1 Abandoned by the Heaven

In a typical morning of the day, where there is an unusually bright sun along the clear blue sky. As people rush into the morning to go to their respective work, and children cheerfully going to school and chatting with their friends, classmates and school acquaintances. It could be described as a hectic and beautiful day.

As the students at Rising Sun High School located at the south east of Phoenix Prefecture City, several lively young students could be seen passing through the road toward the school building. But a certain youth with an unremarkable appearance that could overall be defined as only average was walking by himself and looking at his surrounding with an indifferent expression. After several seconds, he then proceeded along to his classroom with the other students.

It is already at the middle of the year since the start of school; it is also the time when laziness would come and strike. And as expected, most of the boys inside his classroom were lazing around and others are dozing off while the teacher was busily discussing a lesson.

Only several diligent students are left with passion to listen attentively and mostly of them were girls.

A young boy who was located at the rear of the classroom looked at this situation boorishly. He impatiently looked at the clock that was hanging at the front of his room, while synchronizing every ticking sound of the clock with a tap of his fingers accompanied by the monotonous rhythm.

This youth was already a senior high school student this year and was about to graduate to this forsaken, boring and most of all, merciless school with painful memories.

Actually, it is only true in his own perspective, as in fact, the school he was in was one of the top 5 highly praised schools all over the city. It is a prosperous school with many bright and talented students attending. But, not all attending to the school were as talented as the majority of the students. Unfortunately, this young boy, Lin Feng was one of those minority.

As a result, from the time he entered into high school, he was targeted to bullying everyday. Most of the time, after being thrashed by the students, he would contemplate at the school's rooftop and decided to quit school.

He became an orphan eight years ago. As his parents, which was only an average salary workers died because of an unknown cause. Some said that they offended a person of the underworld organization and silently executed them while some also claimed that it was the working of some supernatural identities. If you summarize all these rumors, then it still ends up badly.

As the only survivor of the incident, he was left with nothing but their solitary house and loneliness. Bearing everything to live day by day and strayed from interacting from the society until eventually becoming a shut in.

*********

T-triiing!!!

When Lin Feng heard this loud yet familiar sound, he let out a smile as if he were already expecting it to arrive, as the rest of his classmates also exclaimed in a relieved sound, while other scholarly students felt regret hearing it. The class soon bustled with commotion as they started to pack their things and prepared to go home.

While others were still about to pack their belongings, Lin Feng on the other hand was already preparing to go out of the room. The rest of his classmates were already used to this kind of action of his. They even gave him an honorable title of "Swift-Go-Home King". How kind of them to honor him a grand title.

The title that was forcibly inscribed to him was as the name said itself. After the bell of the school rang, he would only take 3 to 5 seconds to pack all of his things inside his bag, and swiftly walk towards his house. He did all this for 2 years already without missing a day.

Just what kind of nerve does this guy have? It was as if each of his movements are meticulously planned. Just like a walking supercomputer.

As he arrived at his unremarkable run-down house, he opened the door to his room and what greeted him was a dark and lonely room that filled with many sorts of compressed papers that was scattered allover the place.

Soon, as the evening sun already set and was replaced by the gloom of the moon. Lin Feng already changed his clothes and ate his dinner, then picked up an old and outdated black helm-like thing and sentimentally looked at it.

This helmet was non other than the GBT-000368 model VR-Gear. The very old model of the first generation VR-Gear that was released way back 8 years ago. This gear was still one of the first mass released product that his father bought back then.

As the VR-Gear got popular on its first appearance, it progressively evolved and eventually acknowledged as the second world in every people's heart. Some even established a living just by playing games inside virtual reality, and some also reaped big benefits and became from an ordinary person into a superstar. All of this was because of the birth of the VRMMORPGs, which was also the reason why VR-Gear was created in the first place.

Many players dreamed of becoming one of those successful people and tried their luck and wits inside the game as most of the reason why they chose this endeavor was to momentarily escape the reality they were stuck in and somehow venture into a dream fantasy world that would not ever be realized in the real world. Isn't it amazing this way?

As a result, due to his loneliness, grief and his life experience, Lin Feng also became one of the many people who was enticed to somehow become a successful player in a VRMMORPG and also to momentarily escape from the pitiful reality he belong.

And with unwavering effort, he became, if not the best then was one of the legendary players that was ever known to the VR gaming world. But as he progressed through all of it, he eventually realize the hollowness he felt inside his heart. Even though he was known as a figure of strength in the VR world. It was completely at the opposite in the real world.

Fortunately, he never revealed even a little bit of information when the public asked for his identity. Some even paid a huge money just to investigate even a single info he had. If he had, then his life would have not become like this.

He would either become a popular figure or dead in the first place due to the interchanging waves of his fans, admirers and enemies allover the world.

Lin Feng had no time to think about it right now as he was currently worried at the upcoming battle he was about to face. As the one who held the number one position in the international ranking of the most popular VRMMORPG, Eternal World Online for already 3 years. He already paved his way ahead and built a huge gap with the other top 10 players of the game who were considered to have god-like abilities, failing to steal the first ranked position he was holding.

After turning on the VR-Gear and put it in his head, he slowly lied down at his old and creaky bed and adjusted his position in a comfortable manner. Afterwards, he let out a sigh, muttering to himself. "If I could defeat that monster, then it will be the most fulfilling end of it all." Afterwards, a flash of colorful light surged from his line of sight.
