153 Shopkeepers for the Shop

The next morning, Emile woke up and went to class. He discovered that he had a final exam coming up soon. He would have to spend some time studying for it.

After class, he paid a visit to his father's dojo. Emile wanted to find out how his father was doing for the past few days.

Soon, Emile left the dojo to enter his apartment. He logged onto Nirvana. He noticed that Time Walker was online. Time Walker wasn't as busy as before so he could play Nirvana for however long he wanted.

"What did you guys do yesterday?" Time Walker asked in the party chat. Emile logged on at the right time where no one had answered the question yet.

"We completed a few quests and got lots of gold coins. We also created our first shop that will sell Space Gems," Emile said.

"Can we open the shop now?" Time Walker asked.

Scarlet Sunset popped up into the conversation.

"Not yet. We should first advertise our shop to the guild members before we officially open it," Scarlet Sunset said.

"We can add a discount to the members of the guild," FBS Fulcron also appeared in the party chat and commented on the situation.

"Yeah, more people will join our guild if they get better treatment and better prices for good items," Emile said.

"What price are the Space Gems?" Time Walker asked with curiosity.

We made the 100 silver coins per Space Gem," Scarlet Sunset said. The profit was ten times the initial amount. The party would buy the Space Gems for ten silver coins, then resell it for 100 silver coins.

"Do we have everything planned and ready for the shop?" Time Walker asked.

"Nope," Scarlet Sunset said.

"What are we missing?"

"We're missing shopkeepers to stand at the stalls and sell stuff. We also need to figure out the online shop, but that shouldn't take too long," Scarlet Sunset said.

"Where are we going to find shopkeepers?" FBS Fulcron said.

"The Merchant Guild," Scarlet Sunset said.

"There's a merchant guild?" FBS Fulcron said. He never heard of this guild. The guild was a giant group of people who wander around the world selling different goods and consumables. Most shopkeepers are a part of the Merchant Guild since that ensures good money.

"We should hire a good shopkeeper," Nimble Rod said. Emile stayed in the background of the conversation. He was lurking and reading their responses.

"Do we have the money to do that?" Time Walker asked. He was unsure about their financial capacity.

"Yeah, we completed the quest that gave 7,500 gold coins," Scarlet Sunset said.

"Let me get the good shopkeeper from the Merchant Guild while you guys grind to get closer to my level," Emile joined back into the conversation. He wanted to see how the Merchant Guild worked and hire the person he thought was the most suitable for the job.

Players were still far away from Emile's level even though he was stagnant for a few days. He wasn't going out of his way to get experience, but he remained in first.

"If you want to. You could also grind to reach level 13," FBS Fulcron said.

"My level is too high. so I have some leeway to do other stuff like hiring someone," Emile said. He was trying to persuade his party to let him get the person.

"All right, if you want to," Scarlet Sunset said. Emile wouldn't be alone. Severn would follow since he had the duty to follow Emile most of the time.

Veronica stayed on Emile's shoulder. She didn't create a disturbance when Emile was attacking things. She was obedient.

Emile asked around for the Merchant Guild. He found out that there was only one Merchant Guild in existence. That Merchant Guild ran throughout the world. It was the highest rank a guild could be.

People couldn't create another branch of the Merchant Guild since they weren't trustworthy. The original Merchant Guild was the only trustworthy one.

Emile walked towards the Merchant Guild. The party grinded, looked for other quests or options they could do.

He arrived at the guild and stepped inside. There weren't many people hanging around the Merchant Guild. Most merchants were wanderers.

Some of them stayed in a city depending on the income they would receive from the employer. Emile wanted one people to sell his products.

Emile walked up to the reception desk and wanted to ask a question.

"If you have questions, then please pay me one silver coin. If you need help, pay me five silver coins. The price might increase during your times of crisis," the lady at the reception desk said without batting an eye at Emile.

These people were Merchants who tried to get money any way possible. The helpers required payment for help which was absurd. In most other cities, helping someone was volunteer work. They wouldn't have to pay anything to get help.

Emile didn't want to waste money, so he said no to her prices.

"Oh well," the lady said as she continued looking through her computer.

"How do you check the Merchants available?" Emile asked.

"Are you paying?"

"Nope," Emile replied.

The lady sighed and answered the question. They forced everyone who worked at the reception desk to answer questions. She wanted to trick Emile into paying her for an answer he could have gotten for free. The trick worked since most people didn't know the rules that these people followed.

Emile would have paid her the money if she continued to ignore him and the question, but she answered it.

"You have the tablet?" the lady said.

"Are you talking about this?" Emile asked as he lifted the tablet where he could purchase items from the online shop. He had to take it out of his inventory and show it to her.

"Yeah, pass me your tablet," the lady said.

Emile gave her his tablet, and she tinkered with a few things.

"You now have the app for merchants which allows you to see individuals and their different work experiences or job types," the lady said.

"Is that it?" Emile said as he opened the app to see how it functioned. He quickly noticed that the people on the app had their own descriptions of what type of job experience they've had, how long they've worked for, etc.

"Yeah," the lady said as she ignored him.

Emile looked through the app to see if he could find anyone of interest. He looked for people who had lots of job experience and had a lively personality. Emile picked a girl who had the looks to be a great shopkeeper and lots of experience.

Her charge rate was 15 gold coins per month. She would stay at one stall and run the business for the party.

The merchant app allowed for conversations to take place. Emile messaged the lady about his interest to hire her. He wanted to see how the girl spoke and interacted with others.

"You want to hire me? Well, my name is Rachel. I've been working as a shopkeeper/ manager for six years now. My father was a merchant, so I learned a lot from him. That's basically a rundown of what I do and my background," Rachel said.

"Nice to meet you, Rachel, I'm Emile. I'm creating a new store, so if you have any bias for that, then say it now," Emile replied. He knew some people with lots of experience wouldn't be willing to work for a new company or business because they weren't old enough.

"I don't care where I work. You could be new, old or whatever age you wanted to be and it wouldn't make a difference in my skill," Rachel said.

"That's nice to hear. You're hired. I'll fill you in on the details now," Emle said. Rachel sent a smiling emoji to Emile.

Emile told her that they only sold one item and that item was the Space Gem which would be a hot commodity. It was a guarantee since it would save lots of time for players.

Rachel also understood the sheer power of the item, so she was more than willing to work for the store. Their plot of land had three stalls on it, so Emile had to look for two more individuals.

Emile continued searching through the app and found two more shopkeepers. He asked to hire them.
