136 White Tree Forest

The party teleported to Lyria City without a clue about the problems that took place the previous night.

"I need to restock on potions, I'll be back in five minutes," FBS Fulcron said. They used lots of health potions while inside the volcano since they couldn't evade every attack. There were too many lions to avoid all the attacks.

The party waited for FBS Fulcron to come back. It was normal for a party member to run out of the potions and restock. A mundane part of questing.

Soon, they got a response from FBS Fulcron.

"What the hell are these prices!?!" FBS Fulcron said.

"A tiny health potion costs one silver coin in the market! What a scam! In all the other cities, it costs 10 copper coins which is one-hundredth of the price," FBS Fulcron ranted about the unfairness after checking the market.

"Is there a reason why it's so expensive?" Emile asked.

"They don't give a reason. It's just priced at one silver coin nothing more or less," FBS Fulcron said.

"The city prices might be a scam or they have problems with stock," Flower Queen said.

She tried predicting why the city sold the items for more. She didn't know that the people who created these items had left the city, so they mayor limited these potions by increasing the price of them.

"I'll give you some health potions for 12c each," Nimble Rod said. He gave an offer that would give him profit.

FBS Fulcron bought a few potions from Nimble Rod. They didn't share the health potions. Each party member bought health potions for their own use.

The party walked out of the city without another problem occurring. The health potion incident in Lyria City was slightly memorable but other than that they wouldn't care too much about the city.

The party walked towards Winter Tree Forest.

They noticed the snow getting thicker as they grew closer towards the direction.

Soon, it was a winter wonderland with frosted snow that glistened in the sunlight. They could see footprints entering the forest. Some new, some old.

It was a location for adventurers to hunt the Winter Deer. These deer liked to hide in the snow for their predators or prey. They would select a target and pounce on them. Adventurers had to be careful of the deer.

These pieces of information were the information that Scarlet Sunset sent to Emile.

They walked into the forest without anything happening. Emile had his sword out in case something came out and attacked them.

It was peaceful without much sound. Eerily quiet.

A deer lay inside snow watching the party grow closer. It waited until the party arrived five meters away from it. It leaped out of the snow and charged towards the humans. Its speed was fast and the white skin made it blend with the surroundings.

To Emile and the party, it appeared out of nowhere with no cues. It charged towards Flower Queen who narrowly summoned a wall to stop the Winter Deer in its tracks.

The Deer sensed that it would lose the battle, so it ran away from them. Emile and Flower Queen chased after the deer hoping they could kill it. Sadly, it disappeared back into the snow before they could get far.

"We should split up since these Deer think we're menacing," FBS Fulcron said.

The others agreed.

The party split up to find their own Winter Deers. It would take too long if they worked together since they would have to look for the Deer randomly. Going their separate ways would allow them to be more efficient.

Veronica stared at the mound that the Deer jumped out of and where it ran off to. She was in love with the place. She stood on the snow and waddled around leaving small footprints with her three toes.

The Volcano made her work hard to prevent the heat from burning her. She had no trouble surviving in that hot temperature.

This location was a paradise.

Emile walked around the forest without a cause. he was hoping to get lucky.

Veronica leaped off of Emile's shoulder and landed next to a small pile of snow. It looked normal pile like all the other patches of snow in the forest. Veronica began pointing at it.

Emile trusted her and decided to check the mound.

A Winter Deer darted out of the snow. It realized that Veronica had sold its position to the human, who was Emile. It ran away to get away from the human.

Veronica screeched out to stop the Deer. It was an impulsive decision by Veronica and it worked. The Winter Deer stopped running and stood completely still. The fear from Veronica who was a much higher being caused it to stop in fear.

"You can control monsters?" Emile said with wonder. The thought to control was the first thought he had.

Veronica replied by moving her head to the left and to the right. Emile didn't know why the Winter Deer stopped when it knew its life was on the line. The fear of death should have activated and caused it to run away.

Emile killed the first Winter Deer.

He gained the first piece of Winter Deer hide that he needed for the quest.

Emile continued walking around with Veronica who was like a metal detector. She would spot all the Winter Deer who lurked inside a snow mound.

Emile would shoot fireballs at the mounds since fire melted the snow. It was the best element to use at the mounds.

The deer would get hit once or twice by Emile and would attempt to run away.

Veronica did what she learned to do and screeched. Veronica gained experience since she contributed to the fight by freezing the mob in place. She increased in level slowly.

Getting the hides were a tedious process for the other members since they didn't have a way to stop the animal from moving. Veronica became the most useful creature during this quest.

Emile's efficiency was at an all-time high. The others walked around randomly with their guard's up hoping for a Winter Deer to jump out. They needed to attack the Winter Deer quickly before it could run away.

The party would use skills that could deal out quick bursts of damage to kill the deer.

These hides had a 65% drop rate from the Win. They had to kill 70 Winter Deers before they got the 50 Winter hides for the quest. The others had killed a small amount of Winter Deer when compared to Emile.

"Man, you're doing all the work in this quest," FBS Fulcron said as he scratched his head.

"Yeah... it's because I have all the good things," Emile said with a laugh.

Having a variety of skills and a pet allowed them to have an easy time for most of the quest. Now they only need the final item before they truly completed the quest.

"Let's meet up at the entrance before we leave," Flower Queen said. The party agreed to her request.

On his way back to the entrance, Emile got attacked by a Deer. He had his guard down and got hit by the deer.

It wasn't a problem for him since he had lots of health and could tank a hit. If he paid attention to his surroundings then he wouldn't have gotten hit.

"Always keep my guard up," Emile chanted in his mind. He needed to make this into a habit. Having your guard would lead to a safer journey through harsher times.

They quickly met up outside of the forest. The party was going to teleport to White Star City by using their space gems, but they noticed an interesting thing that was occurring.

In the distance, they could hear a strange noise occurring. It sounded like yelling and screaming.

"You guys want to check out what's going on?" Emile asked. They hadn't heard this sound when they first stood outside of White Tree Forest. Instead of the quiet, they could hear low sounds from the distance.

"We might as well," Flower Queen replied with a shrug. It didn't matter if they made a detour to visit another location.

The party walked towards the sound which was in the direction of Lyria City.
