86 Becoming a Noble

No one had purchased the Space Gem that he put on the market. Emile thought about lowering the price of the item.

Emile lowered the price down to 600 silver coins which were still expensive. He checked his stats.

Gaining the class should have increased his stats.

Strength, Agility, and Vitality went up by 35. The class added from points into those three stats. Intelligence and Spirit went up by 75.

These were large numbers.

How would it compare to other classes? Emile wondered.

The class had to be better than others since the game considered it to be legendary.

The class would be a joke if it didn't raise the stats by huge amounts.

Luck went up by 2.

Emile could gain the bonus for reaching 100 on the stats. The game didn't give him a notification for this since he experienced the bonus effect twice.

Agility was his lowest stat. It was above 100 meaning that he could get a bonus.

Emile chose to increase his attack speed. Agility had an effect on how fast he attacked. He chose the bonus that would increase his attack speed by 5%.

He could deal damage at faster intervals due to this effect.

Emile's intelligence stat more than doubled due to the class. He gained another bonus from the stat.

Emile chose to increase his mana regeneration. Normally, all players have their mana regen at 100 per hour. Using any skill costs mana.

Emile gave his party the mana regen potions since they ran out of mana multiple times during the process. If he didn't have the potions, he would have to wait till the next day since the mana would take a lot of time to reach the max values.

Emile's mana regeneration was now 150 mana per hour. He would require a lot of mana since he had many skills in his arsenal.

He received five new skills from his class. These skills would all require mana, so having faster mana regeneration would help him save mana potions in the long run.

It would take time for Emile to get familiar with these new skills. He wanted to test out his skills, but he couldn't since he was sitting in the lounge of the mayor's tower.

Emile suspected that he would get kicked out of the tower if he decided to use a skill. He waited without a worry.

Lily went back to reading her books in the library of the palace.

His other party members were grinding in the swamp.

An hour passed...

Emile scoured the markets for information. There was a website which had an enormous amount of information for the public to view.

During this time, Emile searched for books related to ancient gears.

Blue Nitro City was known to be a graveyard for golems. These golems might have the ancient gears.

Emile would visit this city after he received his rewards. He wanted to see what the golem graveyard has to offer.

The elevator doors opened and the mayor walked out.

"Let's go," the mayor spoke to Emile as he walked past him.

Emile said nothing and followed the mayor. The mayor led him to his home.

"I brought you here since my son wanted to thank you," the mayor said as they approached a wooden door. This door led to the room where his son was laying sick a few days ago.

The mayor knocked on the door.

"Come in," A deep voice said.

The mayor opened the door.

"Are you the person who saved me," the man asked. He was sitting on the floor meditating.

The man was shirtless. His abs popped out and were visible.

"Sorry for being shirtless," the man said as he grabbed a worn-out shirt and put it on.

"I didn't save you. All I did was find the item to help you. The doctors were the ones that saved you," Emile said.

"Thank you," the man said.

"Please accept me as your knight," the man walked forward and kneeled in front of Emile.

The first question that the man asked was to see Emile's personality.

"Uhh... I don't know what a knight is," Emile said while scratching his head.

"A knight is someone who will journey with you, protect you when needed, and do any tasks," the man said.

"Why do you want to be my knight," Emile asked.

"The only person worthy of my respect is someone who has saved my life. No one else deserves my respect," the man said.

"Uh... All right that leads me to your reward. I've filled out the papers and now you're a noble," the mayor said.

"As a noble, you get a few perks throughout the city and you get to have two knights who will always follow your orders," the mayor said.

[Ding... the mayor has assigned you the title: Noble]

Noble

A promotion. And now you're a noble with great fame.

Fame +2500

You may recruit two knights into your services.

[Severn wishes to be your knight. Do you wish to accept his offer?]

Emile didn't have a reason to say no, so he accepted the offer.

[Every month you must pay one gold coin as a salary for working]

The game allowed Emile to view Severn's stats.

Severn (Weakened)

Level: 1

Class: Warrior

HP: 250/250

Strength: 40

Agility: 25

Vitality: 25

Intelligence: 1

Spirit: 1

Luck: Undeterminable

Atk: 52-73

MAtk: 1-3

Potential: Unknown

Severn had high stats for being level 1. Severn had a weakened debuff, so Emile didn't know what his stats would be when he was in a healthy condition.

"Why are you weakened," Emile asked.

"Ever since I was young I had a weak body. I couldn't level up. I've been trying to grow stronger without the level up feature, but it's challenging," Severn said. He didn't want to reveal this to Emile.

This was a surprise for Emile. He didn't think the inhabitants of this world knew about levels. he didn't worry about his other problem.

"Why do you know about levels?" Emile asked.

"Everyone knows about leveling, but few people increase their levels. Most people are lazy and they're terrified of death, so they don't go leveling." Severn said.

"Then, why do you want to become stronger," Emile asked.

"Is that even a question? If I grow stronger, I might be able to remove the damage from my body and I can protect the people close to me," Severn said.

The mayor smiled.

"You're almost the same as me. I like to fight and challenge stronger opponents. That's why I want to grow stronger. Also If I rest, an increasing amount of people will surpass me," Emile said.

If he rested other players would grow stronger through their skill systems. He would be left in the dust if he couldn't grow stronger.
