68 All the Stops

Emile continued walking and saw the path. He didn't know which way the city was at. The worst-case scenario was him going in the wrong direction and not finding a city. The best-case scenario was going in the correct direction.

Emile could go to the left or to the right. He went to the right. He continued walking in the direction.

In the distance, Emile could see the glimpse of a sign. Emile walked up in its direction and read it.

The game had a universal language which all players could speak and read in. They created this to allow everyone to communicate with each other. The developers also wanted the player to have a harmonious time with other players of different nationalities.

The next player a person interacts with could live on the other side of the world. Due to this racism occurs more often. The developers put measures to help people who experience any types of ism.

If someone feels that someone else is being racist or any other types of isms, then they could report the player. The system will analyze the player and state the actions of the player.

A human will analyze this data and decided whether the person was racist. The human who analyzes the data won't know who the players involved are since this could create bias. They will receive the actions of the player or a blurry video of these actions.

1 hour 15 minutes walk to Sunrise City --->

<--- 2-hour walk to Well Spring City

This was what the sign had written.

Emile discovered that he was heading in the right direction. He felt relieved and moved on. He ran once more. Running allowed him to reach the destination faster and gave him a good exercise.

Emile arrived in Sunrise City after 24 minutes. There were guards in the city gate. Emile had seen these guards when he left Sunrise City. They had said nothing to stop him.

This time they stopped him to inspect him. Emile understood that they checked for red name players. Emile had gotten rid of his red name by doing nothing and hunting the alligators.

He didn't have to worry about being stopped by the guards. They allowed him to pass through without a problem. Emile ran to the teleporter. He didn't want to waste too much time.

There was a life at stake so he couldn't afford to be too casual. He already wasted time by walking part of his journey. The only reason he had walked was that he didn't know which way was the correct way.

After spotting the sign, he became sure of himself about the correct direction. Emile arrived at the teleporter and teleported to White Star City. He used the 10 silver coins he got from the mayor to teleport away.

Emile arrived at the White Star City's teleporter and walked to the tallest tower. The mayor worked in this tower.

He entered and saw the same man sitting at his desk typing away.

"Can I go see the mayor," Emile asked him.

"Sure," the man said after looking at him. If Emile hadn't gone out to help the mayor, he wouldn't be able to see the mayor. This was a perk he got from helping the mayor.

Emile gave thanks before entering the elevator.

"He's on the top floor." The person sitting at the reception desk yelled out to Emile.

Emile pressed the button for the top floor. He waited.

Emile arrived at the top floor. He looked in front of him. He saw that there was a desk with stacks of papers. The mayor sat at his desk and wrote on the papers. He wore glasses worked with diligence.

He was working while his son was on death's door. In the views of the others, he was a bad father. If he took care of his son, then many people would have a harder time. People would lose faith in his abilities.

The man didn't look up even when the elevator made the ding sound. He was working continuously like a robot.

Emile didn't wait for the mayor. He knew he wouldn't be yelled at for disturbing his work.

"Mr. Mayor I have news to report. It involves your son's life," Emile said.

The mayor jolted up and saw Emile.

"Did you get the clear potion?" The mayor said with excitement. He felt livelier than he before.

"No. They don't have all the ingredients to create the potion. They need to get an item called Silver Roots. It's the only item missing from their stock." Emile said.

The lively atmosphere that the mayor felt had disappeared. His face became calm without a sign of worry. He had no expression.

"I have many enemies. If they discover that I need a certain item, then they could block the item from reaching my hands. We also need the item within a time limit. They don't have to block the item from reaching me, they could just stall out the time limit." The mayor said.

"If I put up an anonymous request, then it's the same thing as you giving the request." the mayor said.

"I'll still try. Hopefully, those people don't stall the item from reaching my hands." The mayor continued with a fire in his eyes. He wanted to try. If he never tried then he would regret this decision for the rest of his life.

"That will increase the chances of gaining the item since you have a high reputation. Maybe a high figure could donate the item to you to gain karma with you." Emile said. He had thought the mayor would have rejected the proposal, but he agreed.

"All right, I'll send out a mission on the Adventure Guild with my name. They'll give me front page since my reputation is good." The mayor said. He wanted to pull out all the stops.

"I need you to pass out flyers with the quest in case people aren't from the adventure guild. This will ensure the number of people who will see the request." The mayor continued.

"I'm pretty sure that that's all we could do," Emile said. The only other method he could think of was to create a forum for it on the Nirvana forums, but in an hour or two, the craze for abilities will occur so he wouldn't get any results unless he offered over 100 silver coins.

Emile had given the adventure guild 355 silver coins. 350 for the rewards and 5 for the commission taxes. The guild took an extra amount of coins for hosting the quest.

Emile didn't have the money to offer a decent reward for another quest. The players would figure out the true price of the Silver Roots when they entered the city.

As Emile went down this thought process he realized that the players didn't know the true price of the Silver Roots. He could use this to purchase the Silver Roots for much less than the actual price.

"Wait. I can ask other types of people to find the Roots." Emile said to the mayor.

Emile entered the forums. The forums could now be accessed while playing the game. He used the anonymous account when posting about the Silver Roots.

Buying Silver Roots

I'm buying Silver Roots for 100 silver coins. You can purchase the skill system if you can find the Silver Roots. It's a small bud with 4 silver roots. DM me if you have the roots.

Emile posted this on the forums.

"Now, we've done everything we could," Emile said. They went through all the stops.
