59 Challenge Mission I

"Technology? Have you looked at the villages time of existence? Most of them haven't learned how to create technology. We bought the blueprints for these technologies and mass-produced them. The city had to amass lots of resources to gain this much technology. And that's why we're a tier 1 city. The villages don't have enough resources to get technology," she said.

She grabbed Emile's ID and gave it to him.

"This ID allows you to do many things. You can accept missions from it and get the rewards from it. You can give the ID back if you want to edit anything. When you get a class come back here, and I'll edit your ID." She said.

"Thank you, miss..." Emile didn't know what to call her.

"I didn't introduce myself. I'm Stella," she replied.

"Thank you, Stella," Emile said.

"No problem," Stella said before turning back to her computer.

"Hey, do you know how to get medallions," Emile asked William since he didn't want to disturb Stella.

"Medallions? You mean the adventure guild's mission to gain a class?" William said.

"Yeah," Emile said.

"Does that mean you have the other three medallions?" William asked.

"Yeah, Emile replied again.

"How lucky. Go to your ID's menu and check the mission menu." William said. He didn't feel too surprised since this was the first person to arrive from a village. He had to have some luck and skill to get to the cities first.

William knew he was from a village since Emile mentioned the villages earlier on.

Emile followed his instructions.

When he opened the ID's menu he saw a few tabs. The first tab was the profile tab. It showed his name, his class, and his rank. His rank was F.

He had an experience bar under his rank. It showed him he needed 50 AP to level up.

"What does AP stand for," Emile asked after seeing this.

"Adventure Points. Check the mission tab out. You get AP from completing missions and other errands." William said with patience.

Emile didn't want to make him wait, so he clicked on the mission tab.

Mission with rewards appeared.

Comment: Please kill five goblins. They have been terrorizing my home and creating too much noise.

Comment: I need Orias Herbs to make a Cleansing Potion.

...

There were many F-rank missions that Emile could take.

"Go to the search option when you're in the missions tab," William said.

Emile followed his instructions.

"Then use the rewards searching method. When you get there, search for the medallion and you'll find the quests that give medallions," William said.

Emile typed medallion and saw a few quests that gave medallions.

The challenge quests were going to be difficult. Emile had trouble when facing against one Great Chief ranked monster but facing two would require loads of good equipment.

He needed to have a decent amount of rare equipment before he would challenge the third quest.

For now, he wanted to complete the first challenge.

He clicked on the mission and it asked him to accept it.

[Would you like to accept this mission. Your experience bar will be locked when killing the mobs]

Emile accepted it.

He told William about this.

William wished him luck. Emile walked to Stella and asked to teleport him to the mission location.

"Actually the mission location is a simulation. We send you to a simulation since where can you find 500 goblins in one place. It's unlikely unless an invasion is occurring." Stella said.

"Give me a sec." She continued.

"All done. Good luck with the challenge." She pressed a few buttons on her computer before waving Emile away. Emile teleported to a grassland. He appeared on top of a hill.

The system started the timer.

Emile could see an enormous amount of goblins in front of him. He didn't know if he could complete this challenge.

He regretted his decision after seeing the huge amount of goblins. Since there was no penalty he chose to try it out.

Emile ran down the hill while casting fireball. His fireballs could create an explosion which damaged a few of the mobs.

He continued summoning fireballs while running down the hill.

Emile identified the goblins when he got into range.

Goblin

Normal Monster

HP: 432/432

Atk: 60-72

MAtk: 32-45

Agility: 37

An average monster

Weakness: Fire

Emile got lucky when he saw that their weakness was fire. This would make them take more damage from his fireball.

Emile's first few fireball's had killed eight goblins. Emile used another AOE spell.

He used {Waterfall} which he got from the Fishman boss. That boss had dropped a helmet that had the waterfall skill.

Emile also had torrent which made all of his water attacks deal 25% more damage. He had two pieces of equipment that had the torrent skill.

The torrent skill didn't stack meaning that he only had a 25% increase, not 50%.

This waterfall had a range of 15 meters meaning that it would be able to kill a lot of the goblins.

Emile cast this spell in the middle of the goblin pack. This caused many of the goblins to take lots of damage.

Emile used his swords to kill the goblins that were closer to him. He could kill them in 2 hits. Each kill took about two seconds of his time.

The Waterfall skill finished which showed a giant hole in the horde of goblins. They were some spare goblins at the edge of the circle.

Emile had eliminated over 70 goblins with that spell. This was the best-case scenario for Emile since the goblins were packed together so they couldn't escape out of the way.

The goblins took continuous damage from the skill and died with regrets.

Their fellow goblin brethren couldn't do anything about it since they weren't intelligent enough. If they had more intelligence, then they would have spread out. They wouldn't have died so easily if this wasn't the case.

Emile continued attacking them. He had to retreat every few kills since the goblins would rush up to him together. If he stayed in place, then they couldn't kill him in less than 3 seconds.

At some point, Emile climbed the hill he went down. The system gave a counter on how many goblins he killed.

It showed that he killed 178 which was less than half. He used 30 minutes to get to this amount. Emile didn't know if he could kill all the goblins.

He killed about 70 of them with his skill. This meant that he killed 100 goblins in 30 minutes.

Since he only had 2 hours, he had to increase his killing speed. By the end of the challenge, he would have killed 470 goblins before his time runs out. He needed to take more risks when attacking the mobs to have a chance.

Emile felt a tinge of despair.
