103 A Quest About Creating a Quest

"When I was younger, my father brought me to many places to cure my weak body. High ranking doctors, alchemists, and even blacksmiths tried to help me," Severn said.

Emile nodded to show he was listening.

"As you know, nothing worked. My dad was becoming desperate, so he looked for a fortune teller to predict my future," Severn said.

Emile nodded.

"We went to an extremely famous figure. She's popular for her ability to predict the future. We paid her 100 gold coins to get a prediction." Severn said.

Emile nodded. Prophecies weren't something he liked to believe in since he didn't want a guess to decide his future.

"The prophecy stated that 'One day you will fall sick, death will come soon after this sickness. An adventurer with the strength of many elements can save your life. Follow this adventurer in their quests and adventures to remove your weak body.' This was what the lady told me." Severn said.

"How did you know I had many elements?" Emile asked. He didn't tell them about having multiple elements under his control.

"Visual cues and intuition. When I first saw you, I was observing your movements and a few other cues to check if you used elements. The fire and water element were prominent when I first looked at you." Severn said.

Severn paused before continuing, "Also, I could tell that your body was adapting to a few new elements. I felt space vibrate around you whenever you walked. I became your knight and followed you after I saw space vibrate since you had at least three elements at your disposal," Severn said.

"There are cues for the different mages?" Emile asked with fascination. If he could know what element an opponent used, then he could plan out attacks and figure out methods of evading their attacks.

"There are but if you're skilled enough, you can hide these cues or show the cues for another element. I studied to become a mage, so I learned about the cues that all the mages had. This was a weakness of a beginner mage. I'm not a mage since I failed the examinations," Severn said with a laugh. He didn't care about being a mage.

If it was a weakness, then he could spot it with Pinpoint. Unless, he didn't know how to spot these weaknesses, so Pinpoint could never give him an answer. These were Emile's thought after listening to Severn.

"You should teach me how to spot these cues," Emiel said with enthusiasm. He wanted to know how he could accomplish this.

Severn felt creeped out by the enthusiasm.

"Uh... sure," Severn said.

"Well, now you know why I'm following you," Severn said, "I hope you don't push me away."

"Why would I push you away? Having another companion is always fun since we could share our burdens," Emile said. He would learn about the cues whenever they went questing again.

"Hmm... all right. I'll take that explanation," Severn said.

"Do you have anything for me to do," Severn asked. He didn't want to continue browsing the market.

"Check the missions on the adventure guild and see if there are any interesting quests. I don't have any adventure planned, so you'll have to wait," Emile said.

"All right," Severn said.

After this exchange, Emile wanted to return to Igneus and submit his completed quest. Emile had picked up the Crystals with the gold coins, but it was overshadowed by the other items. Those items were more important for the time being. (1)

Emile used a space gem after watching Severn look through the different mission that the Adventure guild had to provide.

He walked to Igneus's home. Emile handed him the crystals that were dropped from the Phoenix.

"Thanks for the crystals," Igneus said with a laugh.

"If you want to purify the sword you need to put blessings onto the sword and cleanse the sword with a Cleansing potion," Igneus said as he threw the crystals in the air and caught them again.

[Quest: Sword Purification]

[Objective: Gain the Cleansing Blessing and the Cleansing Potion]

[Difficulty: B]

[Comment: Requires the art of the conversation; talk to people in simple terms]

[Progress: 0/1 Cleansing Blessing, 0/1 Cleansing Potion]

[Time Limit: Indefinite]

[Penalty: No penalty]

[Reward: Light-Shadow Sword, Level +1]

The rewards gave a free level up. This must be the final reward of this chain of quests.

"Cleansing potion is created by alchemists, so how do I get a blessing?" Emile asked.

"Priests give blessings," Igneus said. He closed the door on his face.

Emile had a look of speechlessness as he watched Igneus close the door.

Emile activated a space gem to head back to the city. He thought of the information that Igneus told him. Priests should have a guild association somewhere in the city. That's where players could get the priest class.

Emile's party needed a priest in their group. Their party had lots of damage dealers but no healers. Health potions healed them a decent amount of health, but they cost a lot of coins.

After teleporting to the city, he got an interesting message.

"Hey, I need your help," Stella from the Adventure Guild messaged Emile. This message surprised Emile since he hadn't given here his contact information.

"How did you get my contact information and also what do you need help with," Emile asked.

Emile would give a hand to them since he didn't have many serious matters on his hand. He wanted to complete the new quest, but that could wait since it had an indefinite timer.

"Don't worry about how I got your contact information. This will be a weird request, but you're strong enough to complete it, so I'm asking you to help us out. I want your help to set up a quest," Stella said.

"Set up a quest? What?" Emile asked with confusion on his face.

"Let me explain, we don't have many challenging quests with great rewards for the veteran adventurers since we are in a peaceful time period. They're becoming lazy and complaining about it. Sooner or later, they'll leave this guild and enter another Adventure Guild to find quests with good rewards," Stella said in a serious tone.

"So... what do you have planned for me?" Emile asked. He understood the seriousness of the quest.

If the strong people leave, then the city becomes weaker. If it becomes weaker, then another city could defeat its warriors and prove that their city's warriors are the strongest. White Star city's reputation would drop and they wouldn't be as strong as before. Though this was the worst-case scenario.

"I need you to lure a Great Chief ranked monster and bring it to Senture Forest. The adventurers will challenge this quest to fight the Great Chief boss and gain rewards. You can lure any Great Chief you want," Stella said.

"Your rewards will be better than what a Great Chief ranked monster can give," Stella said with a laugh.

"Wait... so you're telling that some quests are fake and orchestrated by the Adventure Guild?" Emile said.

"Well, yeah. Though this a secret only to high-ranking members. The regular members will never know about this. The guild leader allowed me to tell you this since she trusts you," Stella said.

"All right, I'll lure a monster to Senture Forest," Emile said. He didn't want to continue his questioning since he wouldn't get anything out of it.

[Quest: Creating a Quest]

[Objective: Lure a Great Chief ranked monster to Senture Forest]

[Difficulty: B]

[Comment: I hope this teaches you that not everything is straightforward. There are many secrets to ordinary everyday life. Someone might orchestrate the next quest you do... how am I supposed to know, I'm only an AI]

[Progress: Not Lured]

[Time Limit: 48 hours]

[Penalty: Veterans will leave the guild and the people will discover that the Adventure Guild gives out fake quests]

[Reward: {Berserk} Skill book, 30,000 experience]

"Thanks for your help. You should set the quest up quickly since I need to post the quest soon," Stella said before ending the conversation.
