116 Checking the Rewards

Emile opened the contribution rankings. He realized that they included the NPC's in the contribution ranking. These NPC's were all near the top for contribution. The game expected for raids like these to occur in the future, so NPC would slowly become obsolete as players started to surpass them.

They ranked Emile at 14. He was number one amongst the players. The other NPC's were the ones that did the most damage to the bosses. They listed all the things that allowed each person to get their rankings.

Rank 1 was the guild leader. She did 84.4% of the damage to the Pegasus. The game understood that the boss was the most challenging portion of the entire fight. Many people and players would have died if she hadn't appeared and ended the Pegasus's life. The game had crowned her as the greatest contributor to the fight.

Rank 2 did 12% of the damage to the Deer King. 8% to the Water Nymph Queen. 6% damage of the damage to the Cinder Goat. And 0.8% to the Pegasus. They also killed many small mobs and tanked hits for the party.

Emile didn't know who this person was.

Emile did a decent amount of damage to the boss. He also received the contribution for disturbing the Pegasus when it used its lightning skill. Another piece of a random contribution that he received was when he yelled out for the people to run back. The game realized that he made a smart choice by doing that.

His damage was less than most of the NPC's near the top of the ranking since they were all level 20-25. But his random contributions allowed him to have a high ranking.

Emile received two rare items from his contributions. They would take these items from the city stock which have been left in the dust for a long time. The city lost a decent amount of resources which would take time to fill up once again.

They included goblins in the contribution rankings. The system didn't discriminate against the goblins and gave them rewards. The problem was that they could not use certain items since they had a different body build.

Perky ears with a wider body than most humans. Most are shorter than humans. The ones that are taller are the strong eyes with bulky bodies such as the Goblin King. The Goblin King took part in the fight by ordering goblins to kill the normal creatures. He never attacked the bosses.

Emile was number one among the players. Number two among the players was the 63rd in the rankings. There was a huge lead between number one and number two.

They got that ranking by dealing lots of damage and by ordering their party members to use certain strategies to help people. The person was the healer who went throughout the battle healing people and dealing damage. Emile identified the two rare items he received. There was a pair of boots.

Whisper Boots

A pair of boots best suited for an assassin.

Level Requirement: 10

Rank: Rare

Strength +21

Agility +24

Vitality +13

Skills: {Light Steps} {Whisper of Doom}

{Light Steps}

A passive skill that lowers all noise by 75%.

{Whisper of Doom}

The players cast a whisper at an opponent. The whisper has an 80% to do nothing. 10% chance to confuse enemies. 9.9% chance to decrease the opponent's health by 33%. 0.1% to instakill the opponent.*

Note: 2nd and 3rd effect don't work on bosses beyond the Great Chief Ranking.

Lily paid him 1 gold coin for giving him the boot. She didn't have another good pair of boots, so she gave him money.

Emile rejected her offer. It would be rude to accept her money, but she forced her money onto him.

"Keep the money!" Lily said as she stomped her feet on her ground. She gave a pout to show her seriousness.

Emile sighed and said, "fine."

That took a lot of conversation before he accepted. She stuck her tongue out and laughed after he accepted.

He grew one gold coin richer. The next item he received was a pendant. Emile's old pendant had run out of uses for its skill. All it gave were stat increases.

Strength Pendant

A pendant that increases strength. There isn't much more to say about this.

Rank: Rare

Strength +46

Skills: {Attack Buff} {Super Attack Buff}

{Attack Buff}

Does what the name suggests. Buffs attacks by 50% for 1 minute.

Cooldown: 30 minutes

{Super Attack Buff}

Does what the name suggests except with more super. Buffs attack by 200% for 1 minute.

Cooldown: 6 hours

Note: The skills can be stacked. When used at the same time. The player does 250% attack for 1 minute.

Emile equipped this pendant and removed his old pendant. Some of his stats dropped by a small bit, but his strength stat skyrocketed. Emile was getting closer to 300 strength. An average player had around 60-80 strength if they were at his level. Emile's strength was more than 3x bigger than an average person.

Most average people had a high amount of spirit and intelligence since those stats affected the Nirvanic skills like the fireball.

Emile was a tank. If he got close to a person, they were as good as dead with his stats. He could kill a player in one or two hits. Players would have to attack over 30 times if they wanted to kill Emile with his high amount of health.

Emile was OP in the stats department. On the other hand, he was much better than average in the skill department. There are people who could wield their Nirvanic abilities in much better ways than Emile.

"Does the guild leader get any rewards?" FBS Fulcron said.

"I think none of the rewards that the city has to offer would be useful to her," Scarlet Sunset said.

"She worked without profit," Nimble Rod said.

"If she's so strong, then why is she in a weak city?" FBS Fulcron asked. It was weird for an OP character to make an appearance in a weak city.

"It's the capital city, they need to have some sort of protection," Scarlet Sunset said.

Scarlet Sunset rambled, "the attack doesn't seem to random. Why would four strong creatures group together with their brethren to destroy cities and villages? It doesn't make much sense. Plus having red eyes hurts the case even more. Emile."

She called out to Emile. Emile looked at her.

"You mentioned that the Goblin King had red eyes, am I correct?" Scarlet Sunset asked Emile.

"Yeah," Emile said. He connected the dots with that one question.

"Well here's what I got. Remember how all the mobs have red eyes? Maybe, someone is planting statues to twist the mob's personalities. They have a goal in mind. I think it's destruction without a cause or to give a bad reputation to the surrounding areas," Scarlet Sunset said.

"Oh yeah, there are kingdoms in the game. They want to give the kingdom a bad reputation by destroying one of its capital cities," Emile remembered how Severn was talking about kingdoms and how they would gain some a reward from the kingdom for befriending the Goblins.

Emile didn't know when this reward would arrive. A kingdom should be fast in its deliveries.

"We can't do anything about it. We have no information about the creator of the statue or... statues if what you predicted is correct," Flower Queen said with her eyes closed. She was lost in her thoughts.

They all received some items depending on what they did. His party received coins and one piece of rare equipment. Emile didn't know what the top 10 received. There weren't close to Emile, so he couldn't go up to them and ask them.

The players began to leave the region.
