8 The Desu Appears

At the entrance of Ferrarius Academy, a girl with pink Chinese-buns hair stood as her eyes and brows touched in a serious manner. She stood straight as she held her travelling bag in front of her.

"This will be the start of my blacksmithing career! I will raise my family name to its former glory, desu!"

The girl muttered as her eyes suddenly blazed with ambition.

Although she's quite awkward, she is really determined. For someone as young as she is to carry her family's burden... and yet.

"Oh, I'm sorry."

"Hey, watch where you—"

A tall and fierce boy accidentally bumped into her. His eyes were fierce that complimented his black hair. Although his clothes are to be questioned, the simplicity of it gave him an alluring look.

(How she sees him.)

"Ah, I'm s-sorry. I-it's not your fault, desu!"

The girl panicked and bowed down as she started stuttering. Her face turned red and her eyes seemed to have spiraled out of control.

"Then, I'll be going."

The boy turned around as he didn't seem to care. It's like those boys who do not know manners around women and expects them to be forgiven as soon as they say sorry.

"Hoy, what's that supposed to mean, desu?!"

"Is there a problem?"

The boy turned as his serious face blew the girl. (Why is your face smoking?)

"N-no, there's no problem, desu!"

The girl panicked once more as she the boy's troubled expression and turned away to enter the Ferrarius Academy.

"Wait a minute, desu!"

"What is it?"

"A-uhmm!!!"

The girl was really shy for some reason — is what the boy would be thinking right now.

"C-can you tell me your name, desu!?"

The girl asked as she bowed down once more. Her shyness kept her head down as she suddenly felt a pat on her head. She lifted her head to notice the man touching her head.

"W-what are you doing?! I spent hours fixing this hair, desu!" (I hope it wasn't ruined, desu...)

The girl jumped away from the boy as her face became redder than ever.

"Sorry, you just remind me of my little sister."

The boy said as he smiled a little. Although he was still intimidating to look at, the girl just finds his smile cute.

"I'm Noah Ramez, you?"

"Ah- I'm Hazuka Shirigomi, desu! I'm Japanese, desu!"

"Oh, I see... Nice to meet you."

Noah's honesty broke Hazuka apart as she expected the people to act surprised because she's a foreigner. Then there's this boy that wasn't in the bit interested in her race.

(People here in the PH are really curious about foreigners when they see one. They'll gaze at your soul because you're a foreigner.)

This was the first time Hazuka was treated like a normal citizen, not some foreigner.

"I'll be going now..."

Noah said as he turned around towards the academy. Hazuka just stared at him as her heart started beating fast with her face blushed.

Although Noah stopped for a second to take a good look at the beautiful academy that was in front of him, he took a deep breath and went inside.

The three professors have been introduced and Hazuka wasn't even able to pay attention.

Why?

Hazuka wasn't able to listen to the principle's babbling because she has been prying her eyes towards Noah who was just silently listening to the principal. It was when Hazuka realized that Noah was focusing his mana into its eyes.

Hazuka immediately hid her presence and lower her mana, even for a bit, so she won't be caught stalking him.

Noah started to look around with his eyes turning around.

There were some instances where Noah stopped to stare at someone for a while and then to another. The first one he stared at was the longest he started at someone's aura.

The Principal.

"This guy isn't even suppressing his mana, desu!" — Hazuka muttered after seeing the principal's aura. She also saw the professors and other upcoming students who went full throttle on releasing their auras.

"This is really common, desu." — Hazuka mumbled once more as presenting their aura's strength is like a peacock showing his colorful tail, or a deer with long antlers.

This is about presenting who they are and labeling themselves as, "I'm dangerous, so you better not mess with me." Like any dangerous animals that are actually is actually dangerous to mess with.

"But..."

Hazuka noticed that Noah was completely hiding his aura. Not even a drop is leaking out of his body, "That's some intense mana manipulation..." Hazuka muttered in surprise.

Not only is mana difficult to manipulate, but keeping your mana inside your body without the help of Artifacts is really difficult. There is a lot of training for Mana Manipulation: Like stretching your mana to the point it is the thickness of a toothpick.

"It is incredibly stressful, desu. I can only do 20 meters before it breaks, desu."

Hazuka said in a really depressing manner. She knows that her talent is mediocre but she still wants to become a top-notch blacksmith like his father.

After that, they were guided to a train-like building. It was like three buildings stuck together into one building.

Since Professor Jones mentioned no one was coming back after the test, Hazuka didn't the guts to step in. Yet, she suddenly saw Noah step in with the Princess of the Mist, like there was no problem.

Then, eight other students stepped in and all of them had monstrous aura!

"W-what have you gotten into, Noah! Desu..."

Hazuka was in alarm as she thought Noah was in deep trouble. Not only is he with the Princess of the Mist, but he was also with other well-known people from prestigious families.

"There are even famous hunters there..."

Hazuka muttered at the surprise of Noah's decision. Yet, she was more depressed in the fact that she won't be able to stare at Noah for a while.

"I have to win this, desu..."

Hazuka muttered as her motivation suddenly sky-rocketed. She wasn't motivated because of the burden of her family name, but...

"I need to see Noah every day, desu!"
