78 Unfair Game

Emile cast fireball as he evaded the lighting bolt. The fireball flew towards the mana-based gatekeeper.

It did around 100 damage. He cast four spells before the attack related boss was at an attacking distance.

Emile took out his sword and attacked the boss. The mana based gatekeeper shot lightning at him. Emile had to move back to evade the attacks.

[The host's space to travel in is decreasing; in two hours the walls will crush the user. The bosses are immune to the walls]

The game told him that the amount of space he had left was decreasing. This caused no problems at the start of the fight. He had more than enough space, so he could dodge with ease.

Emile activated 7-hit slash early on during the fight. He wanted to put the skill on cooldown so he could use it again. The cooldown for 7-hit slash was 30 minutes, so he could only cast the skill four times at a maximum.

Since he wasted time near the start of the battle, he could only cast the fireball three times during the fight.

The seven-hit slash dealt 1569 damage to the second gatekeeper.

Emile continued attacking the 2nd gatekeeper boss. He was trying to observe the first gatekeeper to see if there were any cues to show when the spell would release.

Emile was multitasking. His body could dodge the 2nd gatekeepers attacks with ease. He used a portion of his brain to dodge the blows. The other portion was analyzing the mage bosses attacks and movements.

The mage boss had his wand lifted at all times so he couldn't base it off the wand. He even focused on the facial features of the mage boss to gain any clue.

After getting hit by the attack two more times, he noticed that the boss would tense its shoulders when it releases the lightning bolt.

It was a minute movement; challenging to notice. Emile moved out of the way as soon as he spotted the shoulders tense.

The mage couldn't change the trajectory at the end of the cast, so Emile could dodge the attacks as long he paid attention.

Emile felt that the fight become easier after he figured out this information.

The second Gatekeeper couldn't hit him due to his movements skills. The first couldn't hit him since he could predict when it would launch its attack.

Emile lowered the second gatekeeper's health to 50%. It used Venom Bite. Emile believed he could dodge the attack with ease.

Emile quickly noticed that the boss sped up to be much faster than before. Emile could barely track the bosses movement.

It moved like a blur.

Emile attempted to dodge the attack and failed.

[You are poisoned. Every 15 minutes you will lose 1/10 of your health]

The attack dealt a lot of damage to Emile and gave him a debuff.

Emile had a bit for than half of his health left. So he needs to end the battle before an hour and a half.

There was an hour and 20 minutes left, so Emile didn't have to worry too much about this time. The system would kill him before the venom could kill him.

Emile noticed a certain trend done by these challenges. They liked to put timers and time limits.

He attacked the second boss a few more times. Emile's cooldown for 7-hit slash ended, and he dealt a more than 1500 damage to the second boss.

These bosses didn't have a berserk skill. The unique thing about these bosses was that they had no weaknesses. That's the buff they get so that a player doesn't need to have a certain skill system to have an advantage during the quest. Everyone was on equal grounds when challenging these quests.

The boss reached 20% of its health. It used Venom Strike on Emile.

It sped up once again. Emile expected this and tried dodging the attack. He succeeded in dodging the attack.

The boss missed its skill even though it moved at breakneck speeds. Emile continued attacking the boss who could never hit him. The mage boss didn't see to feel the struggle that the other boss was feeling.

The second gatekeeper fell. Emile gave a breath of relief since fighting both bosses made his mind tired. It was draining.

Emile now didn't have to worry about one boss. He thought the battle would become smooth without a hitch. The boss wouldn't be able to hit Emile and he could lower the health until his death.

What could go wrong?

Never trust the system to give the player an easy time. Emile learned this lesson on this day.

The dead spirit of the boss that was killed floated up. The spirit flew towards the other boss. It entered the boss and made it stronger.

'This has to be considered cyberbullying; stupid game and your logic,' Emile cursed the game in his mind.

Emile received a system notification.

[Mission Gatekeeper #1 is now stronger]

Emile identified the stats of the boss after this message. He allowed none room for rest.

Mission Gatekeeper #1 {Buffed}

Chief Ranked Monster

Level 10

Hp: 33,021/33,565

Atk: 124-128

MAtk: 135-202

Agility: 58

Skills: {Thunder Bolt} {Volt Strike}

Weakness: Set to have no weakness.

The boss now had high attack values and a higher magic attack value. The boss charged at Emile in anger.

It now cast attacks while moving. Emile evaded them. The cues were harder to spot. He couldn't tell if something was an indicator or if it was the movement of the boss.

Whenever Emile suspected something, he would move out of the way. This created the safest way for Emile.

The boss arrived next to Emile and began to attack him. Sometimes it would lash out with his wand or other time it would cast a lighting attack.

Even though the boss had reached no specific health value it used its skills. It used {Thunder Bolt} which created the same attack as its normal attack but 10 times larger.

Emile freaked out when he saw the skill for the first time. He evaded the attack by using the skill version of {Void Steps}.

Emile continued to attack the boss and evade all the attacks. The boss used {Volt Strike} at 50% of its health.

This attack was a physical attack. The game had assumed that the player would target the Second Gatekeeper first, then target the second one.

It gave the first boss a physical skill to deal more damage when it was buffed. Emile spotted the boss begin a charge. Sparks surrounded the boss as it ran towards Emile.

Emile cast Yin-Yang Blast at the charging boss before running to the left at the last second. The bosses skill didn't end there.

The boss turned and ran towards Emile. Emile took out the wind gem from his inventory and used it. He hoped that the wind gem pushed the boss back.

The game didn't let him down. The boss couldn't continue. Its high agility could combat the wind. He assumed that the wind would push any mobs that had 100 or less agility back. The skill allowed the boss to have a much higher speed.

Emile didn't know how long the gem would activate for. Emile used his other gems. He began to spam items.
