159 Absolute Zero

Emile stared into the man's mask after the man opened the door. He realized that talking to the man wouldn't work.

The man shot Ice Spikes towards the trapped Emile between the other spikes that shot up from the ground. he had his attack fixated on Emile. he wouldn't give any time for negotiations.

Emile was in a predicament. He needed to avoid these attacks with limited mobility.

Emile summoned multiple fireballs towards the ice spikes. His quick thinking caused the Ice Spikes that flew to melt before they could hit him.

Emile charged through the ice door. He didn't want to remain in an encapsulated space.

They were now inside the man's home. Emile was at a disadvantage since he was in an unfamiliar territory. Emile didn't know how many tricks the man could pull off whilst in his house.

The man summoned more ice spikes around him and launched them at Emile. He didn't give Emile the chance to talk. Emile used his skills on the man.

The first skill that came to mind is the {Body Copy} skill since he could copy the person and use them to stop certain ice attacks. Some attacks would be unavoidable since he was standing on ice. And the man knew how to wield ice.

Emile prepared for those attacks by having someone who could also cast ice. After that skill, he continued using his elemental attacks. Emile realized that the fireball would be the most useful since it could melt the attacks.

The man continued attacking him with ice spikes. Sometimes he would create ice walls in his surroundings to block some of Emile's attacks and to block his clone.

The clone was the man's priority since it could stop his sneaky ice attacks on Emile. Emile continued dealing damage and aiming his sword at the man's face.

Each time the man noticed the attack coming for his face, the man would summon an ice wall in front of his face to block the strike from Emile. The wall worked each time as Emile could not hit the man's face. Emile thought about the best method of hitting the man's face.

Emile used the body clone to create ice walls around the man to obscure his vision. The clone couldn't use many skills, but creating an ice wall was a necessity for any ice caster.

Emile wanted to stall for time. He needed time to think about his options. The ice wall didn't save him much time since the man removed the ice in a few moments.

The man continued attacking Emile. Emile couldn't think of a tactic to attack the man's mask, so he used brute force. With enough power, he could overcome anything. He activated {Berserk} to increase his attack up to enormous levels.

He charged forth and barraged the man with fast attacks. Other than his mind feeling tired from the enlightenment, he felt like he could attack the man for hours.

The man tried blocking his attacks with his ice walls, but the passive skill {Fire Infusion} which created a layer of fire around his sword caused the walls to melt.

If he wasn't attacking at high intensities, then destroying the walls would take a longer amount of time.

The man couldn't create these walls while attacking Emile. He had to focus on one task. The man stalled Emile. He would continue summoning walls in front of his face while Emile attacked and broke the barriers set by him.

It was a solid way of wearing out Emile, but the man forgot one other person at the scene. Himself. Well, his clone to be precise.

The clone struck him from the back dealing damage and wasting the man's time and leaving him stunned for a short moment. Emile took advantage of the man reacting to the attack to strike his face. The man didn't have a measure of protecting his face, which allowed Emile to get the one hit he needed.

The man's mask broke into two revealing his handsome face. He had blue eyes with a pale white face.

"Oh, thanks," the man said as he looked around. He was in a familiar territory, so he wasn't too anxious about his surroundings.

"Uhh, no problem," Emile said. The man's clone's stood around with the same purple mask that the man wore. It didn't have any mind controlling features. It was only for aesthetics.

"The name's Absolute Zero, how did you find out about me?" Absolute Zero said.

"One of your friends told me about you and how you're a part of the Dark Ones," Emile said.

"Oh. Did they lose to you as well?" Absolute Zero asked.

"Yeah. I'm here to find out about the Dark Ones and their base," Emile said.

"I know where their base is. Going there won't be hard, but escaping and stopping them is the real challenge," Absolute Zero said.

"I'll figure out that part when I get there. If you have any Intel about the number of people they have or how to get to them, then that would be nice," Emile said. Having information could and would determine whether someone will lose or win.

"The Dark Ones are near White Star City. They are next to the city which has the most protection so that they can lower the value of their economy. They know taking down the city would take the longest, so they used the method that would also take the longest. It was the most efficient method alarming no one. Also, they have around 60 people inside their base," Absolute Zero said.

"Give specific directions to their base," Emile said.

"Walk out of the north entrance and enter the forest that's outside. If you walk towards 122 degrees on the compass, you'll find a rift in space. The rift is obvious when you're close to it. But looking at it from far away reveals nothing. Enter the rift to enter their base. Inside the base are guards who wear the purple masks. You must bypass them to head deeper. I know little about the inside since I'm only a normal member of the Dark Ones," Absolute Zero said.

What's the highest level inside the base?" Emile asked after comprehending the man's words.

"The highest level is 20. If they were at a higher level, then they could use brute force to destroy the weak cities. Instead, they have to use schemes and mobs to destroy them," Absolute Zero said.

"I want as much information as I can get. So tell me any more information if you have any," Emile asked.

"Sorry man. I have nothing else. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see them get destroyed, but I have nothing else to share with you," the man said as he noticed Emile glare into his eyes.

Emile learned the eye glare technique from Scarlet Sunset who used it to pressure people. She taught him how to do the glare.

"All right. I will send you to the jail with your buddy. If you have any intention of escaping, do it now, so I can forcefully bring you back. If you have no complaints, we can go on a small journey," Emile said. The man had no obvious crimes to his name, but if they dug deeper into his identity, they would find dirt on the man.

"I'm glad I can be with someone. Who am I with?" Absolute Zero said with a sigh. He was looking optimistically at the scenario.

"You're with someone who goes by Jirai or something along those lines," Emile tried pronouncing the man's name and gave up.

"I don't hate him. All right, we should get a move on," Absolute Zero said as he breathed out a breath of relief. He would be fine as long he was with people he didn't hate.
