Chapter 2 - New Goal

Callon did not know what to say, all he could do is nod with a smile. He was too overwhelmed to be able to piece the words together of how he felt. There was only one thing that could come to mind, and so he did it.

"Hello Neil and Riel. My name Callon Rymn. I am half elf and half human, 16 years old. You both probably knew this already since you have been with me this whole time. Just call me big brother from now on, okay? We are family after all. Now, tell me about yourselves." As Callon spoke, he stretched out a finger each for both to shake, he was scared to hug them since they were so small.

Both Neil and Riel shook his finger, both with a smile on their faces.

"Although we have both just fully awakened, we are in the youth phase, so we are more mature than we were in our infant phase. I can use wind, light, air and fire magic. My light magic has the healing effect. Neil uses dual daggers. He's noticeably quiet, so he won't speak too much unless it's in your mind."

As Riel spoke her final sentences about Neil, he manifested his two midnight black daggers that were sheathed and nodded his head with a slight blush. As Callon watched Neil, he could not help but notice how adorable he is, he is the opposite of the tough look he has with all the black he wears.

After realizing he had been staring for quite a while, Callon looked back at Riel. He did not know was supposed to happen after getting soul companions, he had never been able to learn. Deciding he needed to know more to be able to protect them and himself, he decided the best place to go would be the Spirit Hall in middle section of Candum. Candum is the land of the humans, and it is broken into three sections. The low section, where Callon lives, is the area where regular people without any powers or abilities live, they live their daily lives through hard labor. The middle section is where people who have proof of being a soul cultivator can live and work with their families. Finally, the high section is where the human royalty and nobles reside.

Callon had never visited the middle section of Callon, his family had never had a Soul cultivator that he knew of. His father died from overworking, and his mother died of an illness. After deciding what next steps to take, Callon got up from his bed and got ready. After putting on a black shirt, black pants, and a pair of black boots, he debated on what to do with his long black hair. As he investigated himself in the mirror, debating on what to do, he heard a voice in his head.

'Big brother, Neil can cut your hair using his daggers, I'm sure he will make it look wonderful. He may not look like it, but he has exceptional taste.' Riel speaking on behalf of Neil, who looked eager to help.

Callon lifted an eyebrow and nodded while looking at Neil.

After around five minutes of waiting, Callon turned and looked back into the mirror. He had never been too social, so he never bothered to look at his appearance or make any changes after his parents had passed away. To say that he was shocked by what he saw would be an understatement. Neil had cut his hair into a shaggy but controlled short haircut. The bangs were long, but not long enough to cover his bright blue eyes or the black mole below his right eye. He never realized how handsome he was before he took a hard look into the mirror.

Finally finished taking in his new look, he started at Neil and Riel with a warm feeling in his heart. It is time to figure out exactly what it is I need to do to protect my new family. It is finally time to walk the path of a soul cultivator.
