GLARING

Terrence stared at William's hands in front of him. He wanted to laugh, but it would be weird if he did so.

"I hope too." He answered in a plain tone. He took William's hands and shook it a little bit before letting it go.

Terrence didn't even wait for William to recover before he walked away.

"I will look at the item's stock in the storeroom. You two can go ahead and do your things," Terrence uttered without even looking back.

This caused mixed feelings for Edwin, who wasn't used to how Terrence was acting. It felt so weird. Even though he already knew in the past that Terrence wasn't that friendly, he was still kind and knew how to converse with other people.

It was only now that Terrence was acting cold and serious.

Edwin sighed. He tilted his head to the side. 'I should lighten the atmosphere quite a bit. William, for sure, does not know what's happening."

He went towards William and patted his shoulders. "Welcome to work."

William smiled. "Thanks, Boss. What should I do now?"

Edwin looked around, trying to see what he could order to William.

"Hmm… how about you start by looking around the aisle and memorizing where the items are located? I'm sure that will be a great help to you."

William nodded like a lost puppy. "Yes, Boss!"

Terrence, on the other hand, went inside the storeroom located at the back of the grocery store. It wasn't that big, but its size was moderate enough that a week of items could fit inside of it.

"Hmmm…" Terrence's eyes roamed around.

This storeroom used to be filled with boxes, reaching to the very top. But right now, according to his estimate, there was only a fourth left from the first day he went here.

Terrence couldn't help but be proud of what he did. It was he who made everything possible.

Terrence counted each box of items left. Since everything was organized, it was easier for him to memorize everything. There weren't that many boxes, too, so he was done in no time.

When Terrence saw that it hadn't been an hour yet, he decided to stay in the storeroom for quite a little bit. Fortunately enough, the whole storeroom was air-conditioned.

Only when Terrence was alone that he was able to think clearly.

One thing was for sure. He wouldn't be able to stand William for a long time. Fortunately, it would be his last day already tomorrow.

'Why is William even here? Wasn't he supposed to be in the city, living a life of luxury? After all, he was the only son of a renowned senator.' It was all a mystery in Terrence's mind.

Now that Terrence thought of it, was it the reason why William betrayed him? Because he was poor? Not befitting to be the friend of someone who thinks he was high and almighty.

Or was it because William was such a Papa's boy?

When Terrence thought of it, he couldn't help but chuckle. 'Why the fuck does that sound disgusting?' he asked.

'I don't want to think about William anymore." Terrence sighed. He made sure that the storeroom's door was locked before proceeding.

Terrence was intrigued when he saw that this mission's rewards contained stat points for luck. It made him want to do it eventually, hoping that his luck would be better if its stats increased.

'With that, I will be able to get good rewards in the Lottery Spin.' He grinned.

The reason why Terrence wasn't using his Lottery tickets these past few days was because he was aiming to use them when he already had luck stat points.

He wasn't willing to do it, knowing that his luck was terrible.

After he was done looking at the [Missions] Tab, Terrence decided to level up.

[Ding!]

[Congratulations, Host! You have successfully levelled up.]

Terrence beamed. Even though his day was ruined when he saw William earlier, he was still happy with what he accomplished so far.

Just looking at the money he earned this day was enough.

Later, before he goes home, he will splurge money on food as a treat not only for himself but for his family, too.

He can buy the things he wants now.

Nope. Scratch that.

He can buy everything he wants.

What he needed to do was spend money, and he would get more.

What a good way to live his life.

After Terrence was done, he decided to leave the storeroom. He remembered the things he had bought earlier.

Since he wouldn't use it, he might as well give it to other people who needed it.

Terrence made sure to lock the storeroom. He went straight ahead to Edwin, who was at the cashier's table.

'I'll just put this there.' Terrence uttered, showing the logbook in his hand. Now that he was able to think earlier, he was calm already.

Edwin nodded as he stepped aside to let Terrence do what he intended to do.

"There. Done." Terrence sighed.

"You okay?" Edwin, who had been meaning to ask the question earlier, only got the chance to do it now.

"Yup. No worries." Terrence answered back.

Terrence went to the side where a chair was located. He sat there before looking around. He noticed that there were already numerous people inside, shopping.

He was glad to see that among them, there were new faces.

"Oh right, where's the items that I brought here earlier?" Terrence asked Edwin.

Edwin took out the bags he carefully stored earlier. "Here."

Terrence nodded. "Hmm… Do we have a box where we can put that just before the door? So that people can freely get something there if they would like to."

"Woah! That's a good idea, Terrence!" Edwin clapped his hands. His eyes flew to all the plastic bags. He was sure that a lot would benefit and be happy about this.

"I think there's one at the back of the storeroom. I am not quite sure…" Edwin thought about it. "But well, we can use the empty boxes here." He pointed to the empty boxes at the bottom of the shelf located not so far away from them.

Terrence chuckled. "You're not sure about your answer, aren't you?" he pointed it out.

Edwin laughed together with Terrence. "Yeah."

"We can use that then." Terrence nodded.

Terrence stood up and took the empty boxes from the shelf near them. When he looked around, he saw William standing on the side.

When their eyes met, William immediately walked away.

Terrence, who remained on his spot, followed William's moves using his eyes. His forehead creased. He was sure about what he saw.

William was glaring at him from a distance earlier.
