112 Preparations

"Where is the horde of monsters now," Emile asked. They stopped grinding on the mobs and begun to discuss the issue.

"We got some intel from some of the villages, they're around one hour away from the city," Severn said.

"That's how long we have to prepare for," Scarlet Sunset added on.

"We need to gather players and adventurers from the adventure guild," Emile replied.

"All right, FBS Fulcron and Nimble Rod will go around asking the players to defend the city. Scarlet Sunset and Time Walker will ask the people of the adventure guild. Flower Queen and I will go to other cities and get re-enforcements." Emile ordered out.

If they had a high level of contribution, then they could gain lots of rewards. The orders satisfied everyone since they could all gain good rewards at the end of the horde attack.

They didn't know what type of mobs existed in the monster horde.

"What mobs did they see when they scouted?" Flower Queen asked.

"Deers and Nymphs were the main mobs we could see. These creatures had red eyes as if they were mad." Severn waited a few moments before replying. He was asking his father for the information.

His father was stressing out in his office. He was calling the surrounding neighboring cities for re-enforcements and help.

Most of them said their warriors and mages were too busy with their problems. They didn't want to help the city. If the city falls, then they might become the capital city.

Their chances were high. Some even tried to sabotage them by cutting their supply of some ingredients and items. The mayor was trying to keep everything in check and organized.

"Time for a speech," the mayor murmured under his breath.

He asked his people to gather the people in a town square. This square could hold thousands of people. The people that couldn't fit could look at the event through their tablets.

This took around 20 minutes. Emile and his group had arrived in the city and realized that their conversation was meaningless since the mayor had everything planned out.

"People of White Star City, my pride, my joy, my everything. It saddens me to inform you all... our beloved city is being attacked by an evil group of creatures. They wish... to destroy our city. But fear not! Anyone with an ounce of strength, an ounce of courage, and an ounce of wisdom can join, and protect our Holy Land. Join me to protect this city. Now, raise your arms with me. We will defend our city!" The mayor said as he raised his arm.

"We will defend our city!"

"We will defend our city!"

"We will defend our city!"

The citizen chanted the sentence. The sentence vibrated throughout the square. Emile's party joined in the chant.

"To those who take part and contribute during this time, you will get rewards," the mayor said.

This increased the morale by a lot since rewards were the easiest way to get someone to do something.

The city's resources wouldn't matter if the mobs destroyed the city, so it was best to use it.

"The evil creatures will begin their attack in 40 minutes, so everyone should sign up if you want to take part in defending the city," the mayor said with enthusiasm.

"Let's join in," Emile said.

"Yep," his party agreed to his proposal.

There were around 100 players in the city. These players were informing their friends or guild member to arrive at White Star City and take part in the event.

It was a unique event for White Star City. Players who had the cash to teleport to a city flowed into White Star City. They signed up for the event.

There were players everywhere. The original 100 people turned into 600 people. These players were expecting the attack. The NPC's had the opposite approach. They hoped that the attack didn't occur.

Sadly, one side will have a smile on their face and, the other will feel disappointed. The player side was ecstatic as they saw the silhouettes of the mobs in the distance. The citizens of the city were praying in their homes for safety

These people assigned different areas to each person. The mayor's people looked for people with different strength values and placed them near people similar to them. They could only judge from looks and not from their actions.

They assigned Emile to the middle of the pack. His party could be randomly throughout the group.

[Contribution Rankings are now open]

[All actions by the player will increase their contribution or decrease their contribution]

[Please think before you do any actions]

The system used the last sentence to warn players about certain choices. if they retreated, then they would lose contribution. If they kill steal, they wouldn't get as much contribution as killing the mob by themselves.

The players were randomly placed inside the group. Only the NPC's could stay with their parties since the mayor's people knew about them.

The Goblins also joined into the group. The Mayor had told the citizens that the Goblins had allied with the human side. At first, the citizens didn't believe it, but after seeing the king of Goblins give the mayor a handshake and a smile towards the crowd, they had to believe the reality.

Discrimination always existed, so they banned goblins from entering the city. The citizens feared the goblins since they attacked and killed humans in the past. The city couldn't change overnight. It had to be a gradual process.

The mayor had told them that the Goblins would protect the city whenever they were in danger. The people took this in a positive light. Their opinion on the goblin race didn't change much. Few people accepted the goblins with an open heart.

Seeing the goblins join the group to fight the mobs startled the people and the players. They didn't think that the goblins would join in so quickly. They thought it would take some time to get the goblins to fight with the humans. The process was much faster than they expected.

The Goblin King managed to change the Goblins opinion of the humans in a short time. These Goblins didn't want to ally with the humans, but their king had allied with them for unknown reasons.

The king's strength was the deciding factor that changed the goblin's opinion. If the king was weaker, then the goblins would have rioted and overthrown the king. A new king would have been put in place.

Emile looked for his party members. The group was huge, so finding his entire party was going to be challenging.

He walked around and found a few of his party members.

There were too many people and goblins to look for, so finding his party members was harder than he would have ever imagined.

Flower Queen and Scarlet Sunset were walking around the group as well and saw Emile in the distance. They grouped up and looked for the other party members. The other members were in the back of the pack or near the front of the pack. Emile's group couldn't find them.

The mobs in the distance grew closer. They could see that the mobs at the front of the pack, were deer. This was the first obstacle.
