41 Discovering a Dungeon

The next morning was a Saturday. He had no classes on this day. Emile wanted to use the entire day to gain alligator scales. This was the original plan.

He logged onto Nirvana after ordering and eating breakfast.

"Hey, there you are. We found a dungeon. It's a dungeon that refreshes every 24 hours. There are a lot of guilds here. Do you want to go clear the dungeon?" Time Walker messaged him as soon as he logged on.

Messages bombarded Emile.

It surprised Emile. He had heard of dungeons in previous VR games. It took almost an entire week before they found the first dungeon.

In most MMO's, dungeons were available since the first day. Emile thought dungeons didn't exist in Nirvana since the forums never talked about dungeons.

"Is it like other dungeons? Where they have difficulty settings?" Emile asked.

"Yeah, It's a party based dungeon meaning 5 players can go in. I saw guilds bring ten players meaning they are level 2 guilds." Time Walker said.

Where is it?" Emile asked. He wanted to try out a dungeon for the first time.

Dungeons give good lot and experience. It was the main source of great items. Other than the bosses on the main map.

"Go to the teleporter and teleport to Nile Village. You'll see a river to the left of the teleporter. Follow the river toward the rock that's green. It's the only rock there so just go towards the rock and continue walking. You'll see more players the farther you go." Time Walker said.

Emile didn't know if his directions were trustworthy. He wasn't great at describing the environment.

Emile walked towards the teleporter of Kantaro Mines. He didn't know if the mines had a teleporter.

All the places he had visited had a teleporter, so he assumed that Kantaro Mines also had one.

"The teleporter is over there," Emile asked someone and they pointed at a direction.

Emile activated the teleporter for the first time. An array of options appeared. It was like choosing his own village. This time, there was a search option. He searched for Nile Village.

He found the village and selected it.

[Would you like to teleport to Nile Village?]

"Yes," Emile replied and time-space moved around in unusual ways.

After a few seconds of having blurry vision, he appeared in Nile Village. He looked around.

There was a river to the left of him. Player and NPC's were on the right minding their own business. There were more players in Nile Village than in Song Village. It was most likely due to the dungeon that emerged next to it.

Emile walked on the sand next to the river. He searched for the rock. There was only one rock that was protruding from the ground. It had green on like Time Walker stated.

Emile walked towards the rock and passed it. He continued walking on the bank of the river. He felt peaceful hearing the river waves hit the riverbank.

Emile's life became more chaotic after he played Nirvana. He didn't have to fight as often. He would only fight around 3 or 4 times with his father.

Emile hadn't fought with any other opponents. He enjoyed fighting against people who were strong. Improving himself was the number one goal.

All other goals are secondary.

After walking down the riverbank he saw an increasing amount of people. At first, it was one or two he would pass.

Then he saw entire parties and, at last, an entire marketplace full of people.

No one could create a guild yet. There was no option in the settings to create a guild.

Guilds were on in name. There was no logo to differentiate between guilds. Spying was much easier since people could say they are a part of the guild and get away with it.

Due to this, guilds have their own passcodes which changed daily. Only certified guild members received a message which stated the password.

The guilds would recruit members secretly. They didn't want their opponents to figure out when they were recruiting.

Even though they took so many measures, spies still existed.

As long as the benefits were high enough even the guild leader could betray their guild.

There were also a few individual parties mixed in. Their appearances were the same as the guilds. They couldn't be differentiated.

Guilds members yelled out their guild name for players off their guild to come towards them. If a player came towards them, they would have to state the password for the day before the guild accepted them.

The dungeon was a hole in the middle of the river. The river moved out of the hole's way. It flowed around it which looked strange.

Players always entered the hole. They would disappear after they passed through the hole. They teleported them to the dimension of the dungeon.

"Where are you guys," Emile asked after looking around. He couldn't spot them in the player groups.

"Wait, I'm about to pick up Time Walker. You should see him stand above the entire crowd soon." The Handsomest Crab said.

This was a rather unique way of approaching this problem.

After a few moments, he heard yelling from his right.

"Hey, over here," Time Walker yelled out.

Emile looked around and saw Time Walker standing above everyone. Other guilds were judging him. He didn't seem to care about the opinions of others which was a good trait to have.

Emile walked over in their general direction. As he was walking, Time Walker got down from the shoulders of the Handsomest Crab.

Emile walked over and noticed his entire party relaxing and talking.

"Why do you sleep so late," Time Walker asked.

"It's only 9 AM," Emile said.

"I was on Nirvana from 6 in the morning, So I expected better from you." Handsomest Crab said jokingly.

"What happens when you enter the hole," Emile asked after ignoring his friend's response.

"You get teleported to a location. After you get teleported, there are 5 entrances. Each entrance has a sign next to it." Flower Queen said after staying quiet and listening to their exchanges.

"There is the first entrance which says easy. Then it's normal. It moves onto hard and insane. They call the final entrance Extreme." Flower Queen continued.

"Where did you learn about this," Emile asked.

"The forums. As soon as people discovered this dungeon, guilds rushed here. So far, the highest a party has gone is completing the easy version of the dungeon. The dungeon has level 10 mobs which makes it much harder for players who are at a lower level." Flower Queen said in one breath.

"More guilds will come soon. Right now I heard they are gathering members." She continued after taking a breath.

"All right, let's enter. We should be able to complete the easy version of the dungeon since we have uncommon pieces of equipment." Emile said.

His party was They considered his party strong for an independent party and even equal to some parties that were a part of guilds.

The best parties had full sets of uncommon equipment with some rare pieces of equipment.

Emile's party stood on the line to enter the hole.

After 25 minutes of waiting on the line, it became their turn to enter the hole.

They leaped into the hole.
