69 Frame of Mind

"I wish to thank you for all of your help," The mayor said.

[Your quest penalty is changing]

Emile checked his quest. He noticed that the penalty had decreased.

[Penalty: -3 Levels]

It no longer stated that he would gain the hatred of the mayor. The mayor had seen Emile's effort and realized that all they could depend on was luck. If they were unlucky, then he couldn't do anything about it.

"I'll print out the flyers so you can post it on the lampposts," the mayor said.

"All right, tell me when you have the flyers ready," Emile said.

"Let me give you my contact information. You can use that tablet to contact me. I can also contact you," the mayor said.

"All right," Emile had gained the mayor's contact information. He now had connections with a high-ranking individual.

"I'll be leaving now, see you on another day," Emile said before walking into the elevator.

The mayor gave a wave before going back to work. This was just another episode in his life.

Emile went back to the lounge and browsed the market. He had a busy few hours. There was less than an hour left on his water nutrients.

Emile wanted to look for Mythril. He had 13 on him and needed to get more. He required 17 more.

Emile noticed that there was a lot of Mythril in the market. It was rare in the Kantaro Mines but the cities had an easy time to gain those ores. It cost less than the average amount listed by the person in the mines. Emile bought 14 pieces of Mythril for 140 silver coins. He couldn't buy anymore since he needed 100 silver coins to give to a player who could find the Silver Roots.

Emile now had 105 silver coins. 100 silver coins in case a player gets a Silver Root and 5 for whatever else. He has gone broke.

Emile didn't know what else to do, so he teleported to Kantaro Mines and began grinding with his party. Flower Queen was getting closer to level 10. Time Walker was behind by some amount.

Nimble Rod had been gaining experience faster than others since he was one of the few players to attack at melee range. Nimble Rod and Scarlet Sunset were both level 8. they were getting closer to level 9 but it would take more time.

He joined the party which caused the efficiency of the party to increase. They continued to kill the alligators.

The system had assimilated Emile's water nutrients into his body while he was grinding.

He knew at any moment someone would reveal everything about the Nirvnanics.

He didn't need to test out the water ball in real life since he knew it would work.

Emile received a message from the tablet.

"I have all the flyers printed out. You can come to pick them up if you have the time," the mayor messaged Emile.

Flower Queen was close to hitting level 10. Emile waited until she reached level 10 before going back to the Kantaro Mines.

After a few more kills, she had reached level 10. She wanted to stay with the party and continue killing.

She continued to grind with the party.

Emile headed back to the Kantaro Mines and teleported back to White Star City. This cost him ten silver coins.

Emile now had 95 silver coins. He needed five more silver coins to pay the player who could find the Silver Roots.

Emile asked the mayor about getting five more silver coins. The mayor gave him this amount. In his eyes, it was only some spare change.

Emile tried to place the flyers in his inventory. He placed most of the flyers.

[Inventory is full. The weight causes you to move at 75% of maximum speed. Please store your items.]

The system had told him to store his items. Emile told the mayor that his inventory was full and needed to place his items somewhere. He left the remaining flyers in the office. Emile left his office.

He asked the person at the reception desk about a storage place.

The man mentioned that there was a place to store items if he walked to the right of this tower. It was two buildings to the right of the mayor's tower. Emile realized that this area would be popular since the players could meet the mayor and store items here.

If anyone received a shop in this district then they would flourish due to the number of players.

Emile went to the storage and stored his Mythril. He had 27 Mythril after buying from the market. He needs three more to complete the quest.

Emile placed the Mythril and the old equipment that he didn't need. He kept the helmet with the thorns since it was useful for certain scenarios.

Emile took the remaining items from the mayor's office before placing the flyers on the lampposts. He began his trek around the city.

Emile placed one near the Tailor Guild, the Alchemist Guild, the Alchemist Guild, the Blacksmith Guild, the Culinary Guild, and many other famous locations. He also entered the Residential District to place the flyers on the lampposts. It was hard work.

As Emile was placing the flyers, he received an interesting message from a certain player. Emile always received messages from random people since he was popular. Emile didn't check his messages often.

These messages were from someone he met a long time ago.

"Can I talk to you about something," River Bull messaged him.

This person antagonized with Emile multiple times.

"Does it involve you wanting to kill me," Emile was straightforward in his response.

"No," He typed at breakneck speeds. He didn't want Emile to assume that he had ulterior motives.

"What do you want," Emile didn't like this category of a player who got agitated from the smallest things.

"I want to say sorry. I realized that I was being a d*ck. So, I'm sorry for any troubles I've caused you," River Bull took a while to type this out. Admitting about being wrong was one of the hardest things to do.

Most people can't admit that they're wrong without overthinking things.

Emile felt surprised since he thought River Bull was a player who would admit nothing. You can't always judge a person by their actions.

"You don't have to. It was also my fault for being a nuisance," Emile wasn't as harsh as before.

"Yeah right. I got jealous that you could enter the Chief's home. That jealousy clouded my mind. I wanted to get all the good quests. After you entered the city that jealousy left me. You received access to his home because you were a better player than me. If you weren't a good player, then you wouldn't have been able to kill my guild members." He said.

River Bull's frame of mind changed. He wasn't the self-centered young master personality. That personality might be dormant. He now had an open mind which was praiseworthy.

"Uh... thanks for the compliments. You're a good person since you could admit these things." Emile said.

"Well, I'll send you a friend request. Let's be friends." River Bull said.

Emile accepted him into his friend's list and continued posting the flyers.

"Emile, the truth is out. Go to the forums." Flower Queen messaged him.
