142 Another King Ranked Monster

"There's one creature that is lying at the bottom. I can't identify the creature. I'm sure that it's related to the Winter Deer," Nimble Rod said as he gazed into the open room. The creature had the body of a deer, except that it had a small crown on its head. It was a unique type of deer.

The party members didn't say anything to his discovery. They were busy conversing with the lady.

"All right, it was nice to talk to you," Emile said. He waited for her to talk for a while until he ended the conversation.

They walked away. The lady was beaming since she had someone to talk to about alchemy. She wouldn't notice the missing key until a while later. For now, she stood there and created a potion out of the blue as a sign of happiness.

Emile and the party walked to the stairs. If they rushed, they would stand out from the crowd.

They soon arrived at the stairs and reached the bottom.

Emile saw Nimble Rod who sat on the bottom step and waited for them to arrive.

"Sorry for being late," Emile said. He didn't want to rush which caused him to take his time and walk to him.

"It's all right. Go identify the deer," Nimble Rod said. He wanted to know the stats of the deer.

Winter Deer: Princess (weakened by the curse)

King ranked monster

Atk: 434-487

MAtk: 490-513

Agility: 83

Skills: {Winter Domain} {Freeze Spell} {Step of Ice} {Ice Beam} {Ultimate: Ice Laser}

Weakness: Fire

It was the second king ranked monster that Emile encountered. It was a new sight for some party members.

Emile shared the stats with the party. The deer seemed to be resting on the floor. Its health was below 50% which showed that the curse was affecting its longevity. They wouldn't have to face some of the skills.

"I think it's best to go around," Emile said. If he could avoid this fight, he would. Deep inside, he wanted to charge forward and begin attacking the creature, but he didn't want his party to be caught up in his whimsical dreams.

"I don't think it will work," Nimble Rod replied.

"We won't know if we don't try," Emile said. It's best to try than not to try.

Emile tried walking around the side of the room to see if he could make it to the staircase. And he did. He climbed down the steps once more to see a gate blocking the path forward.

[Kill the Winter Deer: Princess to advance]

Emile walked back to the party and told them the information.

"Let's start the fight," Emile said as he cracked his knuckles. Every time a fight started he would feel the adrenaline kick in as he prepared himself to go all out.

"Are you ready to cast your spells?" Emile asked.

The party replied by nodding. He launched a BFB bolt at the boss. The other's cast their own skills. Emile moved to the front of the party to tank the hits.

The deer woke up and stared at the party. It grew mad and charged at the closest member which happened to Emile. Emile was familiar with the getting hit by the boss. He took some damage from the ram.

The deer began casting ice balls at the party. It shot them at Flower Queen who created a wall in front of her.

Flower Queen's vision was obscured by the walls. The deer shot its ice balls at another party member ignoring the wall that she placed. It had some intelligence. She didn't know that she could take down her mud wall. If the enemy continued attacking the wall it would have collapsed in a few seconds. It took a few seconds for her to realize that she was wasting time.

The other party members either dodged the attack or took it head on. Emile took the aggro of the boss so that it would only target him.

It didn't take long for the bosses aggro to follow Emile. Emile dodged the attacks and cast his different skills.

Emile practiced another element from his class. He didn't want to get overwhelmed, so he got familiar with the lightning spell first before moving onto another element.

Emile gave his next element some thought into it before deciding. He didn't need time since it was mostly useless for him. It could only shoot time balls and lower cooldowns. The Time Element grew stronger at higher levels. Emile knew nothing about space other than the ability to teleport. He didn't want to learn something new. He learned an element which he had some knowledge of.

At the end of his thinking process, he chose the Earth Element. It was the element which he noticed was the most versatile. It might not have high attack values or speed values, instead, it had an equal amount of everything which had its own benefits. Emile wanted to create walls like Flower Queen. It was the main reason for selecting this element.

He shot a few mud balls at the opponent which decreased its speed. This was the first battle he used these set of skills on. Not a wise choice since it was a boss and he shouldn't treat bosses as a training tool.

Emile understood this and continued using the earth element. He would improve the most whilst in dangerous and unfamiliar positions.

Emile didn't cast mud ball by itself. He also launched his other spells into the mix. Casting only one spell wouldn't be efficient.

Emile quickly noticed a glaring problem. His mana was decreasing at alarming rates. He would run out of mana soon. He couldn't maintain a cycle of spells.

Emile would have to practice the Earth element on a later date with better knowledge on his mana usage. He removed the mud ball from his cycle of spells.

The bosses health dropped 20% where it used the skill {ice beam}. It didn't take long for the boss to drop this low since it was weaker due to the curse.

The ice beam was what the name suggested. A beam of ice launched from the mouth. It moved in a singular straight line.

The walls couldn't stop the ice beam since it was too powerful. It could only hold the ice for a fourth of a second.

The party ducked underneath the beam to avoid it. Emile did the same. He didn't want to be flashy by jumping over it. Though if he wanted to, he could.

The deer's mouth moved down aiming the beam at a lower altitude. They jumped over the beam this time. It felt like a game, a very dangerous game that could cause death if the skill hit.

The ice beam ended, and the boss continued launching its normal spells. The party had a challenging time when they had to evade the attack; it grew easier for them when Emile took over the aggro once more.

The boss grew closer to death. It reached 1% of its health left when it used its final skill.

The boss cast {Ultimate: Ice Laser}. The boss was invincible during the two second casting time. It summoned ice walls around it to protect itself during the final few moments of the activation. Flower Queen summoned some walls as preparation, but it wouldn't be enough.

It launched a giant laser from its mouth at the party. A duck couldn't allow them to dodge the skill anymore. Emile cast the {Light Domain} which would heal 50 health per second and lasted for one minute. He did this for extra protection.

He did this so that the party would continuously heal when the boss used its skill. The laser was unavoidable.

They could stop it for a short time by using a mud wall. The wall would disappear before their eyes could recognize it appearing. The laser would hit them dealing 100 damage per second. They took 50 damage per second from the skill since he was healing the party with {Light Domain}.

Emile tried to cast a spell but failed since the laser beam hit him.

Emile went for the close-range kill. Attacking from a far distance wouldn't kill the boss since it targeted the players who were casting causing their skill to fail.

He slowly walked forward at the pace of a snail losing increasingly more health from the attack. The laser couldn't allow him to move fast since it would push him back. The deer focused on Emile since he was the only one moving closer.

The cold frigid beam covered his vision. Other than having fire infusion skill active on his sword, he couldn't do anything else.

Emile walked forward meter by meter. Feet by feet. Inch by Inch.

When he reached a certain distance, he sensed the presence of the deer nearby. He had a gut feeling that he could end the life of the creature with one skill. He activated {Shadow-Moon Strike} which did 500% damage to the opponent.

What Emile didn't know was that Scarlet Sunset launched a skill at the boss while Emile was taking the brunt of the skill. Her extra damage combined with Emile's final strike allowed for a perfect scenario to play out.

The laser that blocked his vision disappeared, as the boss toppled over.
