120 The Second Statue

At first, the party was together. They went to the library to research the animal's locations. The library was one of the most useful places in the game since it had a vast amount of information. They found a beast encyclopedia which told them about the habitats of the bosses.

The Deer King was the closest boss since it lived in the forest next to White Star City. The Nymph Queen was near a city with a giant lake to the side. Cinder Goat's home was near the side of a mountain. And finally, the Dream Pegasus was near the top of a mountain.

They teleported away to their respective cities.

"It's been a while since we were together," Flower Queen said as they were teleporting to Pillar City.

"Yeah, we're always with the party," Emile said.

"We should hang out more often," Flower Queen said as she took a deep breath. Pillar City had fresh air around it since trees and plants were everywhere.

Pillars were the most common object in the city. These pillars had intricate designs on them. Some pillars had their tops broken off. Vines and other plant life grew onto these pillars.

It was an old city. They walked out of the east gate. The path went uphill. People didn't travel along this path since it led to a mountain.

"Are you ready for some exercise," Emile said with a laugh.

"Heh, I'm always ready," Flower Queen replied.

"Race?" Emile asked.

Flower raised her eyebrow at him and gave a nod after thinking about it.

Emile counted down, "in 3.. 2... 1... go!"

He started off by running forward. Flower Queen was trailing behind him. The uphill part of it slowed them down.

Emile couldn't see what Flower Queen was doing since he was running forward without a care in the world.

In the back, Flower Queen created a ramp made of the earth. She used the ramp to get higher up. She created a flat ground in midair and ran on it.

Her speed increased since she was on flat ground with no obstructions. Emile continued to climb the mountain normally. He soon saw the shadow of her ground above his head.

"Hey, not fair," Emile yelled out.

"You never implemented rules," Flower Queen said with a laugh as she continued to run on her flat ground.

She grew farther and farther away.

Emile's flight stone was on cooldown from usage earlier on. He couldn't fly and take the lead.

He could use Berserk to increase his speed, but that would waste the skill in case something major happened later on.

"All right. I quit," Emile said as he rolled his eyes.

"Build me a path up to your ground," Emile shouted at Flower Queen who had stopped.

She created a path up for Emile. The rest of the climb was much easier since the Flower Queen would create steps to reach higher altitudes. She had to create support for the floor since it could break apart due to the wind.

"It's too dangerous to continue by using the mud floors," Flower Queen said as she created a path back down to the mountain.

The wind was growing stronger the higher up they walked. Dark clouds lay above the mountain and crackling could be heard through the dark gray sky.

"I think we're almost there," Emile said. His voice was almost drowned out by the wind. That's how loud it was roaring near the top.

"Hmm..." Flower Queen stared up and looked at the peak, "yeah."

They continued their trek up the mountain. They arrived at the top. There was a small piece of flat ground. Only five by five meters. They could walk on it.

Without any surprise, an object lay on this flat ground. A statue.

Emile and Flower Queen began to look for strings.

"There's a string under the left eyebrow of the statue," Emile listed the strings he noticed.

They found nine strings after a bit of searching. Emile and Flower Queen pulled the first one up. They wanted to do this process quickly since they suspected that something would happen while working.

The investigation portion of the quest was complete. They wanted to be extra and remove the strings that connected the statue to the ground.

As soon as they touched the first one, the statue reacted with its red eyes. It floated in the air. Emile and Flower Queen moved onto the next string.

They had removed four strings. The statue shot down a lightning bolt from the sky which hit itself. The statue had a glow of lightning and something materialized in front of the statue.

It was the Dream Pegasus!

The Pegasus was in a spirit form. It gave a neigh and charged towards Emile. Flower Queen summoned a mud wall to stop it from continuing, but it failed. The spirit passed through the wall.

It continued charging. Emile pulled another string. He activated Berserk to increase his health by a lot.

He ran towards the other string and pulled it up. Flower Queen cast a debuff skill. it lowered the attack of mobs to 80%. The skill only lasted for 30 seconds, so it wasn't too useful.

In this scenario, it could cushion some damage he would receive from the attack.

The boss slammed straight into him. The boss did less damage since it was in spirit form. Everything lined up.

The boss hit Emile for 2923 damage. The attack damage was insane. Emile had 3800 health due to the Berserk skill.

He couldn't survive another attack from the boss. The boss sent Emile flying back. The boss pushed him off the mountain by the knockback. His flight stone's passive ability allowed him to survive the fall from the mountain.

The 95% decrease in fall damage made the fall feel like a tickle. It did give Emile anxiety as he was high in the air without support. He grew a fear of heights for a moment.

The Pegasus followed Emile who was now tumbling down the side of the mountain. It gave another neigh as the spirit animal moved at fast speeds.

Emile couldn't do any actions since he was plunging down the mountain.

Emile chanted his fireball. He could speak, so he chanted his skills in order to change his situation.

He released the skill onto the ground which did damage to him, but the knockback allowed him to move up.

During his ascent, he rotated his body so that his feet were facing the ground. He landed on the uneven ground with his feet.

He watched the Pegasus come closer.

Emile tried to dodge to attack, but the Pegasus was too fast and charged towards the direction he dodged towards.

Was this the end?
