111 Negotiating

The mayor walked towards the goblin and two small figures in the distance.

"Nice to meet you," the goblin said with a smile.

"What's your goal?" The mayor led the conversation to the main point.

"I want your race to protect our land from disappearing," the goblin said with a smile. The bodyguards had a formation around the mayor in case anything happening.

"You want protection?" The mayor asked.

"I don't want to lose the land of the goblins. That's all I want, and in exchange, my race will protect the city whenever it's in danger," the goblin king said.

"We need to map out the territory that we can consider your land," the mayor said. He took out a map of the city and the surrounding regions.

They began to discuss lots of things about terrain, climates, habitats, and even fertile soil regions.

Emile and Severn had spars on the side as they negotiated land. Some bodyguards were staring at them for fighting in public.

It was unnatural for someone to enjoy fighting others. What was weirder was the fact that the person fighting was the mayor's son.

They hadn't heard about the mayor's son for a few weeks. He seemed to disappear for a few days, so seeing him again gave them a breath of relief. The mayor's son was a popular figure among the citizens.

Soon, the negotiations ended. The goblin was happy with what he received and the mayor was happy about gaining a new protection for the city.

"Now, we need to set up everything before we can tell the citizens," the mayor said.

"All right. You guys will get some rewards from the Kingdom for this achievement," the mayor said.

"Aren't you also going to get rewards for informing the kingdom about this?" Severn said.

"Yep," the mayor said with a laugh.

"All right. I'm going to go back and inform the goblins about this. They're too stupid to understand my intentions," the goblin king said as he shook his head.

"See you whenever the city is in danger," Severn said.

"Well, I might visit your land to try out the foods," Emile said with a laugh.

"I'll welcome you personally if you do come," the goblin said with a hearty laugh.

The goblin walked away. The mayor walked away into the distance with his bodyguards.

"Back to grinding," Severn said.

"I guess, there's nothing else to do," Emile replied with a shrug.

"Have the statues been placed near the kings?" a man in a dark cloak spoke to another man wearing a dark cloak. The man who spoke had dark red eyes.

"Yes. The Goblin King, the Deer King, the Queen of Nymphs, the Cinder Goat, and the Dream Pegasus has fallen for the statues," the man replied. The man had an indistinguishable face which couldn't be recognized from a crowd.

"Hmm... I don't sense the spirit in one of the statues. It's the spirit binding the Goblin King. Someone must have destroyed the spirit," the first man in the black said. His red eyes stared deep into the eyes of the other man. He could sense the spirits of the statues since he was the one who trapped them in the statue.

"That wasn't my fault," the other man said. He was shivering inside the cloak. Those eyes were a terrifying sight when they were focusing on you.

"I won't blame you since it doesn't affect our plans," the man with red eyes squinted.

"Remember to find a way to distract the Guild Leader and everything will fall into place," the man with red eyes said before closing his eyes. This was his way of sending the other man off.

The other man left the basement.

The next day...

"Hey Emile, how many ice-related objects did you find," Severn asked while grinding.

"I'm still at four unique objects that are related to ice," Emile said as he killed another mob.

"I'm waiting for the Phoenix to appear and make our lives easier," Severn said.

"I'm waiting for a response from the Alchemist headquarters," Emile said.

"Like I said, you don't need to worry about my weak body," Severn said with a laugh. Emile asked the headquarters to identify Severn and figure out his problems. They haven't given a response yet.

"If you don't grow stronger how will we continue to spar. All right, what has your dad figured out about the statues?" Emile asked.

"Those statues have a weird purple demon face on the inside of it. That face was giving the statue the power to bind a being like the Goblin King," Severn said.

"Are there any other statues like that," Emile asked.

"Not that we know of," Severn replied.

"I feel like that's going to be a bigger problem than we think," Emile said.

"We can't do anything about it, other than brace for impact," Severn said.

Emile sighed.

"Can you guys stop talking as if we're not here," FBS Fulcron said with annoyance.

"If those statues come to life, we'll destroy it with our might," FBS Fulcron said with a laugh. They were grinding together as a party.

"Did your space gem sell?" Nimble Rod asked.

"Yeah, some dude bought it," Emile said with a laugh.

"Add around ten space gems into the market for high prices such as 800 silver coins," Scarlet Sunset said as she hit another mob.

"All right," Emile said.

The other party members were level 10 and some reached level 11. The cities had lots of random quests that a player could take. Their party took few quests and were relaxing as they fought mobs and picked up quest items.

They witnessed the new classes that the other party members had. Lily showed off her skills by sneaking behind enemies and dealing a huge amount of damage due to many bonuses. Any attack from the back dealt double damage. Her class gave a buff whenever she attacked from the back.

She also gained the stealth skill which allowed her to blend into the surroundings. Her earth abilities allowed her to soften her footsteps causing her to be a better assassin.

FBS Fulcron gained the ability to breathe out a fire. This was a skill he received from the pyromancer class. He would attack in melee, then breathe out the fire on the opponents face.

Emile tested out the skill on himself. Emile and FBS Fulcron fought in close range and FBS Fulcron used the skill on him. He moved back, but the breath traveled farther. Soon, it stopped due to its range limit.

It was a good skill whenever the opponent suspected nothing.

"Guys, there's a huge problem going on," Severn said.

"Seven villages were destroyed by mobs," Severn said.

"Villages? How and why?" FBS Fulcron was the first to respond.

"There's a horde of mobs moving through the different villages and destroying them," Severn said.

"Where is it heading next?" Scarlet Sunset said.

"It's gaining momentum by adding more mobs into the horde. Its target is now a city," Severn said.

"Is the city White Star City?" Emile said with worry.

"Yep," Severn nodded with utmost seriousness.

Attacking White Star city was an easy way to get fame since it was the weakest capital city. If the capital city fell, then the higher-ups would become embarrassed by how weak the city was.
