time she entered Jin's car, her face did not show any trace of happiness.

"Sorry, Cleo. I have important things to deal with in the office when you call. I try to resolve it as fast as I can" Jin felt guilty. "Where are we going?"

"Anywhere but here is fine. Up to you" Chloe said coldly.

Chloe was not in the mood of going anywhere. She was too vexed to stay in the hotel. Chloe was staying in Wu Hotel for the sake of attending the Charity Dinner organised by Jin's family. That was why she suggested meeting Shen Jun Shan in the restaurant there.

But seeing how the meeting with Shen Jun Shan didn't work well, she couldn't stand staying another minute there. The old Shen Jun Shan would always do what she wants. That is why when Shen Jun Shan defended his new girlfriend, Chloe was annoyed. After all, she thought that she knew Shen Jun Shan better so Shen Jun Shan should give in more towards her.

Since Chloe said so, Jin brought Chloe to his favourite restaurant. Chloe was quiet the whole way. Jin felt even guiltier since he thought that Chloe was mad at him for making her wait long.

Jin tried to cheer her up, but Chloe was still moody. This is the first time Chloe was acting this way towards Jin, so he was confused. Still, Jin wanted to cheer her up.

"How about we have dinner with my sister this evening" Jin suggested dinner all of a sudden. Upon hearing, Jin mentioned his sister, Chloe's lips curled up in disgust. Jin noticed the subtle movement of Chloe's face and was quite shocked to see it. He questioned himself whether his eyes were playing a trick with him or not.

"Do you know my sister? She's the same age as you. Both of you attended the same university too" Jin stopped eating and focused on Chloe's expression as if to confirm what he saw earlier.

"Really? I didn't know that" Chloe panicked. She was afraid if Qiao An mentioned anything else to Jin. For example, things happened in the toilet. "Did your sister say anything to you?"

A trace of panic could be seen from Chloe's face. Jin wondered why.

"Not really. She only asked whether…" Precisely at that time, Jin's phone vibrated alerting him of an incoming call.

"To what do I owe you this pleasure, sis? You rarely call me" Jin talked to the phone and ignored Chloe, who was waiting for him to finish his earlier sentence.

By the time Jin finished the phone call, he had a bright smile on his face. How could he not? It was rare for Qiao An to ask him out for dinner. This time, Qiao An invited him to have dinner in her house to introduce her friends like he requested not long ago.

Jin forgot everything he was about to say to Chloe previously. "My sister invited me for dinner this evening, do you want to come with me?"

Chloe declined, saying that she did not feel well. Upon hearing that, Jin finished his food quickly and sent Chloe back to the hotel.

"Are you sure you don't want to come with me later? My sister is quite cold, but I assure you, she's not bad". Jin was hoping that Chloe will come, but to his disappointment, she declined again.

That evening, Amy was helping Qiao An in the kitchen. Qiao An invited her and her brother for dinner because she wanted to introduce them to her brother.

"An An, I saw you went jogging with my brother. How could you two leave me alone" Amy Shen pouted while washing the vegetable. "Talking about your handsome brother, is he single?"

Qiao An came out from her room, still with her hair wet, and took over the vegetable from Amy. Qiao An then asked Amy to sit in the living room. "I don't go jogging with your brother. He is the one who keeps on following me. About Jin..." Qiao An paused. "My brother introduced me to his girlfriend, but I bet it won't last long."

Amy Shen liked gossip. "Why? Is she not pretty? Why are you not satisfied with your brother's girlfriend?"

"She's beautiful" Qiao turned off the water tap. "But that's the problem.

"She's beautiful, but she is not the only one beautiful here. I honestly think that you are more beautiful than her" Qiao An turned to Amy Shen with a serious expression. "How about you become my brother's girlfriend?"

Amy Shen let out a loud laugh as she thought that this time, Qiao An managed to say a very funny thing. At that time, someone knocked the door. Thinking that Shen Jun Shan might be the one knocking the door, Amy Shen told Qiao An that she'd open the door.

When Amy opened the door, a handsome guy was standing in front of her. The handsome guy was confused to see Amy Shen at the door that he had to double-check the house number in case he came to the wrong house.

"Are you An An's brother? I am Amy Shen, nice to meet you" Amy smiled and gestured for him to come in.

Jin was about to offer a handshake but Amy turned around to go to the kitchen while shouting "An An, your brother is here".

Jin looked at his outstretched hand and smiled. He thought Amy Shen was quite similar to Qiao An in terms of skinship. They don't like shaking hand, huh? He chuckled because he knew birds of the same feather flock together.

Jin purposely came earlier because he wanted to see if he could help with anything but seeing how Amy and Qiao An were whispering amongst themselves, he went and sat at the sofa.

Jin looked at the backside of Amy Shen and thought that Amy Shen seemed familiar.
