3 CHAPTER 3: Karisu Gakkou

Even with a map, Roy is lost. Luckily, Roy's homeroom teacher ran into him with Alvin beside him.

"Wait you're from 4th year; Class A as well?!", Alvin asked with such shock.

"Yes.", Roy answered in a cool and calm manner.

"Well, fortunately, that's where I'm supposed to be. So let's go boys.", the homeroom teacher said.

And so, they start heading through their class. Their homeroom teacher's hair and eyes are both the color of Dantrine, wearing glasses as well. As they are walking, the homeroom teacher starts a conversation.

"So, I haven't seen your faces around here. Are you both new?", the homeroom teacher asked.

"Yes, sir.", Alvin answered.

"Mhm.", Roy responded.

"I was told I only have 2 new students in my class. Are you both Johnson Alvin and Abellona Roy?", the homeroom teacher asked again.

"You got that right, sir. I'm Alvin.", Alvin answered again.

"Roy.", Roy responded blandly.

"I'm Date Akihiko. You can call me Mr. Date.", Mr. Date introduced himself.

NOTE: It's pronounced "DA-TE" not the word "date".

Both Roy and Alvin nods at Mr.Date's introduction.

"Well if you have any trouble with my students, you can go and talk to me. Preferably when I'm not busy. Unless you're the problem.", Mr. Date added.

"Hehehe. I'll keep that in mind, sir.", Alvin replied happily.

"....", Roy didn't say anything.

Mr. Date takes notice of this but decides to ignore this for now. They're approaching their classroom.

"Stay here.", Mr. Date said.

Their teacher tells them to stay there outside of the class unless they're now told to come in. Both Roy and Alvin know what they're going to do next. Mr. Date starts talking to his students and later adds that they have 2 new students in their class.

"So be on your best behavior for these new classmates of yours. In which case, come on in boys, and introduce yourselves.", their homeroom teacher waved; sending the message to come in.

Alvin comes in first, then Roy, but the moment Roy comes in, he hears a familiar voice. An annoying familiar voice.

"Huh?! Roy! Hey Roy!! I didn't know you were assigned to this class!"

Roy closes his eyes and looks away for a moment. Roy takes a deep breath and looks at the source of the noise.

"Hiya Roy!", Yua exclaimed as she waved her hand at Roy.

"Wait, did you 2 know each other?", Mr. Date asked both Roy and Yua.

"Yeah! He scared a rabid dog, that was chasing me for no good reason, just by intimidating it when we were heading to school!", Yua answered proudly.

Everyone is surprised by this and starts murmuring to each other. On the outside, Roy looks like he isn't fazed by this and some people think he's an awesome guy, but on the inside, Roy is screaming loudly.

"Isn't that right, Sara?!", Yua asked as she looked at Sara.

Roy notices that Sara is there too. Everyone looks at Sara, waiting for her to respond.

"That's what I saw anyway. I don't even believe it myself....", Sara said as she put her head on the table.

"Did you do that?", Alvin whispered to him.

Roy didn't answer and just looked away but Alvin got the message.

"Alright calm down now. Hey! Quiet down! SILENCE!!!", their homeroom teacher shouted.

"..."

Quiet. The room is quiet.

"Ahem! OK, so why don't you introduce yourself to the class? Tell us what you like and dislike?", Mr. Date asked.

"I'm Alvin Johnson. If you can't tell, I'm from the US. I like the cultures of Japan. And I hate communism!", Alvin said in a jokingly way.

Everyone starts whispering to each other.

"Shhh! OK, go ahead.", Mr. Date told Roy.

Roy stands up in front and said…

"Abellona Roy. I love peace and tranquility. And I hate bullies.", Roy said.

People start murmuring even more. It's louder than what they did with Alvin. Roy thinks that he does something wrong, but he doesn't. People just think that what he said is badass. Especially that last line (Roy said that because it was the only thing he can think of at the moment). Everyone is already taking a liking to Roy. Yua is impressed that Roy can do this on just the first day of school.

"He looks cute, isn't he?", Girl 1 said.

"Yeah, if he doesn't have that scary look on his face. I can see why the said dog was scared of him", Girl 2 replied.

"But doesn't that make him cool?", Yua chimed in.

However, nobody says anything to her. They all give her weird looks. This causes Yua to sit back down on her chair.

"Does he play video games, though?", Boy 1 asked himself.

"Nah. I bet someone as edgy as him does something more extreme.", Boy 2 answered.

