7 Fishing (2)

« Will, do you think you could repeat the feat you displayed back in Kaya Island? », Jackson asked.

I never expected my reputation to enter the eyes of Jackson, a narcissist who treated everyone like they were worth nothing, Lara being the exception.

But...here he was, asking for help.

« Yes, I am confident », I answered

In fact, two weeks of training had allowed me to grown stronger and reach level five with my firearm mastery skill.

[Firearm Mastery - Level 5

Increase accuracy and firing speed with firearms by 50%. Increase accurate shooting range by five meters]

Skills were just as important as stats, if not more important. A 50% multiplier was huge, and it was perfect to take down lots of average mobs, though I could already guess that strong mobs would be too difficult to kill off unless I could shoot the ten times.

But...the thing is I had many meat shields, some stronger than others. Hence, I could totally shoot these fishes down from a safe distance, accumulating EXP and grinding strong mobs by using the power of *AHEM* friendship *AHEM*

I took out my uncommon modified rifle, and aimed while activating the skill headshot

*Splash*

It missed the head, but I grinned as I pierced my target's artery.

[You have dealt 35 damage! You have caused heavy bleeding ailment]

I could see the chieftain curse and instantly take cover from my shooting, having realized he could have died right here, abandoning any idea of killing my favourite giant Arthur

I laughed and aimes again, shooting his subordinates down.

[You have dealt 160 damage ! heavy bleeding inflicted]

[You have dealt 160 damage ! heavy bleeding inflicted]

[You have killed Truck. You have earned 15*20 = 300 EXP]

My eyes widened.

Three hundred...EXP.

That was the equivalent of ten guards, the equivalent of a dozen miscellaneous quests I had been given over the past two weeks like [Fire 1000 rounds] or [Stab 1000 times in the air]...

Be it the fishmen, my crew or me, we all widened our eyes as the fishman died, just like that.

The fishmen became fearful and wary of my shots, hiding behind ice rocks, and my crew looked at me with admiration, their morale shooting up in the sky as the invincible fishmen were actually...killable, destroying the fear status they had been inflicted with by the fishman chieftain.

Lara looked at me with true relief, as she wasn't so sure about the outcome before I did the shot, while Jackson clapped and moved forward at high speed, taking out his twin katana, slashing another fishman, further boosting our crew's morale.

Damn it, I wasn't half as cool as him, but whatever.

My eyes widened because I had struck gold.

Fishmen were a golden mine of experience!

Fuck animal protection policies, I am going to fish like no one else did before!

*Splash*

[You have dealt 170 damage ! heavy bleeding inflicted]

[Target died of blood loss! You have received 340 EXP!]

Oh ?

Looks like shooting in their eyes is even better!

And so, the fight quickly turned from a difficult battle to...me taunting the fishmen and killing them from afar.

The fight quickly turned to an end, though. Lara used poison and with my shots, we ended up killing the fishman chieftain with meager ease, though she kill stole me, preventing me from earning my righteous EXP. However, I had earned roughly 1500 EXP from the encounter so I didn't grunt.

There were three fishmen captured, which would fetch for a lot in a slave market. It was immoral, but...come on, I won't change the world just because of Earth's teachings. This world is a place where you become the slave of you grow weak and gentle.

Among the three, one of them had a strange noble aura

[Garia - Level 5 Fishman]

She truly was weak, but her small body led over half a dozen of our boys to underestimate her and get their arms or ribs broken. She was a wild child.

I thought for a while...

And thought of all the protagonists who let their enemy go out of pity, only to be met with ever stronger opponents.

Should I just kill her?

Nah...I will just let her go. One day, she will try to get revenge, and that day will be the day I hunt some more fishes for experience !

Muhahahah !

[New Quest Availaible]

[Common Quest - Fishman Princess

Among the prisoners, there is a fishman princess, who has the potential to get revenge with another tribe if she escapes.

Free her to get an opportunity to kill more fishmen (0/1)

Rewards - 1 skill point, 5000 Berry]

As everyone cheered, nobody noticed that her ropes had been cut.

It only took one more day to get the boat to sail again...but as expected, more fishmen had come to ambush us.

My plan worked...
