1 Li Yubing

City S

1:45 a.m, Tower Bridge

A young girl age around twenty was dawdling aimlessly near Tower Bridge. Her eyes was shinny black gazing at flowing river, her white skin was completely flawless even in the dark she was looking beautiful as her long black hairs flowed over her shoulders. Though she had left from office at 8:30 p.m. But she just did not feel like going home as there was no one to look forward at home.

With every step, Tang Xue began to fathom that it had been ages since she had smiled and with every step the old memories stormed in her mind.

A group of friends were also on her side of the bridge and it appeared that they were having a gala time. Tang Xue stood on one side and stared at them while they were busy capturing their precious moments of happiness. She just stood numb and her trance was broken by the horn of the taxi. She jerked and got on the pedestrian to resume walking leaving the group behind with their happiness. The only sound she could hear was the sound of the flowing river and the wind filled the silence around her. Every moment was still so vivid and it kept coming back to her again and again. Tang Xue closed her eyes and took a deep breath to calm myself.

After a few more steps she heard a rumbling sound but didn't pay head to it. The sound again caught her attention, Tang Xue looked around to find the source of it. She scanned her vicinity and witnessed someone's bag on the side of the road. She tried to look for the owner of the bag and then looked at the guy standing on the bridge's wall holding the railing of the bridge.

Tang Xue took a few more rapid steps but due to the lack of lights, she was unable to see the man's face. It was a bit alarming to witness someone in the middle of the night trying to pull of such a stunt. He stood there and it appeared he had no intentions to get down.

By his moments she realized that he was leaning forward facing the river.

Tang Xue muttered, "Is he trying to jump off the bridge? Oh freak, yes!! He is insane..." she ran in his direction and pulled him back by his coat. His balance went off for a toss, they both crashed on the road. Tang Xue got hurt due to the gravels but was lucky that no vehicle passed even though it was a Friday night. Her back was hurt badly and to top it, the guy crushed her with his body weight. He tried to get up and got on the side resting his both hands on the road. Tang Xue was a bit taken a back and for a few minutes her breath was caught. She kept lying so that she could calm her breath and waited for the pain to subside.

They both didn't utter a word and only their heavy breathing was audible. Tang Xue gathered herself and got up from the ground, but she began to feel a rage building inside her. While dusting and straightening her clothes she was fuming with anger and wanted to yell at him.

The man was trying to get up and move away from her. Tang Xue was about to utter something, but before she could speak he started yelling at her, "What the hell is your problem? Are you crazy? I would have broken a few bones if I had lost my balance... I just wanted to die, stupid woman..."

After hearing that Tang Xue got angry, she lashed at him, "excuse me I was trying to help you and you are shouting on me. What the hell is your problem, you idiot why were you committing suicide, are you insane..." she was tracing her fingers in her hairs to fix them and had yet not seen his face as that side of the bridge was quite dark.

Suddenly, a vehicle passed by, the man quickly pulled Tang Xue to a side and again he bawled, "what is wrong with you woman? Why the hell are you trying to die? Now it seems you are insane..."

Tang Xue had not noticed the vehicle approaching them and was a bit taken aback by his words. He kept rumbling something and it was pissing her off completely. She was about to shout at him and before she could utter a word she finally saw the face of the man when a streak of light flashed from the passing vehicle.

Tang Xue stood there dumbstruck and was not able to believe the face she had seen. She recognized him immediately; he was one of the most renowned young musicians in the world from City A, Li Yubing. Tang Xue was stunned to see him and for a few seconds her mind was trying to register that he was the Li Yubing. He was vulnerable and seemed completely lost.

Tang Xue gathered herself and mustered some courage inside her to ask him, "Are you fine? What were you doing on the bridge wall?"

Li Yubing tried to compose himself and was still rubbing his palms that were having bruises due to their fall. He gave Tang Xue a stern look and said, "Mind your own business." He looked distressed and his eyes clearly showed that he was shattered.

For some strange reason Tang Xue could feel his pain and in that split of second she just felt like she should resist his vacuous words and ask him again what was wrong with him, "Are you alright? I mean I was passing by and I saw you..." she was now genuinely concerned about him and he stepped away from her to rest his hands on the wall.

Tang Xue picked my handbag and waddled in his direction. She just stood next to him and after a few minutes of silence Li Yubing didn't face her but spoke with a voice full of pain and a bit of guilt, "I am sorry ma'am, I am a bit... I just yelled at you...Sorry..."
