14 Chapter 13

School was now only a couple of hours away. Jenny stood in her closet. She was well rested and her body was fine. Cleo and Alex was suppose to pick her up for school, just because they didn't want her ton drive after everything that's happened. Jenny grabbed a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt. she didn't know what else to wear like any other day.

Jacob a couple of doors down was still trying to figure stuff out. One moment he just wants to make up with his sister, the next he wants to check to make sure Lacy was okay. She probably was... however the word probably was that much of a strong word. Is it?

She'll probably do this. She probably is safe. None of this has his mind at rest.

Miles Away...

Lacy was siting in a hotel room. Not one that was fancy in any way but it was just a small motel room that lucky didn't cost that much. She was scared someone was to find her and bring her back. She didn't want to risk having to go back to that man she once called her father... Just to end up almost dead in a hospital room. Yea... No. She didn't want that. Like most people would though.

After she talked to Jacob on the phone, she knew it was a mistake. Jacob wasn't one to let things go. She didn't know what else to do. She need to talk to someone and tell them she was fine. To be honest, She just wanted to hear his voice as well. For so many years, she was pretending to be someone else. Someone Snobby, Mean, rude and who didn't care. that wasn't who she was it was someone she was force to be. She had no choice. So many people wanted to sleep with her which she used it to her advantage so she didn't have to go home. So she didn't have to face her own reality time and time again.

Lacy got out of her Motel room to walk around the small town. To look for a small job so that she could afford something. She had money but not a whole bunch. She stopped in front of a dinner. It was like one of those 70s dinners. The colors on the wall was an eggshell. The booths were red and the table blue. The floors where white, blue and red. just like one of those dinners in the movies. She walked inside after her eyes caught the help wanted poster. They were old school as well. Most places would have in on an app.

She sat on the bar stool in front of the people who worked behind the bar cooking. This place was like a newer style of a waffle house.8

Lacy watched as a waitress approached her. She red the name tag. ' Grace ' it said.

"Hello my name is Grace and welcome to Great Gap dinner. I'll be your waitress. How may I help you?" Grace said with a smile on her face.

"Hi my name Lacy, I saw the sign outside and was wondering if you were still hitting?" Lacy asked.

"I will have to check with my manager, I'll be right back to ask her"

Grace walked towards the back where there was a wooden door. She came close to it and knocked on the door.

"Excused me," Grace said out loud at the door

"Yes, Ms. Grace" the manger said knowing the sound of her voice.

"There is a girl asking if we are hiring"

"What's her name?" The manger asked Grace

"Lacy" Grace answered

"Bring her over here and I'll interview her" The manger said

Grace walked back over to Lacy.

"My manger said that she would like to interview you. You can follow me to her office" Grace said.

Lacy stood up and followed Grace to the back of the store. Lacy was quite as she looked at everything until she came in front of the door.

"Hi, you must be Lacy right?" the manger asked looking at Lacy with a smile smile

"Yes that's right" Lacy said

"We'll I'd like to go ahead and interview you. If you don't mind"

"I don't" Lacy responded back

"Very we'll. I'm going to ask you a couple of questions as well" the manger said and Lacy nodded

"First of what is your full name, your age and your birthday?"

"My name is Lacy. I am 18 and I was born on September 25" Lacy said as the interview began...
