[Quest: Delivery Boy]

[Objective: Deliver the letter to Guild Leader of the Alchemist Guild]

[Difficulty: D]

[Comment: This quest is easy. Don't forget to do this.]

[Progress: Not Delivered]

[Reward: Good Affinity with City Mayor]

[Time Limit: 1 hour]

[Penalty: Kicked out of the city]

The rewards weren't physical rewards. It was gaining favor from the mayor. Emile's prospects would be better if the mayor helped him out.

Emile wanted to continue browsing the market after getting the quest. Since the person had such high power, Emile left the building to complete the quest.

Emile had to rush since there was a time limit on the quest.

Emile would have to check for Mythril and Ancient Gears on another day. He needed Ancient Gears to upgrade his ring. The quest that the Dwarf gave to him required Mythril. He had to check for those items whenever he had the time.

Emile left the building. He ran on the sidewalk and passed the three different crossroads. He looked at the signs that surrounded him.

Emile spotted one giant one that said "The Alchemist Guild".

Emile walked into the building and walked to the front desk. He noticed that the lady had an alchemy pot next to her.

"Can I visit your guild leader?" Emile said. He spoke quickly since he didn't want his time to run out. He didn't choose to pay too much attention to her surroundings.

"No. You can't just walk in and ask to visit the highest power. That's not how we work." The lady said. She lectured him.

"I have a letter from the mayor." Emile tried to convince her.

"A letter from the mayor? What credentials do you have?" She asked. She became serious when he mentioned the mayor.

"I have none. There were no delivery boys that were free, so they asked me to deliver this letter." Emile said.

Emile was regretting about not asking for any methods of identification or proof.

"Why should I believe you," she said with a calm tone. Her eyes scrutinizing Emile to spot any lies or hoax.

"You can look at the letter. Don't open it though." Emile took the letter out of his inventory. He gave her the letter.

She looked at the letter and discerned the mayors signature stamp. She believed him.

"All right, take the elevator that's to the left of the two plant pots and head to the 20th floor." She said as she handed the letter back to Emile.

"Thank you," Emile said before walking to the elevator next to the two plant pots. He knew how elevators worked since he had one in his apartment.

Emile pressed the button for the 20th floor. He looked at the decorations that were inside the elevator. The walls had small purple potions printed on them. It repeated on all the walls.

This was an easy way to see what kind of guild it was. Everyone that worked for this guild was either obsessed with alchemy or enjoyed alchemy to extreme levels. The person sitting at the front desk also seemed obsesses since they had an alchemy next to them.

They probably improved their alchemy in their free time. As Emile had these thoughts, the Elevator gave a ding before opening.

He witnessed a man sitting behind an alchemy cauldron throwing herbs into the mix. He didn't want to disturb the man.

Emile watched the man throw different herbs and control the fire with skill. Every movement as fluid. The man didn't seem to be stopping. Emile watched as his time kept ticking down.

Emile had a feeling he would gain the ire of the person if he disturbed him. He continued to view the man.

Emile realized how many things an alchemist had to do to create something successfully.

They had to maintain the fire. Throw the ingredients in the right position and at the right time. They had to lower the intensity for certain herbs or increase for other herbs. They had to throw multiple herbs at the same time.

A person had to be superb at multitasking to do everything. They also required lots of practice to get to this step.

The man finished creating the potion after ten more minutes. He poured the liquids that the ingredients created into a flask. It was a green potion with hints of gold.

Emile identified the potion.

Strength Potion

Increase Strength by 5.

The effect only works 3 times per person.

It was a good potion which increased strength by 5. Emile assumed that there would be other types of potions which increased the other stats. The man turned around and faced Emile.

'Thank you for not disturbing me. I banned the last person who disturbed me during my potion creation from entering this city. I hold grudges." The man said while wiping his hands on a towel cloth.

"So what can I do for you." The man said. He cleaned the residue from the cauldron.

"The mayor wanted me to deliver this letter to you," Emile said as he handed him the letter.

The man washed his hands once more before grabbing the letter. He showed no hesitation when opening the letter. He tore it open without a thought.

The man began reading the letter.

"He wants a detoxification potion?" The man murmured under his breath after he finished reading the letter.

"Sir... what's a detoxification potion?" Emile asked after hearing what he said.

"The potions allow poison to leave the body and cures the patient. Normally, I wouldn't have to craft this item since it's a rank 1 potion. But he wants a rank 2 detoxification potion which will be a real problem for me." The man said while frowning.

"What are the rankings you discussed?" Emile asked politely.

"All potions have a rank. They range from 1 to 9. 1 being the lowest rank while 9 being the highest. They craft the detoxification potion at the first rank since the ingredients aren't expensive and the creation process is easy. Since I'm a rank 2 Alchemist, I don't have to craft rank 1 items. Usually, I craft rank 2 potions for the mayor, but this time he asked for a rank 1 item to turn into a rank 2 item." The man said.

"Is that hard?" Emile asked.

"Hard? Yes, it is extremely hard. It's easier to find a higher ranked potion with the same effects than find a potion that's above its normal rank." The man said.

"So can I do anything to help?" Emile wanted to see if this was an indication for another quest.

"Sadly, no. This relies solely on my skill level. I'll try asking the headquarters for ways to increase the rank of an item." The man said.

"Tell this to the mayor. I'll try my best and don't expect any results anytime soon." The man said.

Emile remembered his words and gave him a farewell. Emile took the elevator down to the first floor.

The man took out a small crystal from one of his pockets and inscribed some words on it. He crushed it after writing the words.

Emile noticed that the lady sitting at the reception desk was creating a potion. He didn't want to disturb her so he walked out without saying anything.

Emile walked back to mayor's building.
