Prologue

Mana.

Since I was young, I was fascinated by such thing. My father always boasts his large amount of mana and so as his son, I expected that my mana capacity will be equal or even surpass even his.

Everything would have been perfect if just fate played along with me.

"ze-zero mana," said a hoarse voice.

"What?! repeat the test!" shouted the burly man.

"Apologies but even if we repeat it, the test orb is perfectly working" said the hoarse voice looking perplexed at the situation.

I interrupted my father before he beats the poor man. "Father, stop. It is rude to the man just doing his job and I think the Association won't just give us a defective orb"

"T-Thank you Y-Young master" said the troubled man, visibly sweating in front of my father.

After that, we went home to tell the news to my mother and little sister. Although I have no mana, I can just live a leisure life if I lead my father's company in the future. That is, if not for that unfateful day.

Father died while protecting the citizens from a dungeon break and my mother was struck with grief hearing the news. My little sister stopped smiling since that day. My once happy family has fallen apart.

After my father's death, the company crumbled due to the disappearance of the leading figure which is my father. Just what can a child like me do? I was struck in despair when I can't do anything but watch as all of it crumbles.

Why!! Just why is this happening to me!!

"Hoho, interesting human. You have a vessel greater than others but unfortunately, you've been given a terrible fate. No matter, for I shall grant you the power to defy your destiny"

"Wha!? what??! where is this voice??" I shouted as I looked around my gloomy room.

"Hehe, remember this boy. This monkey will give you the power to fight against the fate that those Gods have given you"

Golden-red hues started encircling me as I watch the beautiful golden-red hues turn to dancing flames. I was starting to lose my consciousness because something unknown is draining my stamina, I heard the last words the mysterious voice said to me.

"hmm, good luck...I guess?"
