227 I’ll Show Her Who’s Boss!

For these elders, Feng Ao Xiu was a shocking experience. However, it was not enough of a reason to accept the little girl, Su Mei just because of him.

First, she was too small. A five years old girl wouldn't survive in the rigorous training of the Cloud Moon Palace. Most importantly, she was too weak. No foundation, no technique, every move she made was nothing but a feather compared to the others. The only thing that could be complimented was her effort, but the test doesn't work that way. Besides, given how young she was, she could try again in a few years.

The elders felt their decision was justified. Even Feng Ao Xiu couldn't win the argument in this matter.

If Feng Ao Xiu became angry, it was another matter, they will find another way to appease him. And, Feng Ao Xiu himself knew that even if he asked, he would not get pass Ning Ruo, possibly the only person in the entire Lower Realm who was not afraid of Feng Ao Xiu at all (except the people who knew he's not a cultivator). Even if Feng Ao Xiu somehow managed to convinced Ning Ruo, Su Mei would not truly be a disciple of the Cloud Moon Palace. She would just be a girl who was just happened to be taken care by the sect. She would not learn any technique or cultivate. In a few years, she will realise she's just a burden to the sect.

Feng Ao Xiu's group broke down crying. The three of them pitied the girl who couldn't get in, while another one cried because he did not get the money he worked hard to scam.

The one with the loudest cry was Su Mei herself. She was only five years old, but she was smart enough to notice what's going on.

"Little Mei, is that you?", suddenly an old woman asked from afar. She was accompanied by a boy about 7 to 9 years old came.

"It really is, Little Mei!" the young boy said. He quickly ran to Su Mei. He was half angry and half worried as he said, "Silly girl, we've been looking all over for you! How dare you make us worried?"

"Little Mei, are you all right? You're not hungry!", the old woman said as she approached Su Mei. Then, she bends down to the elders, "Ah! I'm sorry to trouble everyone at the sect for looking after our Little Mei."

"You two are?" asked Elder Zhou.

It was not the two who answered, but Li Lan, the senior of the Cloud Moon Palace. "Elder, they are from the orphanage. This lady is the caretaker of the orphanage. I brought them here for the confirmation and to return the embezzled money to them."

Quickly, Ning Ruo asked, "Did your orphanage receive any donation in the last few months?"

"Our donations have stopped since last year..." the old caretaker lady said. "Ever since then, we do not have enough money to buy food."

"That's right!" The little boy chimed in. "Why else would Little Mei run away? She's here because she heard from her deceased mother that the sect can provide food!"

"It's all clear now!" Ning Ruo said to Tao Zhen. "You said you want to hear from the orphanage as your last plea, and the truth has been revealed!"

"Lies! Lies!" Tao Zhen shouted, "There's no way the Tao Clan embezzle any money. This must be a conspiracy!"

"What the hell is he still doing here?!" Ning Ruo snapped as she slammed her hand to the table. "Quickly, drag him out of here!"

"No... No!!!" the Fifth Young Master of the Tao Clan shouted as he dragged by the seniors. It was the last time he was ever seen.

Li Lan handed a bag to the old caretaker lady, but she refused.

"Aiya! I can't accept this. There are so many gold taels here..." the old caretaker lady said. "There's no way our orphanage would receive this much donation!"

Li Lan persuaded her. "It's because he embezzled too much money. It got this big because it was accumulated for the past few months."

The old caretaker lady was sceptical at first. They never had more than a tael of silver donation each month. It would take at least 200 years for the donation to be this much. However, because of the situation of the orphanage was bad right now, she reluctantly accepted it.

Soon, the others were clapping their hands and singing praises for Feng Ao Xiu.

"Ah! Second Young Master Feng is so kind-hearted. He helped a little girl and her orphanage by uncovering the truth behind the Tao Clan's embezzlement."

"He's so amazing!! Who else can endure being mistaken for his evil brother in order to brought justice for common people!"

Feng Ao Xiu was baffled. He didn't do anything special, and these people have just mistaken him. He didn't even know anything about the orphanage or the embezzlement. Furthermore, he even thought it was just lies made Qian Hui. He felt embarrassed to receive the credit he didn't deserve.

In addition, Fang Ye Na only made it worse. She said, "That's right! Young Master already knew everything from the start. Everything was part of his plan!"

Feng Ao Xiu glanced at the three people approaching him, one of them was the little girl Su Mei. Her stature may be small, but her large eyes were sparkling with hope, unlike before. She gazes into Feng Ao Xiu and said with a large smile, "Thank you!"

Feng Ao Xiu could only smile as he received thanks from the three with an awkward but happy smile.

Feng Ao Xiu, Fang Ye Na and Jing Wu Chu said goodbye to the little before parting ways.

Meanwhile, Qian Hui was sad, but mostly angry. Every time, he remembered his money was taken from him, he felt he was scammed. He couldn't help but to vent his anger to the little girl who took the money from him.

"You... You little brat..." Qian Hui said while pointing at Su Mei. "Give it to me! That's my mo..."

However, before Qian Hui could finish his words, his thigh suddenly became heavy. When he looked at his leg, the little brat already hugged his thigh tightly. Su Mei smiled, "Uncle Skeleton, thank you very much!"

"This..."

The old caretaker lady said, "You must be Mr. Skeleton. You're the one who spied on the Tao Clan, it must be hard for you!"

The boy said, "Uncle Skeleton. You're so cool! When I grow up, I want to be a spy like you to uncover the evil deeds in this world!"

"This... This... What is this weird feeling?" Qian Hui suddenly gone weak in the knee. This is the first time in his life he ever felt gratitude towards him. It felt so soft that he found it uncomfortable.

In the end, he didn't do anything and freezes. Once the three people from the orphanage gone, only then he recovered.

"What was that?" Qian Hui asked himself. "Ah... I know! It must be because that little brat called me a skeleton. Tch... My name is not Skeleton! Just wait until I see that brat again, I'll show her who's boss!"

Finally, Feng Ao Xiu said, "Let's go home!"

With that, Feng Ao Xiu's journey in the Cloud Moon Palace came to an end... Was... What it should be. Until...

"Hey, you!" Ning Ruo approached fearlessly in her Elder Ning's costume. Only she was capable of disrespecting Feng Ao Xiu with the word 'you'. She continued, "Come back here in two weeks!"

Feng Ao Xiu asked, "Ehhh... Why?"

"What do you mean by why? You're still a disciple of the Cloud Moon Palace! It's your duty to join the International Young Dragon Blood Competition representing our sect!"

"Eeeeeehhh...."
