70 The Uncovered Truth

Emile arrived on the forums. There was one post which was upvoted a few million times. Emile clicked on it.

It was a short video only about 50 seconds long. The video showed a man sitting in his room. The room was clean and organized. The man explained the purpose of the video.

"I'm here to prove whether the company was using hoax methods to get more people to play the game or that they were being truthful about having special powers." The man paused.

"I've learned the skill fireball. The fireball skill came from the skill system which you can purchase for 100 silver coins. The game rates the player on their casting ability. You can release the spell if it has a proficiency higher than 40%." He continued.

The man intended to give a tutorial on how to use the skill system even if using the ability in real life was fake.

This man was a famous streamer. They would play many games and record their adventures through videos. He also wrote many tutorials about all sorts of games.

"All right, I'll try to cast the skill now." The man said. The viewers were expecting this moment.

He whispered the incantations. The man closed his eyes to focus on the skill. The room was quiet which made his voice echo out. The viewers could hear his mumbling.

A small red flame appeared in his hand. The man opened his eyes.

The flame stood in his palms for a brief moment before dissipating. His face showed disbelief. He couldn't control his emotions and let the viewers understand that this wasn't an act.

The man calmed down.

He mumbled the spell again. He wanted to make sure his eyes weren't playing tricks.

The flame appeared once again.

The man's facial expressions turned to disbelief once more.

"Uhm... It l-looks like that the v-video they uploaded was real." The man stuttered.

"I want other p-people to try this. I hope I'm not going crazy." The man gained his bearings. He ended his video after this sentence.

Emile saw three more videos where the person used a spell. He knew that this wasn't a secret anymore.

Emile saw a post from the Nirvana developers.

Rules and Regulation

Seeing how players are using their skills in real life we will be creating some worldwide rules.

1) Players cannot use their powers for destructive purposes. If caught, then a bounty will appear on their head. Nirvanic people can capture this person to gain rewards.

2) Players cannot fight with each other in the real world unless they are under safe conditions.

3) People cannot use their powers to kill in the real world.

4) Players will be given privileges depending on how strong they are.

5)...

There were a lot of stipulations that a person with abilities must face. Many players began believing that powers existed. A few smart people noticed a few things from the rules.

"How are the people's strength measure in?"

"What privileges do we get?"

"What is considered 'safe conditions'?"

"What's the benefits of getting these superpowers if all we can do is fight?"

These were just a small portion of the questions that the players had.

A lot of players began their quest to get 100 silver coins. Players with 100 silver coins felt a wave of regret when they saw the waiting time. They needed to wait six hours to get the nutrients in their body. During this time they could get the skill points for their respective skill and practice it.

The developers didn't respond to these comments.

Emile understood that he would face quite a few restrictions after today. A lot of the world became more believing about this since no one had disproven it.

On this day the sales of the gaming cabin hit world record high. 3 billion players joined the game on this day which was more than the launch day. Everyone wanted to learn how to summon fire or any of the other elements.

Emile left the forums and continued posting the flyers around the city. After 30 more minutes, he had gone to most of the locations in the city.

He completed his goal.

Emile messaged the mayor. He told him about this information.

Emile was free.

He needed to earn coins. Many players were seeking routes to earn coins quickly. They looked for quests that gave out coins or fought in the arena. Some gambled hoping to get a big win.

If the price was one gold coin, then most players could not afford it. The latest update reduced the price; this was a smart move.

As Emile was thinking about finding coins, the game logged him out.

[There is a fire in your building. Please evacuate]

The game kicked him out after saying this. Emile acted calmly. He could cast water so he could put out the fire with ease.

Emile didn't know where the fire was. He didn't want to act like a vigilante.

"Open," the gaming cabin followed his instructions. He pushed himself up from the lying position and walked towards his window.

Emile opened the window and stepped out. There was a fire escape next to his window and the building's safety code was to exit through the staircase.

Emile watched people running down the staircase. He followed suit.

It didn't take long for people to put out the fire. Emile thought this was an interesting moment in his life. He didn't know what caused the fire, so he asked around.

"Where did the fire come from," Emile asked.

"Don't know," one person who lived in the apartment said.

Emile asked around and found out that no one knew who caused the fire.

They allowed the locals back in the building after the firefighters put out the fire. They left the building.

The firefighters told the locals about what occurred before they left.

The fire appeared on the third floor of someone's apartment. There was no sign that a fire would happen which confused the firefighters. Whenever a fire appeared, there was a cause, but this time they couldn't detect any cause.

Emile assumed that there was a person who had the fire skill system. If there were no causes, then it must have been a player with the skill system.

He asked the people on the third floor and figured out which room the fire came from.

Emile walked to the person's apartment after figuring out where the fire originated.

Emile stood in front of the person's door. He hesitated for a moment before knocking.

"Who is it? The fire wasn't my fault." Emile could hear a man's voice.

"I want to talk to you about something," Emile said.

The man hesitated for a few moments before opening the door.

"What do you want," he asked.

"May I come in," Emile tried to be polite.

The man appeared annoyed. Emile wanted to learn the truth and in his eyes, gaining a new friend was always welcome.

The man wouldn't want to talk about having special abilities while in public. Anyone of his neighbors could walk out and hear this conversation. Emile understood this and asked to head inside.

The man allowed him in.

Emile saw the charred bedsheets covered in black colored soot. It had the smell of burned cloth.

The fire hadn't spread which was a good thing.

"What do you want," the man said.
