37 Arena Fighting

He noticed that there were many people and dwarves. There weren't any players here. Blacksmiths run rampant in this camp.

Every few stores would be a blacksmith. They would create tools and armor. Emile didn't know where Igneus was at.

He asked one person.

"Igneus? If you keep walking in that direction you'll notice lots of blacksmiths. After the fourth blacksmith, there should be an alleyway on the left. The third door in that alleyway is Igneus' home."

The man said as he pointed at a direction. (1)

Emile walked in the direction that the man stated.

"One, two, three and four, There should be an alleyway somewhere up ahead. Ah, there it is. One, two and three. This should be his door." Emile counted his way to not make any mistakes. He knocked on the door.

Nothing happened.

Emile knocked again.

Nothing happened.

Emile wanted to knock again before the door blew open. A short skinny looking dwarf appeared. The height of the dwarf was up to Emile's waist.

"What do you want," The dwarf said with irritation.

Emile put his hand down.

"Sorry for disturbing you. Are you Igneus?" Emile asked.

"You knock on my door without even knowing who I am. How annoying. Yeah, I'm Igneus." The dwarf said.

"I have a letter for you," Emile said.

Emile took out the letter from his inventory and handed it to Igneus.

Igneus opened and read the letter. There was one gold coin in the envelope. The highest amount of money he had ever seen.

"He wants a sword, how interesting. Your Village Chief wants a high-quality sword. I want you to find me the materials for his sword. Don't worry I'll give you something as well." Igneus said.

[Quest: Seeking for Materials]

[Objective: 30 pieces of Mythril, 15 Pieces of Alligator Scales, and 1 gram of meteorite dust]

[Difficulty: A]

[Comment: Getting Mythril and Alligator Scales will be easy; Meteorite Dust will be hard]

[Progress: No materials]

[Shareable]

[Reward: Blade of Corruption]

[Time Limit: 1 month]

[Penalty: Hated by Song Village and Igneus; lose 1 level]

The quest didn't seem to be a challenge. He didn't know what the blade would be like. It had to be a good weapon since it's the reward of an A rank difficulty quest.

The penalties were insane. He would lose a level and he would face hate.

He accepted the quest.

"You can find Mythril in the mine. Though it's rare. The other things you can ask around; you might get lucky with someone knowing where they're located." He said. He shut the door after saying this.

Emile listened to his advice and went towards the mine. He watched people walk in and out of the mine.

"Hey, how much does one piece of a Mythril cost?" Emile pulled someone over and asked them a question.

"Mythril? They cost between 30 silver coins to 60 silver coins." The man said before moving on.

Emile nearly collapsed after hearing the price. The system considered Mythril easy. He wondered how hard it would be to find meteorite dust.

"Looks like I need to earn money." Emile thought.

If Emile wanted to buy 30 pieces of Mythril he would need at least 900 silver coins. If he bought them at full price, he would require 1 gold coin and 800 silver coins.

"Hey Lily, do you know any fast ways to earn money?" Emile messaged Lily for support since she played the most video games.

"Money... I haven't heard of any exploits in Nirvana. Oh, you could take part in the arena. You can bet on people and if they win, you earn money. You can also take part since you

can get fame and money from battling in the arena." Lily said.

"There's an arena option in your menu. You can teleport there by using that." Lily said.

"Thanks," Emile said before teleporting to the arena.

The arena had a fair share of players. These players fit into two categories. The audience and the participants. The audience members can bet on participants. If the participant wins, then the audience who bet on them also win money. Those who bet on the other party loses their money.

If you had sharp eyes, then you could win lots of money. This place was a favorite for gamblers. They either struck it rich or lose all their money.

Emile didn't want to put his money on other people so he was a participant. He asked around and found out that where players signed up.

Emile used Mystical Flame as his arena name. He also signed up for a match.

After 15 minutes of waiting, they told him to enter the stage.

As he walked into the dark corridor, he could see light in the distance. They told him to continue walking towards the light.

Emile walked out, the light made him squint. He heard shouts and screaming coming from the outside.

He looked around.

People were standing around, sitting, talking and doing many actions as they watched the center stage. They were loud and deafening.

Emile wasn't used to this level of attention. He felt nervous.

Emile took a deep breath before regaining his composure.

"On this corner, we have another newcomer who has joined us. Give it up for Mystical Flaaaameeee."

The man shouted out.

Roaring and cheers erupted.

"Two newcomers are fighting. Let's see their skills." The man said.

"You may begin your fight in 3...2....1.... go," The man shouted after introducing them.

Emile realized that the distance between him and the player was far enough for him to cast fireball a few times.

Emile cast fireball at the player. He shot three of them back to back. The player succumbed and died.

"Wow, that was a fast battle. Looks like we have a mage in our arena. Give a round of applause for Mystical Flame." The man shouted.

Emile breezed through the first few fights.

He bet all of his coins each time.

He got over 145 silver coins from about 7 fights. Emile has over 180 silver coins.

The opponents were getting more powerful. He had a harder time fighting some people who could dodge some of his fireballs.

Emile also tested out his water sphere skill. He got 20 water skill points from trying out the skill.

Chanting the spell was much easier since he had experience with chanting things. He failed once but got it correct on the second try.

The proficiency of Water Sphere increased to 60% from two battles. His fireball proficiency hung around high 70's and low 80's. He never got higher than an 84%.

Emile could stay in the arena and have consecutive battles. He was doing this since he didn't want to waste time by waiting and resting.

He was on his tenth consecutive battle. The crowd cheered for him.

He killed everyone, and he had a high amount of flashy skills.

During one battle, Emile thought to use both fireball and water sphere together. He would shoot one after the other. It created a double helix where the skills rotated between each other.

He did this by slowing down the speed of the first skill by a small amount. He would then speed up his second skill to catch up to the first skill. When they were next to each other, he would make them maintain an equal speed.

When they landed on the opponent, they did much more damage than a single fireball and water sphere. They suited each other well.

This created a new skill.

[You have created a new skill]

[What would you like to name it?]

Emile didn't know what to name the spell. He thought about the name. (2)
