28 Fox Thief

Emile stood in front of the weapon dealer's shop. It was a large opening that leads to the inside of the store. The outside had a logo with a sword and shield. Underneath the sword and shield were the sign stating the name of the location.

Emile saw many people walking in and out. He walked in after observing the crowd.

The weapon dealer's shop wasn't one person shop. It was a combination of many people working together and selling goods. It was a dazzling sight, seeing the enormous amount of weapons.

Even though the world was called the World of Swords, the shop sold other categories of weapons.

There were subsections inside the shop for each different category of weapons.

Emile went to the sword section since he needed a good sword.

Emile had a slight edge over the other cultivators. He had the game system which allowed him to identify the items and what stats it gave.

Emile looked through all the swords that were on display. None of the swords caught Emile's attention. He wanted a better sword.

He asked one of the managers about the swords.

"Do you have any better swords," Emile asked.

"No, If we did have 'better' swords then we would display it," The manager said. The manager thought that this person was a country bumpkin.

He didn't discriminate against people. He knew that people could be a hidden expert. If he offended one, he would get killed off.

"Do you know of any location that might have better swords," Emile asked.

"Uhh... If you would like to buy a better sword, then please visit the auction that is coming up in 1 week." The manager said as nicely as he could without freaking out. He was worthy of the job.

Emile thanked the man and left the weapon dealer's shop.

Emile didn't know how close he was to getting kicked out of the shop. He walked to the armor dealer shop.

The front of the shop was a full body suit of armor. It had the name of the shop below the armor set.

Emile entered the store and saw different sections once again.

He walked around the different sections. He found some decent pieces of armor.

Warriors love to wear this pair of gloves.

Items of this world didn't have any skills. Emile had items equipped on him before he entered the world. Most of these items had skills.

Emile didn't know if the skills were usable in this world. He would have to test it out in his room.

Emile saw a new type of text at the bottom of the identification. There was an option to bring the item out of the world. This item couldn't be brought out.

Emile could deduce that there had to be some items that could be brought out of the world. If there weren't, then that text wouldn't be there.

Emile didn't see a single item with a skill. He bought the pair of gloves for 30 silver coins.

The gloves originally cost 45 silver coins. But with a bit of haggling and demeriting the item he lowered the price to 30 silver coins.

After Emile left the Armor Dealer's shop, he looked for rich people since he noticed that they had the most money.

Emile decided to judge them. If the person satisfied him, he wouldn't steal from them.

He would judge based on their actions, personality and what relationships they have with other people. Arrogant young master was on the very top of his hit list.

A king of thieves emerged for a short time frame.

For a few days, news came out of people being robbed one by one.

It was always the same fox mask. The person robbed for an entire week straight. The lives of the rich had been severely affected. They had gotten close to capturing the person when a nerve refining stage attacked the person.

The person avoided the attacks from the Nerve Refining Stage and escaped. The defenders of the attack felt proud.

They became even more arrogant and started to insult the mask-wearing person.

The person checked their pockets and noticed that their wallet had disappeared. Their face went pale as they realized that the mask-wearing person had pickpocketed them.

During the fight, the mask-wearing person had gotten close to the young master and stolen the wallet while they were distracted.

They ran away after stealing the wallet.

A few hours before the auction Emile was lying in his bed resting. He worked hard for the past week.

Whenever he noticed someone rich, he would pass judgment like a death reaper.

Emile became very rich after this week. He had over 4000 gold coins which he stole from people.

The most he got from one person was 400 gold coins. The person was delivering something to a company.

He never stole any valuables like jewels. Selling off the valuables would take lots of time. He could get traced back. Then he would get captured by the guards if they successfully trace him.

This became a legend in Scarlet City.

They called him the Fox Thief.

The commoners were happy about the rich losing a lot of their money. Emile didn't know about this.

He knew he had a bad reputation among the rich but had the reputation of a saint among the poor.

Emile woke up from his bed and walked to the auction house. He asked for directions the previous. He didn't wear his fox mask. There was a citywide ban on fox masks because of him.

The auction house was huge. It was like a stadium.

There was an entrance with hundreds of people lined up to enter. Emile got on the line and waited.

After a few hours, he managed to enter the auction house. They made him pay one silver coin to gain entry. On the inside, there was an array of seats that went from the very bottom to the top.

There were also multiple sections to the auction house. The very top was private rooms for rich and powerful people.

Emile wanted a room up there since he would be using lots of money. He would be considered a target if he was in the general crowd.

"What are the requirements to get a room up there," Emile asked a manager.

"Have 500 gold coins, or have significant power," THe manager replied indifferently.

"Alright then I want a room up there," Emile showed 500 gold coins from his bag.

The manager looked at Emile from top to bottom. The only thing that the manager noticed was that Emile was wearing worn-out clothes. He didn't seem to be a rich person.

The manager thought Emile was an average person. After seeing the gold coins his mind changed. The manager promptly took him into his own private room.

"You may ask a maid for any food or drink that you desire. They will bring your desires to you," The manager explained.

Emile asked for some water and grapes. He ate as he waited. The other private rooms were quickly filled up.

There were 30 private rooms. This meant that there were quite a few rich people at this auction. Emile had the urge to take their money from them.

Emile stole money for two reasons. One, it was the fastest way to earn money, and two, he would disappear from the world in three months meaning that he doesn't have any consequences.

Emile suppressed his urge to steal from them. After two more hours of waiting, the auction officially began.