"Yeah like, what? Basketball?", Boy 1 said to Boy 2.

"Shut up!", Boy 2 said with a smile on his as he punches Boy 1 on the shoulder while he laughs.

"Though, if he would, he would probably beat you in a 1v1.", Yua chimed in again.

The boys look at Yua weirdly, giving her the silent treatment as well. Yua sits back in her chair again. All quiet and even sad. Roy notices this, feeling a little bit of pity towards Yua.

"Quiet!", Mr. Date yelled again.

Silence.....

"OK then. Abellona-san and Johnson-san, you both will have to decide on where you should sit between those 2 chairs.", Mr. Date said as he points in the general direction of where the empty chairs are.

NOTE: This is usually but not totally how teachers call their students.

"LAST NAME + -SAN".

One is beside the window and the other is in the middle of the class. The problem is though that Yua is in the middle of said chairs. Yua is beside the chair near the window, and above the middle chair. Also, Sara is beside Yua. Roy doesn't have much of a choice, so he just has to prepare for hell. Roy picks the chair near the window because that's where he can get the least attention from everyone. Alvin is left with one chair and so he takes it.

"Alright!", Mr. Date exclaimed as he was trying to get the attention of his class.

"Now treat your classmates as you treat me. With respect. OK? OK. Now, all of you will form 2 lines and will head to the auditorium properly. No running. No pushing. Got it?", Mr. Date asked.

"Yes, sensei.", the class said in unison.

Everyone stands up and starts to fall in 2 lines. 1 for the boys and the other is for the girls. The line is ordered from shortest to tallest and so Alvin is in the very back. Roy's second to the last.

"Remember, walk properly. Now go.", Mr. Date let them go.

Everyone starts heading towards the auditorium, but they aren't the only ones going there. Every class is also heading in one place.

'If there are 7 sections each year, which is 6 (1st year, 2nd year, etc.), and an average student's headcount per class is 30. Then they are, estimated, 1 260 students. How are they going to fit that many students in one place-', Roy's train of thought was interrupted when he saw the large building that is called the "Auditorium".

Roy is very surprised by this. Roy has never seen anything like that before, but he keeps his cool, not showing any of his excitement to anyone. At the inside of the auditorium, chaos is happening. People shouting, calling their classmates, and everyone was everywhere with no order. And soon their class is involved in this mess. Everything is disorder. Suddenly teachers come to the rescue and start leading class after class on where they're supposed to be and soon order is reestablished. Of course, they are some students chatting with each other but all of them are soon silent when the principal speaks using a microphone.

"Good morning, students!", Principal Daichi greeted.

"Good morning, Principal Daichi!", they all said in unison.

"Now for all those students who were enrolled last year, welcome back. It's good to see you all here again. And to those who are new here, hello! I hope you all have a wonderful time here.", the principal said as he waved.

Some students waves their hands back but immediately put them down due to peer pressure.

"Now let me talk for a few minutes to buy time for them. Something happened back there and they need more time to fix it so we can start the ceremony.", the principal jokingly said.

Everyone laughs.

"Hehe. Of course, it's the first day of school. Something like this is bound to happen. Like all of you before. It was a disaster. But I hope that as the days pass, all of us we'll progress greatly. A mess like before won't happen again in the upcoming months, isn't that right students?", Principal asked the students.

"Sir, yes sir!", the whole school responded.

Suddenly someone approaches the teacher and whispers something in his ear.

"OK. So I was told that they already solved the problem but before I leave, I would like a few words.", the principal said in response.

Everyone quiets down. Waiting for what the principal is about to say.

"Remember, you all are the leaders in our future. You're our hope, and a living proof that greatness awaits us.", Principal Daichi said as he looked at Roy for a second.

Then Principal Daichi leaves. Roy notices this but is a bit confused. As Roy's about to think about it he is soon interrupted by the sight of who is on stage.

"Greetings, everyone! I'm Ichika Sara. And I would like to thank you for voting me as President of the student council last year.", Sara introduced herself.

"Why is she doing there?", Roy said to himself.

"She's probably gonna do a speech.", said Alvin who heard Roy.

'Oh. A speech. I guess that's a normal thing for a school like this.', Roy thought to himself as soon as he heard Alvin.

Surely enough, Sara does have a speech. It's all about order, discipline, and responsibility. After that, everyone applauds. Soon after they all sing their national anthem. Everyone then goes to their classroom and the day goes on...
